I love them both , but Gentaro has won ny whole heart. He is the most sensitive caring , naughty at times but he really just wants his mom's love and all attention. It shows how he trys so hard to make his dad proud of him. He is just a beautiful soul. And a great big brother. He will also make a beautiful soulmate with Annie. Beautiful babies they would have.

@@detlefhunger5610 annie is Shabani’s daughter, she was also raised by humans and reintroduced to her troop.. her mother does not recognize her as her daughter but her father loves and dotes and protects her. her grandmother has been attacking annie since she was a baby and her father has always had to save her. She gets along great with her brother Kiyomasa who is just about Gentaro’s age. She is very silly and fun, she is also an alpha type as now that she is 9 years old she challenges her grandmother nene and gets her in trouble with her father in purpose. Her brother sticks up for Nene because Nene is his mother. Shabani’s mates are Nene and nene’s daughter Ai.

I love Gentaro! He's naughty and playful. Incredibly attached to his little brother Kintaro, whom I love as well. A bit neglected by his mom, though. When he looks right into the camera, his expression is so human-like. Sometimes, sad.
I love both Kiyomasa and Gentaro equally. Gentaro is beautiful with a combo of mom Genki and dad Momotaro. He is sweet and sensitive. If you look at the video of Momotaro when he first came to KC zoo you will see what Gentaro is going to look like as a new Silverback because the similarities are uncanny. I hope both boys are able to be mated with a lovely young lady and are able to start their own families as they both will make wonderful leaders and dads.
I'll go for Gentaro.. He has that sweet kinda of sadness eyes exactly like her mom which made me drawn to him. He is naughty lately but somehow can be a sweet son and brother too
They both dote on their mothers, they both play well with their siblings and respect their dads. But I have a feeling Kiyo is going to be massive like uncle Haoko, and he's also got dad Shabani's impish character. Gentaro would make a good mate for Annie someday, but I think Kiyomasa deserves a whole troop of females somewhere. If I have to choose, It's Kiyo for me. I just wish I were a multibillionaire so I could set up a huge sanctuary for all of them somewhere.

Imagine how big Riki is going to be. I think Riki will dwarf both Kiyomasa and Gentaro. Rikis father (Haoko) is gigantic 524lbs, Rikis mother is Momotaro mother, Momotaro is second biggest Silverback in Japan at 428lbs Monta 424lbs Shabani 418lbs and others are under 400lbs
They are both great but my choice is Gentaro. He's an extremely caring son and brother. I think he will be fantastic as a father. I predict he will love his spouse and his kids and want to play with them. Momotaro is an exceptional father, very patient and a great example of a father because he respects his wife. I know Shabani is a great father but I find he often teases his females which makes them often angry. So when it comes to respecting your spouse, I think Gentaro will be better at it. Gentaro was hand raised for the first 10 months but his mother immediately took him back. In this Kiyomasa, has the advantage of being breast fed but altho he plays with his sister, they are of equal age. Gentaro is I believe 6 yrs older then his little brother, so he has the advantage of caring for a young baby and knowing how to adjust his strength when playing with dad vs brother. I don't know about Kiyomasa but Gentaro is also very smart. Of course my favourite gorilla family is Gentaro's so I may be bias but trying not to be. His mother is truly exceptional!
Watched the Momotaro family since the beginning of covid. Shabani family off and on. Gentaro also, maybe biased too. Each have their own unique qualities. Momotaro's father passed early. ♥️🦍♥️🦍♥️🦍♥️🦍♥️. Gentaro had a difficult time adjusting to Kintaro was very jealous of Genki spending so much time with baby. 7 year difference btwn siblings may have contributed to that. Yet Gentaro is much better adjusted now. Opinion.
I care for both but in different ways. I am sad for Gentaro and sometimes amused. Im happy for him when he is getting his needs met. Kentaro is a baby. Who doest love a precocious baby. He is confident and flies like a bird.
First his mother isn’t exceptional. She after Kintaro was born, pretty much forgot about Gentaro no love or attention and Momotoro can never ever compares with Shabani as a good father and Shabani teases his wives but they are in very good shape unlike Genki with her huge belly
7:42 Gentaro looks extremely Sad. Living at this zoo is doing nothing for him. Their inside/outside enclosures are so small and no enrichments for them at all. Gentaro is Beautiful and Handsome. Would Love to see him have a mate and family of his own. He had a rough start in life and was taking away from his mother for 6 months. His mother really never had a close bond with him. He watches his little brother having a close bond with his mother and this has to wear on him. You can see it in his eyes. Extremely Sad. Please help Gentaro find a mate. Please.❤
I truly love both of them but if I had to choose only One, I would absolutely choose GENTARO.. Most definitely.. He is seriously a genius gorilla & has a heart of gold.. He's rowdy, cute & really funny at times.. I love his personality. I really hope he is set up with Annie someday. I think they are perfect for each other & have one big thing in common: they both he & Annie, raised by humans for the first 10 months of their lives.. I think that they'd do great together & make a great troop together 💙 💖
I just have to add another comment... The thought of Kiyamosa being separated from Annie (his partner in crime) and the rest of his family is unfathomable. AND, the thought of Gentaro being separated from his little bro Kintaro and family, just breaks my heart. The only solace is that they put Gentaro and Annie together as a couple, so many of us have been championing for that, it would be a travesty not to. But what to do with Kiamosa, so many of the gorillas are related in Japan then they need to bargain and outsource elsewhere. I just hope where ever he goes there will be someone to capture videos of them, as I have watched all of them grow since little babies.🤞🦍🤎🖤🤍😍😘

