especialy for MSG fans Chris Glenn (B) Ted McKenna (Dr) Tommy Eyre (Key) "ASSAULT ATTACK" recording members and the second guitarist is Mick O'Donoghue (ex. GRAND PRIX)
This was shot at Canecão, an old venue in Rio the Janeiro, in 1990. I was there. It was a great concert. Ted wears a Flamengo shirt, the most popular soccer team in Brazil that is based in Rio. It was cool to Flamengo supporters.
Ian Gillan - Nottingham, England 24/08/90 1. Gut Reaction 2. Demon's Eye 3. Living For The City 4. No More Cane On The Brazoa 5. I Thought No 6. When A Blind Man Cries 7. No Good Luck 8. Lucille 9. Smoke On The Water Ian Gillan - Vocals Steve Morris - Guitar Ted McKenna - Drums Chris Glenn - Bass Tommy Eyre - Keyboards Dave Lloyd - Backing Vocals Mick O'Donoghue - Guitar
This is long before MSG. The first solo albums Ian Gillan made after he left Deep Purple included Ted McKenna and Chris Glen. This is probably taken in 1977 or so.
1990. And that's Steve Morris on guitar. The full concert is avail here on YT, with one of the best versions of When a Blind Man Cries Gillan ever did.
the 1977 line up of Ian Gillans band did not have this personel, Ray Fenwick was guitarist then, Gillan at that time was into jazz/rock, he returned to rock with the Gillan album Mr Universe 79/80
I was trippin. I was looking for MS and thought that the guy to the right was him. Then I thought, why was MS playing the lead guitar? Makes sense now. Still, a great performance. I was looking for Paul Raymond too.LOL!
@Jimboefocodiad What, i don't see Bill Murray anywhere, I do see one of the best Rock Vocalists in the history of Rock/Heavy metal, mister Ian Gillan best known for his work with Deep Purple and Black Sabbath, if you want to hear the real power of his voice i would recomment Child in Time or Fighting man, he realy goes to the extreem performing those songs.
Interesting - where is Michael in the MS fucking G line up you stated here on this video??? Never heard of a Michael Schenker Group without Michael - is this some south american advertising shit?

The concert in 1990 was cancelled due to a fire in Canecão. (No smoke at the Guanabara Bay however :-)) I think this is 11th of May 1992-concert.
My mistake. You are right, @nickvanderburg . It was in 1992.
Great performance of easily, on of the best rock and roll songs ever.
BORA MENGÃOO!!
R.I.P. Ted McKenna.
Ted Mckenna (R.I.P)😭
Hi kuojiao, It was recorded long after MSG. It was actually for a TV show in 1990. Chris and I never recorded with Ian Gillan. Ted Mckenna

I Was there!!!
Steve Morris is awesome here. Gillan is on and rested. Rhythm section flying.
I agree. I am mesmerized by Steve Morris' guitar playing. I loved his guitar solo on this song !!
Gillan great in this song. Vocal chords still good!

hahah I liked very much see the Ted McKenna with the Flamengo soccer team.
MSG with Michael Schenker sleeping
i still have that concert on original video tape ...
Where the Ted McKenna found that Flamengo soccer team t-shirt?
It´s a popular soccer team but´s it´s funny he wearing that
Ian Gillan is the best
Anything with almost three fifths of SAHB (Mr Eyre appeared on later albums) has got to be pretty good anyway.
the 1977 line up of Ian Gillans band did not have this personel, Ray Fenwick was guitarist then, Gillan at that time was into jazz/rock, he returned to rock with the Gillan album Mr Universe 79/80
Jazz???????
@@BarrettB49 yeah dude. Check out Clear Air Turbulence, Five Moons, Money Lender. It was more jazzy heavy rock.
@kuojiao This is when he was sacked from Deep Purple and replaced by JLTurner. in 1991. The 2 albums he did were Naked Thunder and Toolbox.
VAI MENGÃO
... yes, you are right; MSG means "Michael Schenker Group", and without him, there is no MSG ...; quiet simple, ... perhaps simply for us ...
I was trippin. I was looking for MS and thought that the guy to the right was him. Then I thought, why was MS playing the lead guitar? Makes sense now. Still, a great performance. I was looking for Paul Raymond too.LOL!
MENGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
o.k. but where is michael schenker????????????
Y el final? 🙄
😂 ridiculous… but Ian told him to go wild on the drums… 😬🤷♀️
Haha! Flamengo's t shirt! That's one of the most popular brazilian soccer teams!

JP Also Ted McKenna and Chris Glen - greates Drummer and Bass player combo in rock!
It's Gillan, all right. His trademark red pants lol.
Wow Michael Schenker sure looks like Tony Iommi these days
Actually looks like Geezer Butler, but I believe it's Steve Morris.
Iommi is leftie
MSG?? LOL!!
Or SAHB!
Interesting - where is Michael in the MS fucking G line up you stated here on this video???
Never heard of a Michael Schenker Group without Michael - is this some south american advertising shit?
+George Tempest I believe this is from the Gillan band based on gillan's vocal style at the time
LOLWUT
The worst MSG line-up ever... thank God Gillan pulled it off!
SHIT MSG Michael Schencker Group or Mcauley Schenker group. I see no from this Persons.
scham0912 Then you’re an idiot! Ted McKenna on drums and Chris Glenn on Bass - both members of MSG!
