If you don’t mind automatics, the sbgr287 is 37mm with a “snowflake-like” dial and blued second hand. It comes on a GS leather strap (which I actually prefer to their bracelets) but for a couple of hundred £ most ADs will include a bracelet. I think it’s a JDM model but worth asking your local GS boutique about.
Just got the SBGX 259 and I absolutely love it. At 37mm and 10mm thick it fits perfectly on the wrist and bears a striking resemblance to the Patek Philippe Calatrava for a fraction of the price not to mention unmatched accuracy. Sometime in the future I’ll fit a dark alligator strap but for now I’m very much pleased with the quality of the ss bracelet. GS hit a home run with this one!

It was bang on from what I recall. if you look at the dial off axis, it sometimes looks like it’s missing the markers. I’d recommend actually inspecting the watch before purchase if you think it would bug you a lot. 👍
Man I really do believe I'll own a 9f GS at some point. I just have to get my mental maturity in order. Every time I get to the point in my head where I imagine myself purchasing one, I panic because it's quartz lol. It's really dumb because I know the 9f quartz technology is amazing, but somehow I'm not yet ready make such a rational decision yet. So tell me bro, do you love your GS quartz as much as your automatics/Spring drive?
I totally understand where you're coming from. I too, had this block in my mind some time ago. And while I really, really, REALLY like this piece, I can't say that I like it as much as my high beat/Spring drive pieces. Those are just a bit more special. However, I think I'd put it on par with my Oris Pro Pilot 😉
On the 19mm thing: There are 100s of reviews on scores of watches in which the reviewer complains about the rarity of 19mm lugs. Let's all think about that for a moment.
The 19mm lug size on some GS watches has never bothered me. For one, I tend to wear them on their respective bracelets/straps. After all, you're paying good money for the bracelet as well, and they're good but some have a hard time sizing them. Also, I have several watches, usually at least 4, so I can wear a different watch instead of changing the strap. In a pinch you can squeeze a 20mm nato into a 19mm lug width I've come to find out. I would upgrade straps on cheaper watches that came with rattly bracelets, but not my GS bracelets those I find to be good looking and super comfortable. A lot of GS watches are not strap monsters either. And finally there are lots of options for you if you search 19mm watch strap, if you really wanted to still change it.
Amazing video! Recently got myself an amazing GS as well (the oh so elusive SBGA435) and it even inspired me to start my own watch channel, feel free to check it out :)

@@engineer_wannabe that really helps a lot mate! 🍻
On the 19mm thing: There are 100s of reviews on scores of watches in which the reviewer complains about the rarity of 19mm lugs.
Let's all think about that for a moment.
Haha that's a great point 🤣 I seem to run into 19mm LW watches constantly. Most of my strap collection is 19mm
What do you wear more the white dial or black ?
White dial, I no longer own the black dial 👍🙂
It's probably okay to wear it with t-shirt and jeans what do you think..?
Yes, absolutely 🙂👍
I think the steel bracelet makes it look great when worn casually!
The SBGX looked great until you put it next to the SBGY003. On video the SBGY is the clear winner for me but both look great.
Haha it's hard the beat the SBGY003. I was trying to showcase the great value of the SBGX by putting it next to the SBGY 😝
Amazing video! Recently got myself an amazing GS as well (the oh so elusive SBGA435) and it even inspired me to start my own watch channel, feel free to check it out :)
Congrats my friend, that is a stunning piece!! Will watch your video soon ❤️🙌
@@engineer_wannabe Cool, thanks in advance for watching! Love your GS collection by the way, especially your hand-wound spring drive!
I love GS watches......I do....but I also really dislike .....their bands! A consensus opinion....when will they wake up? I know they are well made....but they still are the weakest part of the brand....Grand Seiko.
I've heard GS is working on updating the bands. Not sure if for all models or just their higher priced items.
Just to be clear, although they may give you some xtra credits, owning or wearing a GS doesn't make you more Japanese, or even Asian.
Affordably priced. I think they’re about $5,000 in my country. I would not call that affordably priced.
