The biggest gripe is the end game, like the almost very end game. Like 80-100 as you said. I would like to see content introduced that just adds new things to do. Because, the level 1-70 experience is quite good tbh. Maybe things that REQUIRE level 85. Maybe a 10 man raid where you go down to Hell and fight a massive army. Maybe a fortress defense mode where you build shit, doesn't have to be super complex, that you defend a castle with 4 people. Maybe a tower defense type mode that would incentivize people who use like CC to slow and freeze enemies. Stuff that people made in like Starcraft and Warcraft 3 days. More Butcher-esque like encounters, but not the butcher. Maybe a dungeon that has 0 respawns, but the rewards are tremendous (non-HC). And of course, the standard stuff of adding a new character, new gears in season, etc.

On the builder spender topic.... I actually really like this in theory, however because of all of the power and synergies focused around core skills, the core skills outpace the basic skills severely. Combine this with the fact most Basic skills kinda suck just in pure design (Druid is the worst in this aspect) just leads to them feeling bad to press always. You can "almost" get to a point where you do not need to press a basic attack at all but you still sometimes need to, and I think this is kind of the main crux. They should either make Basic skills feel better to press, add more synergies in glyphs or paragon nodes, or just bump the resource generation from power to where you can eventually out-gear needing to ever press them instead of currently where you still need to but only sometimes.

The issues you mention about levelling from 80+ aren't just prevalent at 80+. After completing the campaign on a druid I started levelling a rogue but skipped the campaign. All there is to do is dungeon spams and tree of whispers grinds which both get old very fast. There just seems to be a complete lack of content - I appreciate I skipped the main campaign, however I honestly thought there would be more to do. There is more to do than those, but yea they are probably two of the better ones for XP. You got world events, strongholds, helltides, legion events, world bosses, side quests, cellars, aspect dungeons. The thing is that, the tree of whispers are probably the most lucrative XP wise so you tend to lean towards that if you're not spamming a dungeon over and over for XP, or doing the cellar/world event reset glitch, which gave me 10 levels 60-70 in about 8 hours. I do not know if that is super good, but its about twice as fast as running NM dungeons 10-15 levels higher than my character.

Having only 3 marksman abilities for rogue for example, barrage, penetrating shot, and rapid fire, seems a bit lackliuster to me. Yes you can get affixes that enhance the abilities and make them do additional things. Arrow bounces, etc. But I'm sure you could have even more flavor with ability variety. Not adding onto the affixes, but adding some new ones like volley which would be a much wider spread cone of arrows that shoot only once, could augment them to penetrate, etc. A jumpback shot for a marksman evasion option. I'm sure more examples of unique and fun skills can be thought of, but I'm a person that really enjoys having a plethora of abilities to pick and choose from. The reason your character felt stronger in Diablo 3, is because the minions didn't scale with your levels. Not only would items make you feel stronger, but your character level would as well. In my opinion, that is my biggest problem with leveling in this game. It doesn't promote people to do unique builds. Everyone uses the cookie cutter builds to level up and then change to an endgame build when they get there. As you level, your build just looks more and more weak and makes you wonder if you chose the right abilities or not. I started with Diablo 1 and Diablo 2 and I still believe the game has went off the beaten path too far. I have more faith in D4 than D3 to be a good game though.

The super uniques in their current drop rate should just not exist imo. You have to play as if they do not exist as you have about the same odds of being killed by a shark on a beach in Nevada than getting one. I know the game will get better and end up great but it is D3 on release again. They should add this; in the Division 2 (I know a lot of arpg players have never played this but it's the exact same thing but just a shooter, not a isometric click to move with wizards) there is a way through the weaponsmith, to farm a resource that you can use to eventually make all of your gear rolls maxed out. This allows you to, once you find the perfect rolled piece of gear, know that you can eventually make that item BiS maxed out perfect roll through "crafting". Since this game is more targeted at a wider playerbase, people would be more incentivized to play the game more because they know that they can max out their character, rather than currently where a "chance" at finding a better rolled piece of gear is just not very appealing and people stop being motivated to play.