Both are beautiful animals, but I favor Gentaro. He is a very intelligent, clever boy. He is also a sweet, gentle, sensitive soul. He hasn't had a traditional upbringing, really. His father, having grown up without a father of his own, has had a few missteps trying to raise Gentaro. Many times, he has punished Gentaro for things he didn't do. Gentaro has no siblings his own age, which inhibits some of his social development, and he becomes frustrated, causing him to misbehave occasionally.
Yes to everything you just said. Also, Gentaro was raised by keepers for his first 10 months, eventhough he was accepted back into the family group, I'm sure some of the bonding that would have naturally occurred when an infant was lost. I don't see the closeness between his parents and him as I do with his little brother, Kintaro, but he does extremely well nonetheless. Kiyomasa was raised by a showboat type of father (Shabani), so mimics a lot of those behaviors, while Gentaro has the quieter, younger, learning as he goes type of father.
@@RockinLocks4u yeah Gentaro pretty much spent 7 years by himself. I mean Momo would play with him but I doubt it was really as often as Kintaro/Gentaro play now. And like you said, Genki & Gentaro just never had the same bond she does with Kintaro which is sad but he would’ve died if the keepers didn’t rescue him.. but 7 years being an only child had to be so saddening for the young guy. I watch older videos and get sad seeing how alone he was growing up.
There seems to be a lot of misunderstanding about the relationship between Gentaro and Genki. Watch this video of a zookeeper at the Kyoto City Zoo. We upload a video every year on the family's birthday. Gentaro was placed in artificial care, but after he was returned to Genki, he was raised with the same care as Kintaro. This is very rare, thanks to Genki's maternal strength. Annie is also artificially nursed, but her mother Ai does not recognize her as her own child. With Shabani and Kiyomasa's follow-up, we are able to live as a family. Also, it took a long time before Kintaro was born, but during that time, Genki spoiled him just as much as he spoiled Kintaro. As for Momotaro...he grew up without knowing his father and became a father early at the same age as Gentaro, so he is not as paternal as Shabani.
I love the mountain gorillas, they are usually peaceful souls . Many times I look at their faces and forget that they are animals because they act so human . You can tell they are in deep thought I often wonder what they are thinking.

