that is such a great idea. thank you for sharing this. I wouldve never thought of that.
I’m so glad more people are coming out about the ACTUAL way a person can lose weight. We don’t NEED injections or medications to lose weight, most of the time. Most of us just eat TOO DAMN MUCH. And too much processed and fake foods
There is nothing wrong with taking medication. If eating less was easy, we wouldn’t have an obesity problem
@@aoutsky there’s nothing wrong with taking medications FOR YOU! I’m not trying to yell, but trying to show we all want different things for our life, and that’s okay. However, some people don’t mind being at big pharmas mercy, but I don’t want that to be my life. Yes losing weight and maintaining is hard! BUT being obese and even severely obese is hard too! They’re both hard, you gotta choose your hard. And if you know you’re emotional eating, you’re halfway there, don’t know your belief system, but ask the Lord to help you and maybe think about getting a counselor to get to the root of your problem, hope this helps anyone!
Some ppl have insulin resistance and gain weight no matter what said medicine targets that
@@graciousgrace7509intermittent fasting can help with that! Now if you’re hormones and stuff are out of whack, you should probably discuss that with your healthcare provider
You are so right! Our culture is fast instead of eating right. We are not raised to gain any nutritional habits like let’s say the eastern countries. I can’t speak for all Americans but yup, I eat too damn much or not the right stuff. I do t want to take meds and need to do better. That’s why I am here to listen and learn. ❤❤
40 yrs old??? Guurl, I’m 33 sitting here watching you thinking you were some 23 yrs old😂😂❤❤ Okay!! Now I’m really motivated ❤❤

She looks 40 maybe late 30s. 40 is still young especially for a black woman.

I started intermittent fasting yesterday. And now I am seeing videos on intermittent fasting. This lets me know that I am on the right path.
let me know how it goes.
@healthyinformation I'm still currently intermittent fasting. It is not bad, but it has only been a week. I thought I wouldn't make it, but I am doing good. I am less hungry in the mornings, and the fasting has increased my water intake, which is a major plus. I want to slowly incorporate exercise but I am not there yet. Starting next week, I am going to incorporate stretching.
@@changes649 sound perfect then. Stretching is a great place to start that part
From what I've seen, isn't it just eating once a day every other day? 🤔
Or that the internet is listerning.
I lost 108 pounds and did 1 hr workout every other day like probaly 3 days out the week I would dance, and that’s it I lost 108 Lb in 7 months and yeah my doctor was shocked and yeah I did omad, alternate day fasting, and tons of fiber and water, and yeah I had a big ton of challenges as a teen at 307 Lb but I’m 190 Lb and I’m very healthy
Good job ❤❤❤
So happy for you!! You should be very proud of this accomplishment.
What kind of dance did you do ?
Wowww I'm so proud of you! When I was a teen I always danced and it kept the weight down all the way int my 20's and early 30's. So, I need 100lbs off now myself. So you recommend ADF? I was thinking of that.
When you do omad what do you drink during the fasting hours?
Steep tea every day. Substitute sugar with raw honey for sweetener. If you want iced tea, steep it then chill it. It helps kickstart metabolism, replaces sodas and other sugary drinks, and gives the body a ton of antioxidants. You can see results in as little as six weeks if you drink one 16.9oz serving every day. Cheers.
I started intermittent fasting and changed to a whole food plant based lifestyle and it’s been a game changer no cravings for sweets since I cut out refined carbs, sugar, and processed foods. No calorie counting, I’m full longer & I still eat good food but with medicinal properties. I was losing without exercise but I incorporated walking to keep the blood flowing and now starting strength training. I have so much more energy and I’m never going back just wish I would’ve done it sooner. The processes stuff has addictive components. Diets, moderation did not work for me but this I’m doing for life. Was diagnosed with T2D in June but not to the point of needing medication so I’m working on reversing it and never having that diagnosis again. 37lbs down
A lot of Dr's dont know squat about weight loss, fitness, and nutrition. They hardly teach it in medical school, and its the same antiquated info. There're lots of women in their 40s, 50s, 60s and 70+ transforming their body and building muscles with strength training
They would lose a lot of customers/$$$ if they told us how to not be obese!!!
True!
Yup… you can lose weight and get toned at any age. Also if you were an athlete in some form a fashion decades ago your body has muscle memory and will look great again. Start slow and build up.
I did not loose weight on Keto. I was shocked. I've been IF-ing before it was a thing to do. I was never hungry in the morning, so I didn't eat breakfast. I'm actually in the process of losing weight that I put on due to my PTSD and even though my BMI is Obese, due to IF my labs are pristine. I have chosen light Pilates and stretching and So far I'm 28 pounds down. I don't really stay off my cravings, but I try to see if there is a healthier option. If not then I remind myself on what is my why. That's been helpful for me.
That is awesome. Did you start your light Pilates at home or do you take in person classes /groups.
@@Cantetinza17 congrats on your Weightloss!! Wow 28 pound down is amazing ❤️🎉💪🏾
Did you do strict clean keto though? Products that say keto on them dont always help you, and if you have way too much fat like dairy, that’s a lot of calories to consume. You won’t lose weight with keto if you’d fill eat more calories than you burn
@ROXELL I did do strict Keto. For exercise, I was doing 21 Day Fix from Beach Body. It just didn't work for me. 🤷🏾♀️
@@Cantetinza17 I did 21 day fix and I lost weight with that, but 21 day fix isn’t keto, they allow 1 cup or more of carbs per day

