Amazing watch! I myself have a The Citizen watch which is accurate to +-5 seconds a year. It looks pretty similar to the GS! I would be curious to see more comparisons between The Citizen and GS quartz watches on RUclips, both when it comes to long term durability and material quality. There are a few out there, but not a lot.
@@WornDownCrown I have the AQ1000-58A. I suppose if you want the closest possible comparison, you could have a look at the CTQ57-0955, CTQ57-1202, AB9000-61E, AQ1000-66E, or the AQ1000-58E. In terms of newer models, AQ4060-50E could also be an interesting comparison, that being said, this particular model has a larger, 40mm size, unlike the others I listed above, which are between 37 and 38.5.
An enjoyable video, thank you! I have the SBGA203, basically the spring drive version of yours with a different bracelet. I couldn't love that watch more. Don't let anyone tell you that quartz watches should be avoided! GS quartz watches shine above any other brand. You've got an ideal GADA piece that will last you a lifetime and can be passed onto someone you love. I'd love to add a quartz GS to my collection sometime. Thank you for sharing!
I looked up the reference, that’s a killer watch sir. Love that you’ve got that piece. One day I’ll be adding a spring drive to the collection as well. And to your point about quartz, I totally agree. No one does quartz like GS.
Hello there , could you please measure and let me know the size of the sapphire crystal ? Just to get an idea of the dial size . Also what’s your wrist size ?
Great watch! This GS is the quartz watch I’d get if I were in the market. I’ve never understood GS’s philosophy on their bracelets…why not just engineer a high-quality, adjustable bracelet that fits well?
To me the SBGX261 is is understated yet 'perfect' design. But therin lies the problem - it's so perfectly 'a watch' that it comes full circle to generic. The problem is that it's so understated it almost lacks any identity. You could replace the Grand Seiko on the dial with Citizen, and it'd arguably fit better than the GS. It's the archetypal 'Quartz Watch' taken to extreme, inoffensive perfection. (and I actually quite like technologically impressive Quartzes) The only actual 'flaw' is the poor clasp. Other than that it's functionally THE perfect watch. It just lacks any distinctive character and ends up feeling like something a career middle manager in an office would buy on their first promotion and wear everyday until they retired. Perfectly adequate but has no passion, and it really stands out when you look at other Grand Seikos just how out of place that is in their lineup.
You were coming to hunt for my soul when you said the words “career middle manager would buy.” 😂😂 I think you’re spot on with your description though. It is the perfect watch, bracelet aside, so perfect that it loses all character. There’s a reason I made a second video about what the watch actually means to me, because objectively, when you look at it for what it’s, it’s a stainless, black dialed, smooth bezel quartz watch. You’re definitely not going to win any points for originality if you wear this piece. And if you want this watch to have character, it has to be strongly associated with a precious memory.
Picked up a AMZWATCH's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!
Nice review. Haven't been able to find much info on the crystal and amount of AR coating. I love clear crystal. Appreciate if you could comment on this.
I bought this popular video watch from MAMACOO , which was originally priced at a few thousand dollars, but now it's only $160! It's really suitable to pick up feces!

Put it on A 19mil leather strap to have great adjustment.
I completely agree this is one of the best quartz watches on the market today
Thank you! You really get what you pay for. Good bracelet, nice design, robust movement

Agreed. The lack of micro adjustment really bothers me regarding the bracelet, otherwise I wouldn’t have a problem with it

Do you find that the legibility is good despite the minute & hour hands looking similar, at least from the pictures I see online..?
I have zero issues with legibility as far as the length of the hands goes
I bought mine last year lovely F962 quartz movement,
I’m glad you like yours too man. Any other GS’s you own?
Coworker just got this last week for $1440 on ebay and it looks awesome.
@@cmatz175 congrats to him! You got any GS’s?
@ I have the SBGV245 and the SBGA211 snowflake. Both are awesome but never get worn much so I listed them on eBay for sale

@@perthguitar5160 I can’t speak for how much coating is on the crystal, but in daily use it’s very clear.
@@WornDownCrown Thanks for that.
I own the watch as a part of my rotation with my Tudor black bay 58. It’s very legible and is ar coated on the underside

Hey man are you Marco Rubio's younger brother?
You’re the second person to say that… 🤣
