On top of that, Kripp did it in one take without cuts. That is absolutely insane how much knowledge and thoughts he has on the game,
yeah he literally says in the intro
And then Asmon watches it and adds almost nothing to the video and makes just as much off of it as Kripp does. He's kind of a leech imo.

Asmongold reacting to kripp is legendary. I used to watch him when he was playing hearthstone years ago and I’m hyped to watch him again on diablo 4.
I think overpower is going to be really important for some builds. Like bloodmancer and earth-druid. These can proc overpowered hits quite consistently and also fortify themselves. I think its a pretty interesting mechanic because you get to stack toughness to increase your damage. Certainly a nice addition as regular critchance still exists. Its basically one more toy to play with and i dont see how thats a bad thing (unless its broken ofc).

I am glad that Kripparian actually gave examples of his issues with the UI. So many people just said the UI is awful but then didn't really say why or offer any comments on what could be done better.
I hate when people do that. If you’re going to offer criticism for something it needs to be concise because saying “UI is awful” doesn’t tell anyone anything and it’s just vague

Kripps video needs to get a lot of traction because there was not one sentence he said where i would disagree. Its gotta be the most spot on take on the D4 Beta out there and Blizzard has to take notes.
True and real
Blizz will take ZERO notes. Kripp has done nothing but sit on hearthstone for years now. D4 could be the best diablo game in the franchise and he will still barely play it and just keep milking that easy HS money. Why do you think he stuck with HS so long? Do you think it is because he enjoys that shitshow of a game? No, it is because it way easier to just chill on HS than it is to go hard on some other game. As long as his viewers keep being ok with him playing HS then that is where he will stay 100%. Blizzard giving a shit about his opinion on a game he isnt even going to bother streaming regularly makes zero sense.
@Maibuwolf hearthstone is fun. Diablo is fun. Games are fun. Krupp can do what he wants. You're just an incredibly salt coated nut
@@Maibuwolf Bro even if he plays HS all day, he has accomplished more than 99% of all players who plays Diablo. Why don't we take his advice over FOMO andys?
@@123321cpu I did not say WE shouldnt take his advice. I said blizzard will give zero fucks about it. Try and pay attention.
As you said, many of Kripp's doubts come from the belief that Blizzard won't be able to properly address these issues. The sad thing is that there was a time when these doubts would have been considered laughable, when the first reaction to these concerns would have been "nah, it's Blizz we're talking about, they'll 100% hit it right on the nail". Now that trust doesn't exist anymore, they've shattered it, ground it to dust and thrown it away.
so sad but so true
What? People have complained about Blizzard as far back as actual vanilla lol I lived on the BNet forums and it was NON STOP bitching. Its just more viewable today than it was years ago, due to platforms like Reddit, Twitter, RUclips, etc. We didn't have a whole lot of major gaming personalities back in the day the way we do today. Used to just drop a video of them railing on someone in a BG every now and again, now we have full on gaming news youtubers. Things are just going as they go.
I still remember the mountains of threads about class balancing in World PvP and how Blizzard doesn't give a shit about classes other than Warrior and Rogue. Wew lad, those were some TOXIC times.
Kripp wouldn't be playing D4 much even if blizzard addressed his issues because he's a HS player who primarily plays HS despite its insane p2w economy.

Man, early days on PoE were so fun. I remember getting an invite back in September 2011 and I instantly fell in love. I was just sad that there wasn't much content yet in the alpha.
I really need to return to PoE, I haven't really played through the entire game in a long time.
I remember watching Krip when he was in an apartment on the floor talking about Diablo 3. He and Swifty are why I steamed on twitch back in 2011 !!!
I used to watch kripp so much back in the day! I love the way he speaks very intelligent the way he strings his thoughts together for the viewer.
Also a note on Q&A, when you have a trial period like this were the classes vary in power level you get a good feel for which direction the target audience is pulling. Maybe they were on the fence about which direction to lean, then they know better now.
@@knavenformed9436 yea yea, but more than gravitate towards, what do they say they LIKE? So the audience will of course use the most powerful class, but do they prefer it to be nerfed or other classes buffed? It's probably intentionally unbalanced in *some* aspects. I hope. God I really hope it's intentional and will be fixed.
Love seeing Kripp in this space again, and hope he continues with it, would be awesome to watch more of his content again.
I think the only thing I don't really agree with is how he said that D4 has a lot of depth like POE for new players. The amount of skills and support gems in POE right out of the gate is insane, and then to be put into the passive tree right away is so overwhelming. D4 still caters to people just jumping in, they'll never have an optimized build, but you just pick 1 of 4-5 starting abilities and keep going. I respeced my sorc in D4 and put all cold skills on, and it was bad, but I was still easily able to kill things and move on. POE taking down brutus without a few good skills can be super difficult and within an hour of POE you could be running hundreds of different skill combinations that you also have to match up with a passive tree.
I had to look up Brutus to make sure that was the name of the boss I was thinking of, and in the changes it has "We have rebalanced various monsters found throughout Act One to make them more dangerous.". It just shows that POE is meant to be difficult and complex out of the gate, while D4 just wants people to enjoy the game casually, but will hopefully build into something that you can spend a lot of time maxing out
freakin legend...loved Kripp's videos in the day on Diablo 3 with krippy