Kiyomasa was lucky to have Annie growing up with him his whole life. Gentaro spent 7 years pretty much by himself only being able to play when Momo was in the mood. Just watching the old videos before Kintaro was born, Gentaro just looked so sad and lonely. Also extremely bored.
They're both wonderful.... But the Momotaro family has a special place in my heart. Gentaro seems to want the attention of his parents so badly. I hope when he moves on he is able to have a big family all his own.
Love my Gentaro, but Kiyo is my favorite one to watch grow up and become a great silverback. He been trained very well by Shabani, whereas Momo hasnt had much to do with Gentaros training to become great silverback. Hard question!
@John Wright I agreed!!! I live in Japan , near of Momotaro and Shabani . Last week I visited Shabani, for the first time and I very impressed , how cleaning 🧼 is the closure . And they have a great space outdoor and indoor . After meet Shabani, my heart is breaking every time I watch Momo family . It’s a disrespect with this magnificent animals keep them on this tiny closure . I hope in a near future, the kyoto zoo move them from this closure. A few years ago Shabani family, also lived in a tiny awful closure . Thank God 🙌🏻 the Higashiyama zoo move them , now they look much more comfortable and happy !!!
You forgot to show how smart Gentaro is studying with his computer and playing with his human dad and keepers. But this was a great video anyway...Good job👌. I love them both. Kiamosa is so goofy like his dad and he also shares his food, that entire troop does, and that is very unusual. Gentaro, my heart goes out to him ,he seems so sad sometimes, he had a rough start and then to have his mom and dad all too himself for all those years before Kintaro came and then to be basically pushed aside...and still he loves his brother and is gentle with him. Yes, his frustrations showed up with his mom, but he is jealous, anyone would be. I adore them both as I love all my troops...Gorrillas are just phenomenal and we need to do our best to help take care of them. It's so easy to sit here and make comments and judge them and others, but it would be better I'f we maybe sent what we could to help anyone of them. 🦍🤍🖤🤎😍

Kiyomasa is the golden boy, both of his parents love and nurtures him. He has a loving sister and an indoor/outdoor enclosure Gentaro could only dream of someday having. However, Gentaro has won my heart. He is my golden boy. Gentaro is extremely attractive, has a beautiful, caring, and nurturing spirit, has an outgoing personality and is a math prodigy. The love he lacks getting from his parents was replaced by Miss Yasui and Mr. Nagao, his human surrogates. More importantly, Gentaro and Kiyomasa will one day have families of their own (God Willing) and both will become the best husband, father and protector they can be. These two up and coming silverbacks will one day make Japan proud. For now, let's just enjoy watching them grow up.

Both boys are good, it is difficult to compare them Kiyomasa is a warrior, and Gentaro is a philosopher, Gentaro's quick wit is very captivating when he works on a computer, there is no limit to my admiration. Momotaro's family would like more natural living conditions.

Kiyomasa is closer to his dad & seems to be more independent. His love for his little sister - Annie is sweet & he shows her love quite often. Gentaro is a bit of a spoiled baby with far less maturity & independence than Kiyomasa. However I treasure the love Gentaro shares with younger brother, Kintaro. Sometime Gentaro can also be so sweet to his mom & dad, but then the next day he seems to lash out at his entire family. . .ahhh, like when my boys were going puberty. Honestly, I believe Kiyomasa & Gentaro have equal places in my heart; just like my boys. . .I loved them the same & @dmired each for who he was.

He certainly is amazing with his much younger brother, hope he gets to have a family one day. Sadly there are so many gorilla's in Japan that won't get mates because they are related.
They both have distinct characteristic but my heart is Gentaro's. I think becuz Momo did not grow up with a father it is harder for him to display affection often. Momo is gorgeous! Very stoic and stern. I think Gentaro will look alot like him as he grows older. Momo reminds me of my father. My father was just like that! Very stern, had an amazing stature and his affection was very reserved. When I watch Momo it takes be back to my memories of my dad.
Mmm I love Gentaro so much…😍😍😍 Gentaro reflects sadness on his face, I think he has always and desperately tried to get his mom and dad to pay attention to him. Sometimes Momotaro misunderstands Gentaro's games with Kintaro and seems very hard on him.
Although Gentaro is a bit rough on his Mother at times, He is still my favorite. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Kiyomasa, but the question was which do you prefer. From the looks of things, Kiyo may actually develope into a Silverback before my boy Gentaro, but time will tell. Wish there were more females for these boys but there is a worldwide shortage of non related mates for all of them.

