      With the exception of plain normal monkeys that are WAY over populated in alot of these Asian countries...the other primates are SO much more intelligent and obedient!! Their moms can focus on training them with love instead of harsh do!! I can't stand baby monkeys! Most are hideous brats!! The other primate are SO much more loveable in every way!!😅😂

    Tamidol is watching from above and she is very very proud of Dalila,in my opinion sister Nala would of done great job as well,from the get go little struggle but Tamidol raise smart children,Nala would of figure it out in no time,and i beleive Nala had feeling that her mom is dying,the last 2-3 weeks before she died,Nala spent a lot of time with her mom and little Makongo,not only bodyguarding but also kept and eye and learning from her mom how to take care of a baby,but good for Nala that Dalila is there so she can learn little more,in the future Nala will be a great mother,same as hers,the Great auntie Tamidol💔✌🏻

Don't come close to the baby! 😄 Poor Lomako can only get a glimpse of his son from a distance 12:23 for now. In 3 to 4 months Lomako and son Makongo who will be shy of 1 years old will be playing together in the hay. Lomako is a gentle silverback, and often plays with the naughty 🤭 mangabeys.

    Started to watching due to Mokongo and the tragic loss of his mother. But I have fallen in love with Dalila and the caring way she has adopted the baby. The gentle soothing pats and the way she protects him from the rowdy males. The stink eye she gives them seems to ward them off. It is amazing how the group respects her. Just curious have the other males besides Lomoka been neutered??? If so why??? If you don't know that's ok I was just wondering.

    • @AllThingsGorilla
      @AllThingsGorilla  18 дней назад +12

      Yes, all the male gorillas in this troop have been castrated, except for Lomako. The castration decision was made by the EAZA, so the zoo is following orders. The decision was made so that surplus males can stay in their family groups without being aggressive toward the silverback.
      When the baby is this age, the mother usually makes a conscious effort to keep the baby separated from the silverback, limiting their interactions to ensure the baby's safety😘👶🦍♥️. Lomako doesn't get upset about this; he understands his role and knows he just needs to wait for the baby to continue growing up healthy. Lomako is a wonderful father.🦍♥️💪

      @patriciamorgan8359 18 дней назад +6

      @charlesmccoy5857 births of male and female gorillas is about equal. If all the males are allowed to become silverbacks there won't be enough females available for them to lead their own troops. Castrating selected males prevents them from going through puberty. They will be able to stay with their family groups rather than creating conflict. They have a continuing role in the family.

      Great comment 👍🏽 I suppose one could say that Dalila is so-called wary of the Silverback because she’s in **Protective Mode** for the Safety of baby MaKongo; which is considered the norm for “new Moms”. And just as when Tamidol was alive, her daughter Nala would instinctively serve as an XTRA layer of “protection” between her and the Silverback, again for the Safety of the baby. Generally speaking, family members in the LOMAKO Troop aLL Appropriately maintain a Healthy Respect for the Silverback, just as is the Dynamic in other troops. Therefore, they’re Not so much Afraid or wary of the Silverback as they’re Recognizing his Leadership Status within the Gorilla hierarchy 😊

      The silverback's overwhelming strength establishes his position in the troop, and since it's feeding time, they all intentionally avoid him.♥️🦍💪

    Did they absolutely have to euthanize Tamidol? Nene the 52 year old Gorilla from the Higashiyama Zoo was injured but still alive and in recovery. I wonder if they didn’t give her enough time?

      I am heartbroken over Tamidol's passing as well🥹💔, but I am not part of the medical team and cannot answer your question. I, more than anyone, wish that Tamidol could have stayed with her baby son forever🥹👶🦍♥️🙏🙏
