@robinwitkowdki Loango and Mosi will never become silverbacks because they have been castrated🥹. The lack of male hormones affects their muscle growth, so they don’t have the impressive muscles that silverbacks do. The decision to castrate them was made so that surplus males can remain in their family groups without being aggressive toward the silverback. This decision was made by the EAZA, and the zoo is following orders🥹
He is a castrated male sadly, he and Mosi both are otherwise they couldn’t be there if they were intact with the Silverback. Not sure if there’s anything else wrong with them but both look the same so I’d say it’s the lack of male hormones during the time they grew to adolescence
@@robinwitkowdki silverbacks cant coexist. Not even relatives. Theres a zoo i think in maybe prague where there is 2 silverback brothers and they battle constantly. The friendship between brothers growing up is temporary. Once they mature their entire being is all about strength, survival and dominance in their primitive world. So getting them “fixed” is pretty common if males must live together. Some of you might be familiar with ringo and jabali. Right now they are only 3 and they play a lot. As they get older they will naturally transition to being fierce adversaries with each other and their father djeeco. They will need to be separated at some point. Doubt that zoo will castrate them.
See, I really hate hearing that for a number of reasons. First of all, that’s against nature. They are supposed to be providing them a home as close to nature as possible.