I truly love both of them but if I had to choose only One, I would absolutely choose GENTARO.. Most definitely.. He is seriously a genius gorilla & has a heart of gold.. He's rowdy, cute & really funny at times.. I love his personality. I really hope he is set up with Annie someday. I think they are perfect for each other & have one big thing in common: they both he & Annie, raised by humans for the first 10 months of their lives.. I think that they'd do great together & make a great troop together 💙 💖
Gentaro is my gentle best gorilla boy. He will make a great partner and father. Annie was also human raised. They would be a great family one day.

I just have to add another comment... The thought of Kiyamosa being separated from Annie (his partner in crime) and the rest of his family is unfathomable. AND, the thought of Gentaro being separated from his little bro Kintaro and family, just breaks my heart. The only solace is that they put Gentaro and Annie together as a couple, so many of us have been championing for that, it would be a travesty not to. But what to do with Kiamosa, so many of the gorillas are related in Japan then they need to bargain and outsource elsewhere. I just hope where ever he goes there will be someone to capture videos of them, as I have watched all of them grow since little babies.🤞🦍🤎🖤🤍😍😘

Both are beautiful animals, but I favor Gentaro. He is a very intelligent, clever boy. He is also a sweet, gentle, sensitive soul. He hasn't had a traditional upbringing, really. His father, having grown up without a father of his own, has had a few missteps trying to raise Gentaro. Many times, he has punished Gentaro for things he didn't do. Gentaro has no siblings his own age, which inhibits some of his social development, and he becomes frustrated, causing him to misbehave occasionally.
Everything you said, Jossette, is so very true about Gentaro. I love both boys too but Gentaro is my favorite.

Yes to everything you just said. Also, Gentaro was raised by keepers for his first 10 months, eventhough he was accepted back into the family group, I'm sure some of the bonding that would have naturally occurred when an infant was lost. I don't see the closeness between his parents and him as I do with his little brother, Kintaro, but he does extremely well nonetheless. Kiyomasa was raised by a showboat type of father (Shabani), so mimics a lot of those behaviors, while Gentaro has the quieter, younger, learning as he goes type of father.
@@RockinLocks4u yeah Gentaro pretty much spent 7 years by himself. I mean Momo would play with him but I doubt it was really as often as Kintaro/Gentaro play now. And like you said, Genki & Gentaro just never had the same bond she does with Kintaro which is sad but he would’ve died if the keepers didn’t rescue him.. but 7 years being an only child had to be so saddening for the young guy. I watch older videos and get sad seeing how alone he was growing up.
There seems to be a lot of misunderstanding about the relationship between Gentaro and Genki. Watch this video of a zookeeper at the Kyoto City Zoo. We upload a video every year on the family's birthday.
Gentaro was placed in artificial care, but after he was returned to Genki, he was raised with the same care as Kintaro.
This is very rare, thanks to Genki's maternal strength.
Annie is also artificially nursed, but her mother Ai does not recognize her as her own child. With Shabani and Kiyomasa's follow-up, we are able to live as a family.
Also, it took a long time before Kintaro was born, but during that time, Genki spoiled him just as much as he spoiled Kintaro.
As for Momotaro...he grew up without knowing his father and became a father early at the same age as Gentaro, so he is not as paternal as Shabani.
I agree Shabani is very paternal and plays with his children but Momotaro does not interact as much with his children
I love the mountain gorillas, they are usually peaceful souls . Many times I look at their faces and forget that they are animals because they act so human . You can tell they are in deep thought I often wonder what they are thinking.

Kiyomasa was lucky to have Annie growing up with him his whole life. Gentaro spent 7 years pretty much by himself only being able to play when Momo was in the mood. Just watching the old videos before Kintaro was born, Gentaro just looked so sad and lonely. Also extremely bored.
They're both wonderful.... But the Momotaro family has a special place in my heart. Gentaro seems to want the attention of his parents so badly. I hope when he moves on he is able to have a big family all his own.

Love my Gentaro, but Kiyo is my favorite one to watch grow up and become a great silverback. He been trained very well by Shabani, whereas Momo hasnt had much to do with Gentaros training to become great silverback. Hard question!

