  • Helen Hunt Falls is located in Colorado Springs’ beautiful North Cheyenne Cañon Park. The 1600-acre city park, established in 1885, has great hiking, beautiful scenery, and two visitors centers, one at the park's entrance and another at the base of the waterfall.
The waterfall is about three miles from the park entrance. There is a paved parking lot and a free seasonal visitor center that is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Helen Hunt Falls is named after Helen Hunt Jackson, an author and advocate for Native American rights in the late 1800s. She is a hometown hero with a lasting legacy.
After enjoying the waterfall, take a short hike up Silver Cascade Falls Trail to an overlook with stunning views of the canyon and Colorado Springs.
North Cheyenne Canon Park is not far from downtown Colorado Springs, the Broadmoor, or Garden of the Gods Park. It is free, easy to access, and offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Check it out!
