BASITH PH except less comfortable, worse interior, less space, less doors, worse build quality. But better in being cheaper and more reliable long term.
Not as usable as a GTI, interior of the Veloster is dime store cheap looking except for the steering wheel. It beats the GTI in performance by a small margin for now, but the the MK8 GTI arrives early next year with significant performance upgrades which will surpass this N.
@@RossMKF1 Worse build quality? Let me know when VW will stop putting plastic propellers on water pumps so I can say they're quality again. For some odd reason, they kept the plastic water pumps since the 4th gens. If this was any other manufacture like Toyota, they would've learned to not use plastic but years later into the 7th gen, still plastic pumps. Just boggles my mind...
PiroFyre Yea that is pretty petty on their part I was more so meaning interior fit and finish, door closing sound, steering wheel feel, the seats etc. Again though I did state in terms of reliability the Hyundai is a much better buy.
Definitely the Velo N. Better interior, customizable everything (steering, suspension, exhaust, throttle, rev match, etc). Looks more badass. More powa. Idk if the ST has an LSD but make that a consideration if not. I also make the case that you should support a company for making things that you like. When you buy new, it sends the message we want them to make more. Buy a new Velo N and Hyundai will keep producing fun cars. Buy a used ST and it sends a message nowhere. You can't get a new one, in the States at least. I am arguing with myself between the Velo N and the RS only because a used RS is the same price... if the Veloster was AWD it would be so perfect. I do love a yellow ST though

Probably has something to do with the Honda being out longer. I know time flies, but it's already 2 years old. Honda's already made their money off the "early adopters" so now they can afford to sell them at or below MSRP. Older cars suck on price vs. performance in every way. Old cars are for people with nostalgia or people who are too young to know better. I am 47 and can tell you cars are getting BETTER per dollar every 5 years or so.
I really like the look, but they should make it a 2 door or a 4 door.
John's S2K i like the concept but i wish it was 4-door because i often find myself thinking the pax side is attractive while the driver side looks awkward.
If it was a 4 door I would definitely look in to it. Not bad
I'm waiting for the Elantra GT-N. Overseas you can get the i30 N, so it's a matter of time.
Well it does have a door to get into the back seats. So its kind of like a stealthy 4 door
@@matthewlongtin4148 the Elantra gt-n isn't going to be any faster then what it is now. Same motor same horsepower. The "n" package is just for looks
I like the 3-door design, gives the driver a long coupe door for better outward visibility, while making it easier for passengers to get in and out of on the passenger side.
@@Saltinator No, a GT N, not N-Line. it'll have the same engine as the Veloster N and i30 N. Look up the i30 N reviews, you might want one too.
I give this little 4banger 5 years before serious internal problems with all that boost
So by that logic, a Mercedes-AMG CLA45 would only last 2 years?
Powertrain warranty is 10years I’d happily accept a brand new engine for free in 5 years
So ford , Chevy , dodge, BMW, benz, honda have same problems??
Only 15lpsi.
Good
Almost identical performance numbers to the 2009 Cobalt SS. I wish ya'll would post RRR lap times with every car.
Siiick!..
I own the 2016 turbo. Just waiting to see one of these in the junkyard so I can liberate the 2.0 engine and transplant it into mine!
Jesus Christ 6 tons.. of a gas. Think about how much space 6 tons of something literally as light as air takes up. For one 4 banger. IDK it just hit me, that is fucking insane.
사고싶드아............
N's the word 😂
I have the 2019 R-spec (201 hp turbo) and I like my black wheels so much better than this thing's wheels.
I have a 2018 Elantra Sport with the same engine. I absolutely love my car. :D
Those black wheels are offered as an option for the Canadian market! They do look fantastic on the R-Spec. That's a very nice car Gary! And you don't have to burn premium........
Norman Anderson you don’t need premium in the volester n either.
no heated seat available in the us!!! ;(
yk It is strictly a performance car. Not meant for anything else.
@@oxouk I know. But it's too unfair that hyundai doesn't offer those options in the us market unlike Canada and korea.
@@sdoberma There was two set heater buttons on either side of the shifter
@2:15
@@jpwilliams5264 good eye dude. So is this us version with heated seats then?
That grill 🤢
It looks good at least a lot of air can get through there unlike the Civic R where its restricted which many have complained about over heating problems and transmission grinding.
The same could be said about yours
Better than a GTI in every way
BASITH PH except less comfortable, worse interior, less space, less doors, worse build quality. But better in being cheaper and more reliable long term.
Not as usable as a GTI, interior of the Veloster is dime store cheap looking except for the steering wheel. It beats the GTI in performance by a small margin for now, but the
the MK8 GTI arrives early next year with significant performance upgrades which will surpass this N.
Jesse James GTI has dulled down recently the Veloster N is better in performance and price
@@RossMKF1 Worse build quality? Let me know when VW will stop putting plastic propellers on water pumps so I can say they're quality again. My friend a couple years back with a 4th gen GTI had to get his pump replaced because it overheated and broke and then a friend with a 7th gen replaced his for the same reason.
This or focus st?
This 100% way more car....this or focus rs ..this is deff better then st
😆 focus st...
I like the Focus ST a lot. But the N is a superior car IMHO. From a performance perspective, IMHO the N w/ PP is effectively an intermediate between the ST and RS.
Too bad it don't have heated seats
This plays like an infomercial from the 90s. Yikes.
Am I the only one that absolutely hates that blue color? It's just bad. The car looks amazing in the other 3 colors, though.
I really, really disliked it when I saw pictures of it...my immediate thought was "someone threw bleach on a RS". Then when I saw it in person I liked it so much I wound up opting for it.
@@npaul4171 I'll have to see it in person then
@@njoythedrive Yeah it's worth checking out. I do not know why, but practically every picture you see of it looks like a slightly different shade of blue...and then in-person it looks completely different from all of the pictures. It's one of those colors that looks vastly different in a photo vs in-person.
This is what the type r should have looked like.
Went to 3 Dealer's to compare price
Honda type R $38,064
Veloster N $37,465
That's only $599.00 Difference.
This is Ontario CA.
Also noticed that Honda is willing lower the price compared to Hyundai.
Probably has something to do with the Honda being out longer. I know time flies, but it's already 2 years old. Honda's already made their money off the "early adopters" so now they can afford to sell them at or below MSRP. The Veloster N *just* came out...I'm willing to bet if the model is still around in 2021, (and mostly unchanged) brand new Veloster Ns will be selling at or below MSRP - just like the Honda is now.
I got mine at MSRP in FL so $10k less...
@@ragingbull94mtx
Hello,
I agree the salesman told me that right now there are very few out there and maybe 2 per dealership max.
So I may wait till October and check them out again.
I'm in Seattle and half the dealers are selling the performance package at msrp
$37,465 asking was really extreme....many dealers are selling at MSRP or doing minor discounting. N's without the PP are definitely being discounted or asking MSRP...
Why is this guy yelling at me
It’s going to be a sad day when this guy passes :(
Only if I can take the veloster N specs. And put in the older Veloster body. I'd be a happy camper. I'm just a fan of the older body type.