@John Wright I agreed!!! I live in Japan , near of Momotaro and Shabani . Last week I visited Shabani, for the first time and I very impressed , how cleaning 🧼 is the closure . And they have a great space outdoor and indoor . After meet Shabani, my heart is breaking every time I watch Momo family . It’s a disrespect with this magnificent animals keep them on this tiny closure . I hope in a near future, the kyoto zoo move them from this closure. A few years ago Shabani family, also lived in a tiny awful closure . Thank God 🙌🏻 the Higashiyama zoo move them , now they look much more comfortable and happy !!!

You forgot to show how smart Gentaro is studying with his computer and playing with his human dad and keepers. But this was a great video anyway...Good job👌. I love them both. Kiamosa is so goofy like his dad and he also shares his food, that entire troop does, and that is very unusual. Gentaro, my heart goes out to him ,he seems so sad sometimes, he had a rough start and then to have his mom and dad all too himself for all those years before Kintaro came and then to be basically pushed aside...and still he loves his brother and is gentle with him. Yes, his frustrations showed up with his mom, but he is jealous, anyone would be. I adore them both as I love all my troops...Gorrillas are just phenomenal and we need to do our best to help take care of them. It's so easy to sit here and make comments and judge them and others, but it would be better I'f we maybe sent what we could to help anyone of them. 🦍🤍🖤🤎😍

Kiyomasa is the golden boy, both of his parents love and nurtures him. He has a loving sister and an indoor/outdoor enclosure Gentaro could only dream of someday having. However, Gentaro has won my heart. He is my golden boy. Gentaro is extremely attractive, has a beautiful, caring, and nurturing spirit, has an outgoing personality and is a math prodigy. The love he lacks getting from his parents was replaced by Miss Yasui and Mr. Nagao, his human surrogates.
More importantly, Gentaro and Kiyomasa will one day have families of their own (God Willing) and both will become the best husband, father and protector they can be. These two up and coming silverbacks will one day make Japan proud. For now, let's just enjoy watching them grow up.
I wish people would stop trying to comparing these beautiful creatures or making others do the same. Every single one is unique.

Both boys are good, it is difficult to compare them Kiyomasa is a warrior, and Gentaro is a philosopher, Gentaro's quick wit is very captivating when he works on a computer, there is no limit to my admiration. Momotaro's family would like more natural living conditions.

Kiyomasa is closer to his dad & seems to be more independent. His love for his little sister - Annie is sweet & he shows her love quite often. Gentaro is a bit of a spoiled baby with far less maturity & independence than Kiyomasa. However I treasure the love Gentaro shares with younger brother, Kintaro. Sometime Gentaro can also be so sweet to his mom & dad, but then the next day he seems to lash out at his entire family. . .ahhh, like when my boys were going puberty. Honestly, I believe Kiyomasa & Gentaro have equal places in my heart; just like my boys. . .I loved them the same & @dmired each for who he was.

But it was amazing to watch Annie’s Father be so Loving and protecting her .And now she seems to protect him when the others are mad and chasing him. Both Families are so Special and Love watching both. I Hope Both Families will have a new baby. I know Nene is probably to old , But Ai and Genki hopefully will have a little one soon. They both have distinct characteristic but my heart is Gentaro's. I think becuz Momo did not grow up with a father it is harder for him to display affection often. Momo is gorgeous! Very stoic and stern. I think Gentaro will look alot like him as he grows older. Momo reminds me of my father. My father was just like that! Very stern, had an amazing stature and his affection was very reserved. When I watch Momo it takes be back to my memories of my dad.

Mmm I love Gentaro so much…😍😍😍 Gentaro reflects sadness on his face, I think he has always and desperately tried to get his mom and dad to pay attention to him. Sometimes Momotaro misunderstands Gentaro's games with Kintaro and seems very hard on him.

Although Gentaro is a bit rough on his Mother at times, He is still my favorite. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Kiyomasa, but the question was which do you prefer. From the looks of things, Kiyo may actually develope into a Silverback before my boy Gentaro, but time will tell. Wish there were more females for these boys but there is a worldwide shortage of non related mates for all of them.