I agree with you 80-90 percent of fitness is what you put in your mouth and how much of it. With that said, I completely recommend some form of strength training training(weight lifting or resistance bands) along with cardio. There is such a thing as “skinny fat”. When someone loses a significant amount of wait but they don’t look healthy and they don’t have any muscle tone. Strength training is beneficial in so many ways. Strengthening not only your muscles but your bones as well. Adding more lean muscle to your body helps slow down the aging process. Weight lifting boost metabolism, lowers the risk of cardiovascular disease, balances blood sugar levels, boost mood, strengthens bones, lowers blood pressure, improves sleep, burns fat, improves posture, etc. the list goes on. At 45 I went back to the gym and at 52 I have more muscle than I ever did in my twenties.
Thanks so much for watching! You are absolutely correct. I discuss many of these exact points in another video I have called “ lose weight and keep it off for good”. Strength training is the fountain of youth!! I typically recommend starting a fitness journey with low intensity steady state cardio so that cortisol levels don’t shoot up. Also most people who are overweight likely need to improve their cardiovascular health. However progressing to incorporate weight training, even a few days a week, is a must!
Being healthy is more about maintaining mental and emotional health.
Exercising helps with confidence.
Give you reward signals in the brain.
Teaches you discipline and consistency.
Believe in yourself and know you are RESPONSIBLE for your health ✨️
I Intermittent fast as well, and I really do think that helps and I also do a month without sugar or two weeks without sugar sometimes 2 months without sugar 🦋😘. Thank you 😊
💯 Truth l am currently on weight loss medication and been on the lowest dose. I am getting off of it soon cause it actually my diet. So far I have been eating healthy and completely cut out all junk food that I ate.
Great video, I just turned 40 last month and I am starting to incorporate strength training and ADF back into my lifestyle. This pooch has got to GOOOOOOOOOO
This is so true! Believing it first is key. Also, loving my body at every stage helped a ton. Next thing you know the weight just started melting off.
The physical activity (weights) is so that you make your body stronger. You’ll feel better.
Eating less calories than what you burn will add to weight loss.
Seek medical advice before intermittent fasting and one meal a day. For some… this could mess you up. For many it’s fine. Best to be sure.
Balance in meals is important. This lady is correct. Blood sugar spikes can be managed by the foods you combine when you eat. There are cgm blood glucose monitors out there that help you keep track of what spikes your blood glucose. If you can get a cgm… do it.
The journey can be intimidating… but can be done.
Edit: Nov 2023 - Today: 44 lbs lost. I’m 57 years old. Was skinny most of my life. Gained weight during Covid… so glad to have it off of me!
Good luck everyone and may God Bless us All!

@@memedicine1 hello. Thank you for watching. So glad the Ashwagandha is working for you!
Diet is 80% key You’re absolutely right. I lost 77lbs in 30 days eating organic fruit and vegetables in smoothie format with lots of SeaMoss gel, along with a 16/8 intermittent fast.
Oh and I was 254lbs to begin with. Genetics is no excuse
high protein and Healthy balanced meals combined with resistance training. no yo yo dieting. People fast and gain the weight right back because for a lot of people it’s not sustainable. The problem is people are eating junk, not enough Whole Foods and proteins and are not resistance training.
Thank you for giving tips on this! I was doing personal training and found out I have an issue with discs in my neck. I lost a lot of my progress getting stuck in my head about this new diagnosis and realized while I started feeling better by working out, I wasn’t losing any significant amount of weight. I fasted yesterday over 24 hrs and proved I could do it. I will continue implementing fasting in my routine 💖.
I think just about anything works if it's what works for you. The key to any diet is to stick with it. I go with calorie counting and I eat pescatarian. No meat but I do eat eggs, dairy and fish.
It's amazing how much food you can eat when there's a lot of veggies on the plate. Not one size fits all, just find what you are willing to stick to.
Intermittent fasting would actually take your "diet" to another (BETTER) level. Just saying. 💯
Love your short and informative videos! 💗
I intermittent fasting everyday only eat twice a day with low carbs but during my menstrual cycle. I eat three meals and snack. I did keto but got bored but with low carb and fasting daily less cravings and my body feel like am 18 years old. I do exercise at least three times a week but if I don’t no worries with the fasting my weight hasn’t come back
How many hours of fasting do you do daily?

