Tamidol is watching from above and she is very very proud of Dalila,in my opinion sister Nala would of done great job as well,from the get go little struggle but Tamidol raise smart children,Nala would of figure it out in no time,and i beleive Nala had feeling that her mom is dying,the last 2-3 weeks before she died,Nala spent a lot of time with her mom and little Makongo,not only bodyguarding but also kept and eye and learning from her mom how to take care of a baby,but good for Nala that Dalila is there so she can learn little more,in the future Nala will be a great mother,same as hers,the Great auntie Tamidol💔✌🏻

Dear friend, I have some good news to share with you. Dalila is now less resistant to the silverback approaching her and the baby. Although she still holds onto the baby tightly, she actively moves closer to the silverback. We're looking forward to the moment when Dad Lomako can be with his baby son!♥️🦍🙌🙌🙌😍

Started to watching due to Mokongo and the tragic loss of his mother. But I have fallen in love with Dalila and the caring way she has adopted the baby. The gentle soothing pats and the way she protects him from the rowdy males. The stink eye she gives them seems to ward them off. It is amazing how the group respects her. She is such a kind and gentle being. I sure hope the keepers are giving her extra treats during bottle time for Mokongo as she seems to miss out during the group snack time.
Queen Dalila has won all of us over🙌👸🦍♥️👍. Her love, her regal majesty, and everything about her show us that she will definitely be able to raise baby Makongo well💪. Every one is different, but most mothers don't let them get too close for a while. Some are more trusting though and some silverbacks are especially interested and loving to their offspring.

Yes, all the male gorillas in this troop have been castrated, except for Lomako. The castration decision was made by the EAZA, so the zoo is following orders. The decision was made so that surplus males can stay in their family groups without being aggressive toward the silverback. When the baby is this age, the mother usually makes a conscious effort to keep the baby separated from the silverback, limiting their interactions to ensure the baby's safety😘👶🦍♥️. Lomako doesn't get upset about this; he understands his role and knows he just needs to wait for the baby to continue growing up healthy. Lomako is a wonderful father.🦍♥️💪

Castrating selected males prevents them from going through puberty. They will be able to stay with their family groups rather than creating conflict. They have a continuing role in the family.

Generally speaking, family members in the LOMAKO Troop aLL Appropriately maintain a Healthy Respect for the Silverback, just as is the Dynamic in other troops. Therefore, they’re Not so much Afraid or wary of the Silverback as they’re Recognizing his Leadership Status within the Gorilla hierarchy 😊

Dalila rarely eats when she's outdoors, unless it's something she particularly loves, like tomatoes🍅, red peppers🫑🌶️, or nuts and peanuts 🥜.
Please don’t castrate Makongo, it will fundamentally change him and not in a good way.