I remember in legion, when they first introduced scaling, if you unequipped your belt you were actually stronger in open world content relative to the mobs. I think they hotfixed it so it was either on best in bags ilvl or whatever your max ilvl achieved was.

Kripp is literally a legend

I remember that call with athene. I don't like him but I give him some props because he did discover the monk glitch that made monks invincible and they were ahead in being world first before monks got nerfed lol and then it was over.
Love to see the respect given to Kripp. I watched his videos religiously for the last few years. Played him I'm BGs a few times, too!
When i was playing final fantasy tactics, i found out quickly how the enemies on the levels leveled up as they fought you as well. Trying to go back to old leveling for some easy battles and exp was pointless, as you'd be struggling to get stronger, but the enemies seemed to level at a similar or faster rate than you, so you'd never be able to really be much stronger than anything. It frustrated me immensely to the point that i gave up on the game and never went back to it.
You had to cheese strat in tactics. Corner some dancer or priest and constantly abuse them to gain JP til you maxed your job.

I like the idea that you can't just keep your double hyra cheese build or what ever for the whole game , you can recspec any time you want when your gear gets weak just respec to optimize your new gear , in my mind it will keep the game fresh

Oh man, I love that Kripp acknowledged playing the hell (pun fully intended) out of Diablo on the original PlayStation. There were many lost weekends to that game. I was playing it on PC at the time as my first real foot into online gaming (before MMOs seized me by the throat and took over my life) and then I'd be hanging with the lads and we'd take turns renting Diablo every weekend.
the only thing that pissed me off is that you can extract the legendary power. Only once if you will try extract it again from the item you already made. It will not allow you. Looks like it is better to wait with imprinting to the far end game because you might wait quite long to get the same legendary power again.
Kripparian is honestly the most intelligent content creator in the world, everyone knows he's a god at aRPG's and Hearthstone, but few people know about his WoW achievements. His general WoW dps guide is still the best one out there, and he made it in WotLK. He got world first max level 3-4 times. In the time he played WoW he was the number 1 parsing hunter worldwide.

@@TheNichq the average player will play this game for maybe a month. The more veteran arpg players want a game they can play for a long time and most of Kripps viewpoints are valid to that audience. Hardcore players keeps games alive and the game needs enough to keep players wanting to play more. For someone like me, I think the items look very boring outside of the aspects. That’s pretty bad for a looting game when your look is stale
When I hear Kripp talk, I instantly get sleepy. I still sub to his twitch channel, so I can fall asleep quickly at night. Nothing to say about his content, which is good, It is just the best stream to fall asleep to.

I think with the level scaling they should make it so certain areas scale less or more depending on where you are in the world. If you are max level and in the newbie area, those mobs shouldn't scale up as much as an area that is more end game. Maybe they have already done this? I'm not too sure since we were locked out of a lot of content in the beta; if you tried to run into an area for higher levels then it would just teleport you back.
Just take away scaling entirely during regular playthroughs and then unlock a leveled version of the world for the end game.. Imo its absolutely unacceptable to become weaker when leveling up.
Diablo 2 is so worth the play through. It was pretty much my childhood go to game. Well worth it.
Kripp looks like he never aged and aged at the same time it's wild
Krip is kind of a computer when it comes to video games it makes me mad how much better he is
For the scaling of the zones, I want them to add either a milestone to actually scale up the zones, or a toggle to it. Just open the map click on the zone and say "Scale to level on/off"
Or scale it only if you are in a group. If you are not grouping, have it a set level?
I think the most sensible solution to to remove scaling entirely for normal playthroughs, then once you get to the endgame have a difficulty settings that enables levelscaling.
Being able to toggle your difficulty level in an online game doesn't sit right with me.
@@skylimitua I mean level scaling in a game centered around power progression isnt a great idea either.

