Once again, another great tutorial that cuts to the chase in half the time others do. You make the complex moves simple. This is such an awesome effect and your method teaches how to drive what is already available within After Effect's extensive library. There is a great danger I think in being overwhelmed by the massive choices available, and a huge temptation to copy because that's what everyone else does, yet try to achieve individualism at the same time. There is clarity to your teaching. My goal always, either in Premiere Pro or After Effects is to tell the story with soul, passion, intigue, make it compelling and told with enthusiasm. Dunno where that came from, I guess I feel inspired!

This is great! I've been looking for this for a while. But is there a way to remove the big circles of the flares? I have a longer word and it get's a bit distracting. I've changed the LENS TYPE to 35mm but it's still a bit distracting. Thank you! You are one of the best!
Don't think it could be removed easily, you could mask them out I guess
Great tutorial thank you! Having an isuue with my lense flare not lining up with the stroke path. I think it might be because i scaled up my mask layer but I tried scaling my lense flare layer by the same amount and nothing lines up still. Anything i should try? Thank you
Layers should be the same scale to begin with, that might be the issue
@@SmertimbaGraphicsYou are absolutely correct, I was trying to scale the black solid up after copying the mask path. Needed to have my solid layer matching my mask layer first - thank you!!
hi I have a small problem, the thing is on my animation I have a white screen, but it acts like a small annoying filter . Do you have a solution pls ? (I see the animation and I did everything you did )
Maybe the glow is too bright, reduce the brightness of the flares

You could increase character tracking before you add masks
I have an issue with the lense flare, when I stack them up onto the text mask they show an opaque look onto the text mask below obfuscating the layer, how can I fix this?
What color is the text that you stack lense flares above?
@@SmertimbaGraphics I deleted the text layer after traceing it and using only the traced layer, no text underneath, the effect works on the masks as it should but the lense flare layers for some reason create this half opaque artifact outside the masks

I have made the animation but i wanted to ask if i can change the colour of the text now that it is gone in the animation... i can't seem to edit it
You can add fill effect to the text layer and change the color that way

Then you would need to start over, because the outline layer is not a text layer anymore and you can't change it

How can i change Text in Project file your provided?
If you change the text then you need to redo the process for new letters, it won't automatically adjust
Did the tutorial 3 times from start but my lens flare ball only appears at the inside of the letters; anyway; guess i simply have to keep making more tutorials :) I am getting faster though and understanding more and more ... 👍🙏
Hmm, maybe the scaling of the layers is wrong, I am sure you will get better at it with time, best of luck 😊

There are other apps available on mobile, sadly not after effects

Not sure, the reveal works with strokes. But you can implement write on effect on top

The flare for my first letter is filling rather than outlining. Do you have any idea why that is happening?

My Flare with not follow the path time (i set about 10s for my text 0% to 100%)
copy the path and paste it only 3s
Move the end keyframes forward to 10seconds

No, unfortunately not

You can't remove the background here, but you can add a new solid layer as a background by placing it at the bottom and give it any color you want
@@SmertimbaGraphics Well I've got a moving/animated comp. which I wouldn't be able to place under those solids right? It has to be a solid, + you could use gradient ramp or other effects
You can place anything as the background under those layers, as long as the modes are set to screen

It is hard to explain, but you can create stuff like that with particular plugin