Why do you need a goal to work towards? I mean this as no criticism, just curiosity. I see a lot of people with an experience like this, not just specifically in Diablo 4, but gaming in general - for lack of a better word, I'm gonna call it "goal oriented gaming". As in, the game itself becomes secondary to the end-goal being pursued. Personally I've always experienced games as sort of a dance - something I do, because I enjoy doing it. I dance for the dance, not to reach any set goal. And I play games to enjoy the experience of the game. I mean, it's fun to have some things to strive for in a game as an added experience, be it competitive, or a milestone of sorts, but I see those as secondary. If I enjoy the game, I play it and if the available goals within it are fun to pursue, I will. But for the most part, the playing itself is its own reward. And if I don't enjoy the game that much, no amount of goals to pursue will ever change that. So, in either case, the goals don't play a significant role in my experience of the game.
Again, to avoid any potential misunderstandings, this is not meant as any sort of judgement of anything. Just genuine curiosity as it appears that many people experience games in a very different way than I do. Sort of in a way I see people experiencing jobs - as something to do to reach a certain goal, less so for the work itself. So I wonder what that perception/experience is like to be in the center of
This also appears to be a part of how multiplayer gaming changed. Took me pretty long to conceptualize, but...over the time I've been playing games, I felt something significantly changed about the experience and I just couldn't put my finger on it. But I'm pretty sure this is it. The multiplayer stuff I played as a kid and teen were mostly designed as an experience for its own sake. But over time, the design has been shifting more and more towards chasing goals and a stated feeling of emptiness and pointlessness in the face of running out of goals to chase. I find that peculiarly fascinating

To be honest, I really enjoy D4 on the actual state the game is in. I tried to not look into internet's builds for my barbarian, trying to build by myself, got killed a lot on softcore gaming as I progressed on the main history of the game, now I'm playing on hardcore and its still funny how I have to plan every corner to not get killed and lose everything. Yeah, I know there's a lot of things that could be done better, but to be honest, as a braziliam who paid 350 BRL (kinda 30-40% of minimal wages here), really high price for a video game, as I'm still finding it fun to play, I can say that it was worth it. I still didn't play other classes (just the inicial lvls to see how they are), and I guess they will be another kind of fun, as the gameplay factor will change, probally. Idk if I'll keep playing on seasons, as to my PoV, unless theres really another main story, lvling just for lvling is not a strong appealing point to keep doing the same thing over and over, but overall, I really can recommend D4 as a game to anyone looking for something fun to play right now.

They should really do more with the skill system. For example, the modifiers for the skills should incorporate added animations like Lost Ark. For example, there’s a skill in Lost Ark as Paladin that does an initial hit for damage. If you modify it, then the attack will do a follow-on swing that will stun the enemies in front of you. Then if you modify it a third time, there’s a final swing that does massive damage to the enemies in front of you. It’s contextual, tho. You need to make sure you land those hits or they’ll be ineffective.
I’m a fan of the skeleton barriers at times because I remember a location where they had barricades up to steer a player into a specific engagement area. Once there, a circular barricade rises and melee skeletons raise in the center to attack you while the heavy distance weapons are on the outside targeting you. This is an awesome example of an ambush in D4 that’s like what we’d do in real life.
I’d also like to see the NPCs and enemies doing more actual activities than just standing there in an area. Some of the greatest moments are entering a dungeon and seeing knights around a campfire having conversations when you enter. Or sometimes wolves can be seen feeding on dead prey. Would like to see a lot more of this as they build on the game rather than enemies just standing in an area.

I've tried everything to get past T90 but there's no way, not only do you have to look for perfect affixes on your sigils but you can forget half the dungeons and will have to quit half of what remains halfway through since there are impossible setups.
The grind from T50 to T90 consisted of only two things :
1 - being more and more restricted in the viability of builds, there's a reason no rogue cleared 100 (the cheesy korean stuff doesn't count).
2 - Looking for a bigger number on the same gear, i've kept an eye out since lvl70 on every ancestral i've dropped and i have perfect stats on every piece (just not perfect rolls), so i'm just looking for better numbers on incredibly rare stuff already, and i have to sort through 1000 pieces of garbage to find one that may be usefull.
So the only end game path a player who knows what's up can look forward is to get pigeonholed into looking for incredibly specific stuff so as to do the only challenging content in the game (because best believe that as soon as you hit 65-70 if you know what you are doing there's absolutely no challenge in anything but nightmare dungeons).
There's absolutely no other way to play and that's a shame.