Lost 80 by using all of the above, but I could never eat 3 meals a day I realize that I am thirsty so I juice. Snacks are out for me I never cared for them. I'll juice for 3 eat 2 all fruits and veggies no fast food ever it's a no brainer. I totally changed my food thoughts to a positive lifestyle change not just to lose but to eat to live
congratulations

This is actually great advice! 👍
I think the excessive working out is for people who just like to eat whatever they want. I met a guy who would always eat anything but was ripped. He told me to just workout and balance what you eat, but if you workout enough it won't bother you. He used to be obese. I finally took his advice and it works
What I'm doing now!
Too old to deprive myself. Smaller portions, less sweets..ex: cut a donut in half or even better a quarter. 1 or 2 meals a day, more raw veggies, work our 5-6 days a week. Working!
The one time I lost a lot of weight, that's what made it easier for me.
I enjoy working out... I'm not a fan of cutting out foods I enjoy.
You said the main word mind set. Gotta change your mimd set and discipline
Wow! All Great tips! Thank you so much for sharing!
I’m surprised your Dr. said that! My mom started weights in her 60s and gained 20% lean mass as well as improved her cardio vascular health significantly. Is it easier when you’re younger? Yes. But it’s still possible as you are older as long as you still have good mobility.
You look amazing!! Wow, there is a different with being in shape and having weight. Wow!!

Been thinking about keto just because it goes against what heart doctors used to recommend about too much saturated fats.
So, over the long term, it may not be that healthy.
It just never sat well with me.
IF does and I have heard a resounding chorus of advice from fit people, "abs are made in the kitchen" like +80% just like you said.

just got off a 36 hour fast bout to start another this evening.
Intermittent fasting does not work for me. Counting calories and a caloric deficit works. For me the workout is for mindset, fitness and strength which is as important as weight loss.
Yes one of the points of intermittent fasting is to be in a caloric deficit. If you’re still over eating and eating the wrong foods in a short window it defeats the purpose.
@@nicolew9419 that's very true. But I find that I'm usually so hungry that I tend to over eat. I've even done Omad for a month and still didn't lose more than 2 kg which was insignificant compared to the 'suffering' of hunger I went through. Plus I'm usually irate and very depressed when I'm fasting so all in all it's not even sustainable for me.
@@augustacookeygam5579 ok that makes sense, you definitely don’t want to feel miserable.
Someone can do all the intermittent fasting but if they overeat on their eating window, they wont loose weight, when you add insulin resistance + hormonal issues/ PCOS it becomes harder.Weight loss is not a one size fit all.The best way is to do what is best and what works for our health and body. @@nicolew9419
A lot of ppl who say IF doesn’t work doesn’t do it correctly. It’s not about just eating it’s also not drinking. Not consuming anything that will spike insulin which is anything other than water, black coffee or plain tea. It gets a lot easier in terms of hunger the more you do it. For me personally it works way better than counting calories cuz I don’t even have to count calories doing IF. I lost 55lbs doing IF 18:6 and OMAD. I got off and maintained and now about to start it up again to lose another 50lbs then I’ll be done.

This was a great video with lots of great insights, but idk if I’d call medication a crutch especially for people with lifelong chronic conditions.
Hello. Thank you for watching! I simply meant Glp1 medication should be “considered a crutch or support”. They work because you are not hungry … and therefore do not eat. The medication itself is not “curing” any medical conditions. They is very beneficial for type 2 diabetics in controlling blood glucose levels and insulin production…. But again… this can be done with diet and exercise. I have bed- bound patients whom have lowered their hemaglobin A1c with diet ALONE and are no longer type 2 diabetics.
The goal with these medications should be to use them WHILE making dietary and lifestyle changes so you do not have to remain dependent on a medication (especially an expensive one) long term. ❤️
🎯True. I lost 40 lbs in 3 months with no exercise at all. I ate four small healthy meals a day, with a 100 calorie snack about an hour to two hours after each meal. I was full all day and too full to eat anything else after 6pm. I would eat a slice of pizza OR a kid's cheeseburger OR something fried ONE day a week and ate veggies & fruit on the side. I drank a glass of water before every meal and snack. I would have one non-water 8oz beverage a day. So, you definitely can lose weight by just eating better.
I lost 10lbs doing nothing. After moving I didn’t have food available to eat anyhow and I ended up losing the weight in days. After I went grocery shopping, game over. Been stuck at my weight. 😂 Fasting really is the way to go

Hey my wife😊
Just eat only at 2pm and lighter berries strawberries at 3pm, and was going to supplement about 4pm and try to get 1700 to 2000 calories within 4 hours.. Then eat a lift protein high fat no carbs snack at 8pm round 250 calories or beer liquor if your hoping to party without the 8pm protein snack. Do not attempt to eat again till 12 hours later or 2pm again which is 18 hours later for best results. Do light stomach and body strengthening exercise to help promote burning a fat in those key areas while fasting. Never work out after eating