Asmon knows who deserves respect. Damn 1 hr 40 min. It's a feature film react.
"I hate running around a spider on cocaine" I was thinking you were talking about Hunt Showdown for a second.
The 'kill every monster' issue in dungeons is easily solved by putting a red dot on the map once a monster spawns in.
Always happy to see Asmon giving respect to other content creators, specially someone as worthy as Kripparian.
D4 skill trees reminds me of borderlands skills that scale based on your gear and if you get some good legs that boost an op skill, you can build around it, especially while leveling
I think that was the point that we get every skil combination at 25. People dont want to level to 50+ for 1 skill unlock. Moreover I think if we add to the skills legendaries, paragon system, runes (in the future, maybe even legendary runes) and set items we will have more than enough to play around.
Kripp is the man. He helped me become so much better at wow raiding as dps back in the day with his content
The last time i saw Kripp was during Heart Stone miracle rogue time, how time flies by ...
Man I miss Kripp's diablo videos!
this is a very good video kripparian put together. About barbarians i had a the fortunate time to speculate and craft builds in the beta for 25 and i found that upheaval is gonna be really good for leveling just like old sunder with brightbeak was in poe before nerfs. i was critting up to 5k on the worldboss with my brother tickling it with his hydras for 500% less damage than i did.
For Barbarian Ultimates I think the Maelstrom skill is going to be insane. This is because it is an ultimate that uses all 3 weapon types, which can combine all the effects of legendary items into a single skill. I just don't know if such a combination of actually useful effects will exist to make it worth combining them. I know a lot of people are going to keep it old school and go for bleed barb or whirlwind barb and shout spam.

I remember in one mmorpg at my younger days, where I grinded for stats and equipment, but avoided exp gain as much as possible. It had a huge difference in the game, which many didn't do. This rant is kind of reminding me of that and I'm wondering if you can manipulate it in Diablo4 as well.
Interesting