I think there's a lot of QoL things that can be fixed quickly but the major problems will take a lot longer to get to. I find the game gets good right when you move up a world tier but then falls off pretty quickly once you plateau on your gear. This is why that level 80 feels bad.
I really don't like how much crap we now have in our inventories. Sigils, elixirs, aspects, gems, all take up one big slot. D3 at least had smaller and bigger items. If you do a few helltides, you'll have elixirs coming out of your assholes. Overall, I find that there's way too much time in your inventory, sifting through gear and sorting out crap. You don't know what is good or not so you kind of hold on to everything and that ends up wasting so much time that you could be killing mobs.
My biggest issue comes from the loot and the gear. D4 loot is BORING. I worried about this since the beta how every legendary was just a crafted legendary. You're not excited about legendary drops anymore because you just want the aspect. I don't want to be sifting through Rare gear to imprint aspects on. This could be alleviated if uniques were good, but the vast majority of them are garbage, and in my experience, you find the same class uniques over and over, and none of the better ones will ever drop for you. What's the point of making the shako and others THAT rare? So no one ever will enjoy them? Also, enchanting costs are atrocious and there's no good way of building gold wealth. It's like they make that part more tedious to keep you playing longer.
Every build feels like a ghetto Legacy of Nightmares build. The second issue is that none of these builds feel transformative. In trying to cater to the meta haters, they made this imprint system that is a wishy washy type of design. Instead of trying to design cool transformative playstyles with synergizing sets and legendaries like in D3, you have a mishmash of passive boring skills that just make your build more efficient. Maybe the Druid can really transform with their storm builds, but other classes, you could be playing the same build at level 20 as you do at level 80, only at level 80 you're more efficient and tougher, but nothing transforms. Like the best thing they could do for the Rogue ranged skills was to give them a chance to split? It's SO BORING. Even D3 runes had 6 ways you could use basically every skill.
They had a chance to use the paragon legendary nodes to do some cool things, but they're all mostly boring passives again. Less passive abilities, more active abilities PLEASE. Imagine if you could theme your builds using your paragon boards. That means that after level 50, you can focus your build on a few boards that have powerful, fun, transformative legendary nodes that shape your build. No, instead, we can do 30% more damage to Vulnerable enemies, just like every other stats we already have.
TLDR; Level 80+ sucks because you lose focus and motivation. If there was at least some cool gear to find, you might keep farming, but there is zero dopamine hit when you find any legendary and most uniques. Most people probably don't care to push high NM dungeons, or to bother with uber Lilith, so there's really no purpose to try to grind to 100, when it's so slow and repetitive after 80.

Visually I would say it's top tier, albeit lacking soul. The design and systems really let it down and I have little faith that the team is going to get it right anytime soon. Dungeons: One thing I was confused on with dungeons in D4 after playing Immortal (stopped after Paragon 60 or so as I wasnt gonna spend any $$) was how Immortal seems to have more creative elements within dungeons than D4 does. Like those elevators or river rides where you're holding off waves of monsters as you go up or down an elevator or down a river was super cool. Like imagine a dungeon that's just one massive tower or elevator up/down where each level is harder and harder, more and more elites like Asmon was saying. Why not more creativity in dungeon design?
Legendaries: Totally agree about adding a WT5. And for those capstone Legendaries you were talking about, a way to make them more than just miniscule number changes is they should add abilities on them that have significant animation differences for each one. I play rogue so for example they could easily make cold, shadow and poison versions of the same item that have VISUAL differences based on which one you get. If you get the cold bow for example it glows blue and does cold dmg, etc etc and maybe even has a DIFFERENT animation than the other two. Most of having these would be for clout but what else is a gear based game for if I cant show off something only a small percentage of ppl have endgame?
Mounts: Agreed pathing is bad. Also agree the cooldown length is weird. But in general im baffled on how mounts are handled in general. Why dont different mount vendors sell different mounts or skins? Why do they even exist in the world if this isnt the case? Like, why dont different mount vendors in different cities have different mounts for sale? Why can't I buy a drake or scorpion or bear or literal demon mount in game with gold or some other currency? Thats so odd to me. The mounts could EASILY be endgame loot drops.

There's a reason why changes often take so long: what seems to be a little change can have unforeseen consequences, because many parts of code are incterconnected, and the more complex the software the wilder the ride. So when you fix something, that means new testing etc, etc. New gem tab... ooops now there´s a way to dulicate gems, such stuff.
And of course it's simply a matter of cost and convenience for the developer
