This brings back memories. I bought this kit when it first came out. My local track ran exclusively Losi cars. I was the only one running Associated (10T, RC10 Worlds, then T2).
Haha you can hear the lost pin bouncing in the box after you took the tool out and put the box to the side. I remember building my first RC10 back in the day and having the same frustration with the roll pins. They get easier to deal with once they've been installed and taken out a few times. You are in for a treat when you drive it. They drive like nothing else.
@RC Icons Absolutely, it's sitting on my desk at the moment. I tried to display it on my wife's dressing table but she wasn't having any of it. Thanks again for your generosity.
What a car! I had an RC10 gold chassis back in the day, I'm still kicking myself about moving it on. I swapped it for a Cougar 2. Wish I still had that too! Ah well!
Im just glad I still have my graphite car. I sold it when i was done with the hobby, but regetted it a few months after. 3 years later, randomly saw an ad for my car - basically the same condition I sold it in. Sold it for $350 AUD with spares and charger in 2005. Bought it back for $450 if i recall, and will never sell it again. Will never see a Worlds - its way too pricey, and usually they need to come from US - and postage is also ridiculous... Glad you were able to afford a Worlds..
😍That is my absolute favorite livery for any RC10 ! Absolutely beautiful!! Never had a RC10, and I remember looking at them in RC Car Action magazine back then, dreaming about having one, but they were not possible to get a hold of where I lived. Now they're so expensive I can't justify buying one - so it's great to have your channel to get a little bit "closer" and to feel that nostalgia 😊
Never had an RC10, so it's great to see one getting built. Another great video Keith. Love the stuff you know and share about these cars. Keep 'em coming. 👍👍
The bit at the end with you finding ther roll pin in the bow made me guffaw out loud. I have a gold pan RC10 that I found and bought after waiting and looking and waiting and looking ad-nauseum. It was I think a conglomeration of different versions and it took me an age to strip, clean, re-furbish and re-assemble. It fought against me the whole way. It didn't have a body or wing, but it was actually a reasonable price. It seems to be common for this era of cars but the wings and wire mounts are impossible to find. I just need to do the body and tune up the chassis a bit. Very enjoyable vid. Thx for putting it up.
❤ It. I am still raining. The one I bought back in 94 from JD beckworth. He had raised it the world.Great car.Love, it still just hard to keep it running trying to find the parts. If you know where I can get parts for it.Will you please let me know my name's Tom?And i'm gonna associate fan from way back when.
I was about 14 or 15 when the world's car originally came out, and probably still have the tower hobbies catalog with it circled. There was no way I could afford it back then, but in my early 20's I found one for sale locally that had been assembled but never run, and bought it for pretty cheap. I missed out on building the kit until the re-re came out, and I run that one sometimes. I should probably get a box art body to put on my original car, seeing as the one it came with was poorly painted and trimmed, and I can't do it myself.
Keith.. buddy.. my man. This is incredibly good. As always, love the history lesson as its the history that makes these cars so very special. I can absolutely relate to where to draw the line, because you have to stop somewhere, right? For me it's been with a combined focus on 90s cars and VONATS class eligibility rules. I absolutely love the 80s cars as well, but so many are borderline unobtainium -- which means I guess I'll have to stay subscribed to see what you come up with next!
Wow 😊❤️😍 the content you give us is divine ❤️ I have lately realized I prefer reres rather than vintage originals. But thanks to you I see and remember what cars I wanna build ❤️ thanks Keith ❤️
It looks absolutely stunning and there are lots of interesting stuff going on in there! The shocks are really cool, I have not built anything like that yet. Looks super easy building them but how much of a nightmare would they be to rebuild? I can getting that back out of the shock is gonna be a giant pain, glad you don't don't have to worry about that! I did laugh at you finding the roll pin at the very end! Sounds like something that would happen here! I can't remember which car it was I was building but I was missing one of the key shock components and I tore the shop apart looking for it only to find it lodged in one of the other parts as I was boxing it all back up to build another day after I found a replacement for it so I had to unbox it all again and start over! Goofy stuff like that happens all the time. It turned out amazing and the the guy that did the body did a great job as well! I miss the drippy paint years!
That was awesome, I have a few of these sought after kits from a couple of different manufacturers. It’s nice for me that they have gone up in value, but I would never sell them, I am too scared to build them , let alone run them, as they will loose their value. To be able to watch you build them has been amazing, I hope one day I can be brave and build them also, more fun than pulling out an unbuilt box occasionally. Keep up the great work Keith and thank you
The plastics on the RC10 are a nylon delron type which are hygroscopic so they absorb moisture and dry out. Often requiring arm reamers for smooth operations
Another great video Keith. Keep it up. Was rebuilding a Traxxas Bullet (my first RC, paper route money) while I watched. Just picked up an RC Graphite on ebay today, will be picking up cans and bottles for a while. Lol, thank you so much - you and Glenn are my favorite on youtube. Cheers and all the best.
Roll pins absolutely effing SUCK rhinoceros cok! Lol. Great video Keith I really enjoyed this video and I know your frustration with the pins. It's kinda funny as I said to myself that you would probably find that damn pin after you ordered one or after the car was built...Sure enough Lol. Turned out incredible Keith, thanks for the entertainment!
oh man epic build you can hear the pin fall in the box at 7:47, i was waiting the all the video for you to find it 😉👍, but like glenn says once in a life time unice car cant wait for the drive video and how it handels must be amazing cus the build was not that great
Epic build, looks sexy af 👌 i got my hands on the rere one nib. The shock on peoples comments when i posted me cutting the factory seal 😂 looking at the original i think the shocks look better, and guess it has more originallity. Never got to run mine, and had to move it on to free up some pennys 😭
I had an original RC10 and I also raced it. I also had an RC10t truck. Both were great cars back in the day. I did have a re-release RC10 but sold it recently for a nice profit. However, I do still have both of my race vehicles. I have an RC10t with RPM parts and also an RC10 also with RPM parts. I also have an original RC10 A stamped in amazing condition. Thoughts?
JAZUS!! 350 dollars for Rod ends!!!! CRAZY TOWN. Some people just have no clue. I have been looking for new Scx6 rims. Now, being bigger they are expected to be more but I came across a set and they were asking $600 (OO) Just about crapped my pants. lol I am a big fan of Team associated. Still Have my B4 and a T4 (truggy Version) Also had the Sc10 until recently. Great build man and I realize now that I have an original set of Rc10 Shocks.. I wonder if I can get 300 bucks for them.. LMAO Awesome video brother. Enjoyed watching
@@rcicons4915 i had the same issue with the B3 , try and error...., Raced even the RC10 B3 worlds edition at my local hobby Club but the front was a bit too weak , some parts broke too easy.... Went to Losi XXX- bk2 and a Losi XX-4 worlds ed., They drove much easier ( club : MBV Kampenhout in Belgium)
The other crazy thing is that the re re of this must not have sold well in the beginning. after I got mine, Amain had them on sale for around $180. Now they are around a grand. Shuolda coulda woulda I guess
Dose your box have Brian Kinwald's picture? If so it's a really rare box $$$. Team Associated was so pissed off they removed Brian Kinwald's picture on all the later boxes. Brian signed a contract with Team Losi during the release of the worlds car and AE was not happy about that and took Brian off all the later boxes.
This video made me want a 2wd now lol . If you only want an rc10 black chassis for show why not buy a used car and sand and reanodise the chassis. Should be easy to refurb.
Lol 😂 the “ guy is smoking crack “ comment! It seems people think they’re stuff is worth way more than it is these day’s. However if someone is willing to pay than I guess it is?🤪🤪🤪
Brian kinwald ...RIP . He was in every RC magazine back in the day.
This was an amazing video these seem to be very popular and very sought after keep up the great work Keith thank you 👍
Thank you.
Wow awesome.. what a car.. love the RC10 such a classic :) excellent job Keith
Thank you. The rc10 is such a simple design and has just great looks.
This brings back memories. I bought this kit when it first came out. My local track ran exclusively Losi cars. I was the only one running Associated (10T, RC10 Worlds, then T2).
Amazing to see this build, incredible. Really enjoyed that.