Even Asmon recognises Kripp is the origonal real one.
Other than yourself dude - Kripp has always been my favorite content creator. I just stopped playing Hearthstone a while back , so didn’t really watch him much. It’s great seeing him again and refreshing.
Maybe an unpopular opinion-the barb does need some tweaking. Everything you guys have said and a lot of folks is just undeniably true. It’s definitely not a melee friendly game at this stage.
Another note , back when he was playing WoW as a hunter and I seen him in AB get blown off LM , then proceeded to disengage back to the dude was some leet stuff lol
I feel like limiting us to 6 abilities is a bit oppressive in terms of build design. They could easily give both PC and Console 8 abilities... With such limited options, they're really hamstringing possibilities and improvisation. This is especially detrimental to classes like Barb.. Barbs actually have quite a few great CC/Utility abilities, but once you take a basic, core, and ultimate skills plus leap, you have two slots for all your war cries, pulls, CC, etc...
Of course they could. You are missing the point. Activison does not want the money of just the gamers. They want everyones money. The games must be as uncomplicated as possible so as many people as possible will buy it. They want your grandma to be able to play it even if its her first video game experience ever. Its why everything released by "blizzard" has been garbage since activision took over. They dont want to make a ARPG for ARPG fans. They want a hollow shell of an ARPG your grandma can pick up and play so she spends money too.
@@Maibuwolf I'm actually very surprised with how bad it actually is. I always thought I'd be mostly wrong about d4 but it's looking much worse than I expected. None of the issues kripp brought up will be fixed, addressed, or otherwise on release or even 1 - 2 mo after. AND WE'VE YET to see the monetization scheme for the game. The signs are so similar to diablo immortal.
both closed and open betas without monetization schemes shown, both have directly said you couldn't buy power, both have had multiple blogposts about how they won't make the game pay to win. I'm sure it won't be as bad as immortal but goddamn are the stars aligning. Blizzard is a company that is known to not take customer feedback and treat their consumers who have already bought into their live service model as children and showing them what their supposed to want. It is highly unlikely that they'd ever change a single main system or even minor systems due to outrage or community feedback. Sad to see; hopefully Microsoft fires all the leadership at blizz and makes some new hires/changes, its actually ridiculous that they have live service games without feedback or regularly scheduled updates public to the consumers.
@@Maibuwolf So in other words. In your grand ego you want everything to be as complicated as humanly possible to cater to the 1 percent of wannabe elitists who aren't as good as they think they are. This is not how good business models work. Also, you don't need to repeat yourself with the same unoriginal grandma line twice.
@Spazz4170
I don't even want to defend Blizzard, but a comment this stupid deserves a response.. D4 devs have gone over the entire monetization model repeatedly and released full details of their battle pass.. to sum it up, it's essentially the same as CoD.. Store will have skins available for premium currency.. battle pass will have both free and paid tiers.. paid tiers will only contain cosmetics and premium currency (exactly like cod).. anything you'd consider a "boost" will be tied to free tiers of the battle pass (like new weapons etc in cod).. They also detailed that you cannot unlock boosts by buying battlepass tier skips.. you still have to unlock the boosts naturally (via the quests tied to them)..
Nothing about the Immortal monetization scheme was outlined pre-release outside of the CM saying "you can't buy gear" in a tweet, which wasn't "technically" a lie. But besides that, if you were expecting "fair" monetization in a mobile game, you were delusional to begin with. Hearthstone already existed and that game is anything but "F2P friendly."
Inb4 "IDC BATTLE PASSES ARE STILL BAD!"
@@jakemartin5553 edit: i didnt clarify but my position is that blizz has a horrible track record and more likely than not will be fucking us in the ass soon, but lets wait and see.
so what you're telling me is that none of this, not even screenshots to drive sales and hype about cosmetics, is available to show less than a month away from release? While I'll agree maybe my comment was a bit vitriolic and I didn't get all of the facts reported absolutely correctly, I definitely saw multiple posts by staff on bnet regarding the monetization system not being "buy gear with rm." So yes while they did not explicitly list the details of their monetization of the game they heavily implied them and did the exact opposite on release. It's not even my point that they explicitly said this either it's about the implication and their history. Let's not forget that literally all of the monetization was hidden till the actual release of the game even throughout the "open" beta.
I don't give a fuck about battle passes as long as I'm not forced to buy them, I don't really care. What I care about is the quality of the game that I want to buy and my desire to not see systems in the game that will not want me to purchase it on release. If Blizz states that their system won't be buying any "power" should I take it at face value given their track record of the past lets see, 2 years? Have they showed any screenshots? marketing regarding it? I'm of the opinion that I'd rather wait and see what their actual choice is rather than just assume they'll act in good faith this time. Which I'm sure I've said multiple times in my prev comment as I do when I comment about d4 making it more clear to me you didn't read it. (edit: i did not clarify this in my comment this time I apologize this last sentence was uncalled for)
You're right I'm delusional to think that a mobile game is predatory that it literally costs over 10k to max your account. (? do you really believe this? obv mobile games are cash cows but really do you think this is an acceptable business practice?) But I'm not delusional to think that blizzard would do the exact same thing again to make money. Reforged, dimmortal, ow new monetization. All these games in the past 2 years have been cash grabs, ow not so much but the store is disgustingly predatory when it costs more for a digital item than the real thing there's an issue. My point being Blizz doesn't exactly have the track record of being honest and looking out for us. After all their "lying" (sorry misrepresenting their games to the point of being disingenuous, not lying exactly ig) do you really think its a good idea to take them at their word and not wait for the actual details of their monetization scheme? I get you don't want to defend blizzard and think im making up lies (which wouldn't be fair we are of the same opinion) but everything I've said is grounded in facts and their past history as a company and mind you THE VERY VERY VERY RECENT past. This isn't the stupidest comment you've ever heard you just don't want to recognize that this company has lied to us for years about whats in their games. I didn't clarify before in this comment so you couldn't of known what my acutal opinion was to wait and see what happens till after the game comes out and my comment here just states that the stars are aligning. which would make more sense in the context of my other comments but yes we cannot know until it comes out but with their current track record nothing I said previously is off the table, they've lied, literally hidden, and fucked us so many times in the past couple of years I wouldn't trust anything they say till I see images and video of it from 3rd party sources.
I was thinking about that zone lvl. scaling and for me, we should wait till the launch and the feeling on max lv characters. Even in D3 difficulty scales with the lv. If the new character gets lv. 70 weapon it can literaly crush the content on T6, but the closer you get to lv 70 the harder it is. Then character reaches lv 70, gets max lvl items, gets some paragons and rises power over mobs which are still capped on lv 70. I assume that something like that can happen in d4 as well. Mobs are scaled by player lvl, but it won't go up with paragons
Well, what's the point of upgrading if your combat proficiency isn't affected?
This guy reminds me of my dad and Quake. He's the type of gigachad that used the Microsoft SideWinder Dual Strike. He was also already in his 40s and I was barely 1 y/o when that controller first released(1999)
Dev team should hire this man ASAP.
I can't wait to watch you play Diablo 2 Resurrected! D2 is my favorite game of all time, it's very in depth for how old it is.
It’s sooooo easy for them to change the dungeon issue. Simply update the code to open the boss door upon arrival/initial interaction. I don’t think it’s going to be hard to easily fix that
So, basically Outriders' item/scaling systems but without learning or understanding what was bad about it.
On a note: they did lower the legendary upgrade cost like a month after launch in Outriders, which was late.
