A quality job from quality builders."All you need"is quality builders.
Looks very sharp and smart. artificial lawns have come a long way with different grades great job guys take care
Thanks for watching 👍
I used to landscape and artificial turf was becoming popular and its nice to see the new tools you can buy or hire to make life easier when laying! Later, I had it laid in our own garden and never regretted it; looked perfect and I’m sure was a major selling factor when we sold our house. I’m designing our new garden, gets sun, but we have an area where it only gets late sun, so we are going to lay artificial turf to replace the grass, as the grass is sparse there. I’ve treated it, but doesn’t look much. Anyway, thanks very much for all the hints and tips, and generally sharing your skills! All the best.
Great finish to the garden
Top quality work as always. I’ve been building my own extension over the last 12 months and a lot of the jobs you are doing I am doing similar a few months after you. You have given me lots of inspiration and tips keep the good work going. Thanks for sharing your work.
Great to hear! Thanks for watching 👍
@@BuildWithAE please can you come do mine in Peterborough
I wouldn't hesitate employing you guys, another great job 👍

No, it says how to fit.. Not how to hire
@@richardfisher8460 your missing the point

Very true pure quality no corners cut there I about to lay in my garden I ent no pro by any means but i am some one who under stands the word cant dont exist nice job hope mine turns out that nice :) top job lads
Amazing job
Cam I add artificial lawn to slabs
After watching you install the turf, i'd love for your company to install turf for me. You made it look so easy and seamless.
I love watching all of your videos because I'm becoming a builder and it's actually helping me with certain things on what to so thank you for Whoever decided to make building with A&E I thank you a lot and hopefully I come and work with you guys one day
Hi DJ Hill much appreciated, glad to hear you are getting into the trade, we wish all the luck and enjoy every moment thanks for watching all the best Tony 👍 have awesome week
Love your work attention to detail what I love
Thank you very much! Have a great week 👍
Great job!!!
If you were doing this on soil instead of mot would the build up be sharp sand, then the dust, then the membrane, then the grass???
Looking great
Good Job, Well Done!!!
So helpful. I'm just about to lay my sand...wish me luck!
As a fitter, I tend to lean away from kiln dry sand.. birds can excrete on top of the grass with sand in and cause seed germination. For me, sharp sand days are over now.. too much movement over time. 20mm to dust hard-core and 6mm granno dust 👍
Do you still sand the top after though….? Or just pin …?
that's a nice quality job.
Wow that is one of the best lawns I have ever seen laid. Do you carry out actual installations of lawns please. I have a very small lawn that needs doing. It is about 10 square meters. I am too old to do it any more Thanks
Thanks for sharing the video
Hi
Thank you for all
The tips!
I have concrete slabs in my garden would I have to remove all of them and dig up before laying grass?
That looks great I need to do something with my grass as its so bad.
Loving all the informative work you have carried out on this build and landscaping, it looks fantastic and you certainly work to high standards as I also try my very best to achieve.
One thing concerns me though, and that was the timber bbq? How will this survive, i really thought you was going to introduce some metal side screening....
Another lovely job boys . Now I understand why this stuff is so pricey . There’s a lot of work goes into it that’s never seen 👌🏼🧱👍🏽
Cheers guys, that means a lot 😁
It's true that artificial lawns can be pricey, but the time saved on maintaining a real lawn could definitely outweigh the cost in the long run.
Take care.
All the best, John 😊
Build With A&E 👌🏼🧱👍🏽
buildforce ne landscapes if you need 50 m2 then yes ! 🧱👍🏽
Well done lads
Wow great job nice finishing just I have questions can I put the artificial over than driveway will be ok or there batter option
Excellent video.
BEAUTIFUL JOB guys .... what timber surround is that?? looks gorgeous .... 🤩
Good video thanks helped alot 👍
To be honest that’s a great job 👏
👍👍
Great to watch. What depth of sharp sand should be put down?
Very nice, well done
easy peasy nice video well done chaps
Glad you enjoyed it Kenny 👍🏼
Did mine about 5 years ago I was told to use a tile batten around the edge and do the base like block paving (wakering higher than needed and screed it off to the right height ) was really hoping you show me a better way of securing the edges down did you say you usually just use those 4 inch staple like pegs? . The battens I've used have al expanded and the ants have had a party underneath so I need to relay it all . I didn't use that top layer which maybe an anti insect product so I'll have to use some of that stuff too. great work guys you always turn out great work
Every job you and team do is perfect 👌
You’re workmanship is excellent, also another great video John 👍
Thanks for watching 👍
Great job that 👏 what depth of sharp sand do you lay before you comact it?
