Define integrity within music. Your comment makes little sense. Gillan were big in the UK and Europe but couldn't break America because of the music scene being different from what Gillan offered, who were more left field and idiosyncratic.
Gillan did a handful of decent albums in the early 80s. Mr Universe and Glory Road stand out, Magic and Future Shock had some decent tunes. Later on in the 90s, Naked Thunder and Toolbox were good ones too, Still listen to them all today. Colin Towns is a great musician.
I remember reading about Gillans band in Hit Parader in the seventies, and as a Deep Purple fan I looked everywhere for thier albums but never found any.

This wasn't very long after Ian told Bernie Torme that if he didn't join the band for their appearance on Top of the Pops , he could start looking for a new gig. Bernie never showed up for the trip, and Janick was in. This was sometime in 1981 I believe, the year of my birth ironically. Janick was great on Double Trouble and great on the uneven final Gillan album Magic. Those two albums and a handful of times the most recent Iron Maiden albums are his greatest claims to rock stardom.
