when i started to get into goth fashion i got most things in october when halloween is at the dollar store its really money saving when you are at school
Most of my most successful outfits are secondhand and from brands that are not gothic at all. I have killstar, as well and have noticed that even though everything of theirs is expensive, the quality is hit or miss. For example, I ordered a night dress and although the fit and design are great, you can tell the fabric is really cheap - stretchy with white fuzz, easy to quickly wear out after a couple of washes. Shopping secondhand + accessorizing really goes a long way!
I also ordered a Killstar nightdress about 2 years ago now and after ONE wear it had bobbled horribly and was only fit for the bin, a pair of panties bought only recently are heading the same way. I am becoming disillusioned with KS to be honest. Have bought a beautiful black crochet dress just recently for about €15 that I am absolutely delighted with!!!
I've definitely noticed a drop in the quality of the materials they use, although on the whole I still like their shoes & accessories, but again you have to do your research first! 🖤❤️
I'm not exactly a baby bat anymore, but when I was one I used to be very frustrated with all the goth people that said "oh I found this basic item in a regular store" because the nice finds are rare. The truth, for me at least, is that developing any style takes time. I guess what I'm trying to say is: don't get frustrated if you walk into zara or other stores of that sort and don't find a lot of things you can use because, even though it sucks, it takes time
DEFINITELY!!! It can take years to put together a cohesive wardrobe & it can be very frustrating. That's why shops like Killstar definitely have a place as you can get a few key pieces & then use the basic bits to make an outfit. If you could do it overnight it would be dull!!! 🖤❤️
Always nice showing people you don't need special clothes, if you got good accessories. And sometimes it's nice "dress down" too. The simple basic can make a very relaxed goth too. Thanks for a great video 🦇🖤🖤🖤🖤🦇
just found this video now:) i grew up in a religious household and was never allowed to wear gothic clothing, i had been taught that it was satanic and it was treated as some mental disorder that i should be ashamed of for liking it. as i have gotten older my parents have loosened up a lot and aren’t so strict about it. my style varies but i really love how one can express themselves so much by pieces of fabric.

Since childhood I was interested in goth-culture and always wanted to dress like that, but was very shy and scared to dress outside of the box, but now I finally decided to live like my inner-self wants. Your video is really helpful for me, as and idea where to start and how to pair up clothes I already have. I'd love a video about winter goth outfit. I find really it hard to get good outfits with warm clothing like a thick jumper. A lot of goth clothes are made of thin or light materials.
First thing that comes to my mind is a trench coat, could go for a leather or distressed black denim jacket as well; anything mesh, lace, fishnet, ripped, etc could be worn over something fitted that's purple, red, green, whatever deep color you like. Last suggestion is wide belts. Slap em on whatever.
I love these types of videos for a number of reasons. We don’t have anything where I live that is nice at all. Small town in the middle of nowhere. Secondly, it’s too bloody hot! It’s always 32 degrees Celsius so it gives me some ideas. Definitely not able to wear boots or belts more often then not but I still want to stay true to me.
@@HeavyMetalMomma yes! I have mesh and also cotton, but not that rubbish linen lol I hate it! It’s too humid to dry. Also, stainless steel jewellery and accessories because they don’t tarnish. Waterproof everything make up lol and lots and lots of sunscreen with cool sunglasses. I have a great sunglasses collection. And a big black hat!
I'd love to know what sunscreen you use as I find it all so greasy. I really like all day stuff so you only have to apply it once or twice instead of every 90 minutes but it's all so greasy & gross!!!

Killstar have some great accent pieces but you DEFINITELY don't have to only shop there, we all still looked awesome 10 years ago - although it is nice to know you can usually find something beautiful if you want to splash your cash!! 🖤❤️
Great vid hun! Definitely use charity shops & cheap sites. One thing I have found for my baby bat is SHEIN clothes sizes are on the small size so I can get things for her. She’s like a size 4 she is tiny. I am finding I’m living in leggings again but mainly because I work at home & do an intensive workout in my lunch break. I need to hunt down more mesh & jumpers!
That's good to know, although I personally don't use Shein because they stole a few friend's designs so I don't use them but I have in the past, but that is a completely personal choice & BooHoo etc are arguably just as terrible!!! My daughter is raiding my old clothes ATM which is saving me a fortune!!! 🤣🖤❤️
Definitely try Demonia's, they are usually very wide fitting, you may find them on sale too as the smallest sizes are usually what are left from big companies. 🖤❤️

funnily enough most of my goth dresses I've gotten from Zara secondhand. I just add navy lipstick and raccoon eye makeup and I'm good to go.