Loved it mate 👌
Thank you! 👍
Great video! I'm looking to cover an area 4m x 4m. How much MOT and sharp sand will I need? I'm struggling to find that info anywhere.
Looks good i'm only looking to buy one roll of astroturf to use as a border around a small pond i'm building in the back garden. They have some turf that have all these brown bits and a nice pale green color which makes it look like natural grass at the range by me so i'll get that.
I was wondering did you ever find out why the client didn't want it all pinned down?
Amazing thanks for sharing. X
You’re welcome 😊👍
now that is a proper pro job
Thanks for watching. Have an awesome Christmas! 👍
Spot on John nice job really finishes it off, when are we getting more videos from the massive house renovation havant seen any for a while stay safe 👍🏻
More on the way, thanks for watching 👍
Gotta say looks great 😀
Thanks for watching 👍
Really useful video guys. Simple, to the point and easy to follow. Great job, thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it Dave! Have an awesome weekend! 😊👍
Hi there, looks fantastic. Please can you shed light on which type of lazy lawn it is, i.e. wonder yarn / lazy sovereign etc ? Cheers in advance
Love it, great job! Any on advise on convincing the misses to get artificial lawn instead of a traditional lawn?
NO one will have to mow it or pay for landscaping company to maintain, no weeds, no worries about it looking brown in the hot of summer, and its last for 10 years, just broom it once in a while and add some sand to make sure the grass is straight up and not laying down.
End result looks great. In my years of doing grass tho I do question the sand. Other than that. Great. The project as a whole just looks sensational. Not a large area but you have made the most of it and it looks a great place to go and relax.
Hi John thanks for your kind words, there are different views about sharp sand and just using granodust it’s a good shout but my years of experience tell me if there are any issues with the application not being followed by the manufacturer specifications we don’t have a leg to stand on thanks for watching all the best Tony 👍 have a awesome weekend
Build With A&E if lazy lawn have told you that then fair enough. But go look at how lazy lawn actually lay theirs. I’ve been on LL jobs and they do not follow their own guidelines. I’ve seen grano lay at 60mm on top of soil. Even tho the job has been sold with MOT. their grass is great, especially wonder yarn but I would have them install it.
EDIT: I will add tho, the problem isn’t with LL as such. The problem is their franchisees.
Hi John so true Bud I do wonder why they change the installs practices so times, we had that many years ago on a wooden floor which specified a 6mm Gap we questioned it and asked why it wasn’t 10mm a year later after many emails they paid us to relay it with a 10mm gap 😂 I do wonder some times, all the best Tony 👍
How you cover the steps of installing to the T you made it look like a Diy so that and handy man can lay turf. I would to be able to put this on my web site if that's thanks ok.
Brilliant, really love the way you tackle a job without cutting corners. Thumbs up and a sub from me! 👌🏽
Thanks for watching 👍
Mega Very informative
Glad you liked it Jim 👍
Looks really good
👍👍
Birds and bees will love this
Very impressive!!
Hi Kieren thanks Bud all the best Tony 👍 have a awesome weekend
Top quality job as always👍👍
Thanks denty32 😁😁😁
All the best, John 😊
Hi, a great video, it's my first time laying artificial grass, we have a similar size garden, however we've lifted the old membrane that was underneath and it's full of old sandy/muddy stone, could I reuse that as my MOT type 1 sub base? Or would it be better ordering new stuff in? Thanks
beautiful
Thank you! 😊
thank you.
Thanks for watching Sarah, take care 👍
Great thorough video, hope you don't mind if we share this installation video with our customers.
Absolutely guys, feel free to embed this video on your website - as long as it's the version that links directly to this video that's no problem! Feel free to email us on media@aeconstructionltd.com to discuss any further details.
Hi guys, Your work on the lawn is 1st class! I'm wondering if you would be so kind as to guide me on what sand you used to infill the lawn?
Hi Steve much appreciated kiln dried sand all the best Tony 👍
GREAT JOB, WELL DONE. Do you do work in the Reading area?
Hi Guys, can you please put down the steps for the layers?
1. Sub base? What is best sub base?
2. Dust? Which one you recommend?
3. weed membrane?
4. Turf
Can I use weed membrane 1st
Next
Great job and great video! How do you get the grano dust at your preferred level of edging? Every time you compact it down it compacts slightly below the edging level right?
