Chrysler was one car company that sold new boots for tie rods, ball joints and pitman arms. They offered in many models that shocked me as I had 1 SnapOn tool box with nothing but pullers, pushers and other special stuff like tilt steering plus seal drivers and frost plugs driver set to be used in a vehicle but works with engine out. GM engine degreaser contained diesel and kerosene with napha solvents. Simple green and product from “Kleen Strip” cleaner and their concrete/metal cleaner converts rust into phosphorus coating turning rusty metal black. I use inside doors over the large plastic bin with plastic sheet taped to doors. When suspended, using an
A/C pump with volume control, can clean and saturate the welded repairs and OEM pinch welds. When allowed to dry, I place a plastic wrap on a detail spray gun with plastic sleeve on arm (Ronco-Seal-A-Meal) Cut plastic sheet to shape and heat seal edges making a long plastic glove to spray epoxy thinned to seep into pinch welds. I bought the professional internal frame & rocker wax sprayer. It’s a metal pressure pot with disconnect for 5 different hoses and tips. If you think of welding “GMAW” or “GTAW” is burns paint or “E-Coat” inside every repair. It’s now open to water, moisture and dew formed from moisture in the air when temps swing hot & humid to cool or cold. Like dew on the grass found on your way to the mailbox, this drips inside metal, gas tanks and especially diesel. Fill the tank, add “Sta-Bil” in the tank for long term storage. This mixed with fuel, keeps the octane up, forms a layer on top of the fuel to seal off evaporation and fuel degrading!
Little things go a long way like dielectric grease on rubber door seals to hydrate them, plus keep them from freezing shut in the winter. The owner Manuel points this out in maintenance after oil types and other fluids. Best of luck with your project, & thanks kindly for sharing!

Matt, still working on your 67? I might help as not only do I have. But doing select parts, GM disc & Calipers and added P/S on a frame not made to have one!