Once in a lifetime build my friend 🤩
Yes,
But now I can watch it whoever I want. Lol
Still have my Rc-10 from 1985. Definitely a game changer back then.
That is awesome to still have yours.
What a car! I had an RC10 gold chassis back in the day, I'm still kicking myself about moving it on. I swapped it for a Cougar 2. Wish I still had that too! Ah well!
I have a graphite awaiting a full resto, thanks Keith I now have a bit of an idea on what’s involved 👍
Spectacular car. That’s a keeper for sure

It was a must have for me but was absolutely stupid money.
What a nice looking buggy. I have been sitting on a "A" stamp rebuild for the same reasons. Thanks for the video.
That will be fun. This was a pleasure to build short of the roll pin.
Awesome video Keith. Luv these buggies.👍
I only wanted a select few rc10’s in the collection and I am glad this was one of them.
wow you built a historic car. excellent video

You should look into getting a room pin starter punch. They are hollow allowing the pin to slide in about half way, a real finger saver!
Special build man you are a lucky dude Keith 😉👍

Roll pins! 😮 I’m building my Top Cat today and I thought I had trouble with drive shaft assembly 😅
Funny,
Always something to frustrate us. Is what it is. We always find a work around though and forget all about when it is done.
Man Keith I’ve been waiting for this build I wanted one of these so so badly and was never able to find one that I could afford thank you so much
My pleasure as always.
These builds are EPIC. You’re doing stuff that I never thought I would see done! Great work, continued success to you.

For roll pins if you go to a grinder and Create a generous chamfer on one end. This should create enough of a start to get your pin in. ;)
Whether you run it or not they’re meant to be built 😁
Nothing like holding it in your hands.