Brilliant
Thanks for watching 👍
great stuff! is there a tutorial video on the raised garden bed shown in this video?
ruclips.net/video/Vc7D572VBg4/видео.html
Here you go 😎👍
Look good mate whats the purpose of sprinkling sand over the top?
what is your finished level after the 6mm is wacked down to allow for the turf, do you aim for the turf to finish flush or proud of your edgings
found the video very interesting, i am getting my grass replaced with artificial turf in a few weeks, so i was watching as many videos as i can to make sure it was getting done properly
in the ones i have watched they are using glue round the edges to hold artificial turf in place but you don't could you explain why you don't glue edges, thanks
Great video production and good looking installation. Great instructions.
Thanks for watching 👍
holy mackeral..heck w the grass ..how'd ya do the perimeter mate?
Thank you
👍👍
Hi. Can you use sharp sand ontop of the grass to keep it down?
Hi John, very impressive n smart work ! Where can I get those concrete edges from. Are they paving bricks ?
Glad you enjoyed the video.
The client sourced the edging sets from BPS, in Leamington Spa. They really do work well with everything.
All the best, John 😊
Lovely job!!! :)
Thank you! 😊
Looks great do you cover the London area ?
Excellent work bro love to watch your videos are very impressive 👏
Thank you 👍
Great video John.
Would you be able to do work in Cardiff?
Would you?
Great job John what's the depth from the top of the brick set to the finished granite dust. Cheers John
Hi Richard,
The measurement depends on the thickness of the grass. We set them so the blades of grass were around 10mm higher than the edging sets, so you wouldn't stub your toes.
Hope this helps?
All the best, John 😊
Quality work as always guys 👍. But I can't understand why the client wouldn't want you to pin the lawn down? In future the lawn could shift or the edges could be kicked up
V good job
Thank you! Cheers! 👍
Top job lads, looks pukka
Have you got a hardcore base flat and levelled before applying the sharp sand base?
Thanks man
You're welcome! 👍
Looks great, takes a lot more preparation work than I thought.
Doesn’t it need to be fixed down tight or it seems it would just be like a big rug and able to move?
I would say yes, but its got 8kg of sand per square metre weighing it down.
Hi Roddy Pryce,
It is worth pinning the edges down, however providing that you apply enough sand, it shouldn't move at all.
Hope this helps.
All the best, John 😊
Is the top of grano dust the same level as the paving or slightly lower? Cheers
Slightly lower by 5 to 10mm
Will kneeling down and walking on the grant dust created diverts or will it hold weight of a big bloke?
How does it drain?
Great effort ✅✅✅👍👍👍💞👌👌👌
Thanks for watching! 👍
Does your area to undertake this extend to the South East of UK
Excellent video John, well done! What I also like about you guys is, you all wear a uniform, I think that’s important to look professional. Nothing worse than a gang of lads turning up all wearing old scruffy work clothes! 👍👍👍
Hi Ted,
Glad you enjoyed the best.
I totally agree. It doesn't take much to keep yourselves looking presentable, and it installs confidence in the client.
Thanks for watching.
All the best, John 👷🏼♂️
Hi John, is there another name for the weed membrane? I'm in Australia and can't find anything..
So it’s not stuck down on the edges at all? I’ve got an area that needs doing in my garden just want to knowledge myself before giving it a go
Quality job 👏 prefer a natural lawn but no doubt that would have been impeccably laid also! Keep the vids coming please, always great content.
Hi Danny,
Thank you for your kind words.
As long as people keeping watching, we'll keep creating 😁
All the best, John 😊
Hoy do i go about getting a quote from you guys ?
The moment the customer asks for no pins I’d have issued the end of driveway guarantee 😂
I recommend a timber border bedded into the sand and aggregate. Then you can use screws to fix the edge down. It will ruck up 100% if you don't
Yeah that’s what I had heard, do you pin it to the timber?
Thats what i do and we lay it the other way so if you was to look out of the house at the grass your looking into it not the way they've done it
Can we jump or do some sports over the artificial grass?
I have paving slabs and a drain in the middle of my garden, weeds tend to grow in between should I apply weedkiller then the membrane then sharp sand? or should I follow
your video
It cant hurt. Use the weed killer
Great workmanship,,although tbh I have seen more realistic artificial lawn before.
thanks for uploading, great job! how deep a layer of type 1 do you need to put down?
Sorry, made comment before watching video fully :)
