    I bought and am putting it through all the tests. So far it is the best rotary blade i have ever used. I have cricut, silhouette and brother. 🧑 love the touch screen. The software is basic but i signed up for the plan for the free 30 days. Not sure i will keep that but with the ability to import my own designs it is fine. However once you import a design you can not manipulate the design in the software. So you need to have all your measurements figured out ahead of time. I do wish they would work on the software for that issue. I had found about 21 issues when i first used it but have dwindled that down substantially once i figured things out. However, did not find the Singer customer service very knowledgeable about the product or the software. They refer you to videos which are very short and not detailed enough to really get much from them. Still continuing to learn. Just hope they put more into educational videos and software updates. So far i am still on the fence about the product. I will say it is a very pretty machine and the lighting is amazing.

      I too have the other products you mentioned, besides being a proud owner of the Singer Momento. And you’re correct, the software lacks functionality and needs improvement, which will happen over time. As for the support, Singer released the Momento before anyone had been trained - sadly. However, there is an update that support has been undergoing training since the time I wrote this comment. Yes, there will be a lot of improvements in the next months, along with many updates to the software. I highly recommend holding on to your Momento and allowing the support and software improvement process to take place. Like you said, it is a good cutter. 😎

    Great review. As a new business clothing brand. I am looking for the best craft cutting machines to use. This machine seems to be ideal in the long run, as it will give me the ability to print on the spot with the ability to save designs. However with the machine being so new, I’m not sure of its flaws. Can you update use on any recalls or cons about it’s software and system?

    When I bought the Cricut Maker it came with a rotary blade. I think it was a bundle pack I purchased because it came with quite a few goodies. I’ve had my Cricut for years and I love the way it cuts fabric, I haven’t had any problems with it. So far I have not needed a with longer than the 12” mat. I would buy a brother scan & cut before purchasing the singer momento machine. Cricut makes really good products, so there will be competition at the price singer is asking. I purchased the cricut auto press from hsn, a bundle pack, when it first came out, and it is one of my favorite items in my sewing room. If it’s Cricut, it’s most likely well built and a decent price. So, just because singer offers 24 inches it better be built well to compete with Cricut.

    • @LouRao
      @LouRao 5 месяцев назад +2

      You have no idea how awesome the build quality of the Momento is until you have it in your hands. I have owned the Cricut Maker 3, Cricut Venture, and Brother Scan N Cut, and all three do their job well. I can tell you the Momento is better built than the Cricut Venture. It's a solid cutter. As for the Brother Scan N Cut, it does its job as I stated, but what a hassle to get the darn cutter registered before you can use it. It's not user-friendly at the start. And believe it or not, there are many crafters in need of larger format cutters, but none will cut fabric until the Singer Momento was released. I highly recommend the product.

    I wish you had hands-on experience with any of the products reviewed. I understand there may be times when a product opinion can be formed without having it, but for most of your product reviews, it would be difficult to convey to viewers the pros and cons if you haven't tested them.
    I have the Singer Momento and can say from experience that it is absolutely worth every penny. No, it’s not just advertised as a fabric cutter, but also for card stock and vinyl. What sets this apart from the Cricket Venture 24” and Siser Romeo 24” is the auto blade. Besides, Singer included a standard blade with a maker holder; this is the only 24” cutter with an auto blade. Setup is a breeze. It connects to 5.0 WiFi and separates from other cutters with its connection to MySewNet. The software still has a lot of room for improvement, but it doesn’t hold the Momento back from handling multiple types of jobs. 😎

      @@lucied2725Yeah, there's nothing out there to watch. I was going to do a Momento product review on my RUclips channel until I made a decision to return it. The Momento is a fantastic cutter, but the software leaves a lot to be desired. In fact, the software is just horrible! MySewnet Crafting Software is so badly written that it literally takes the fun out of using the Momento. I really struggled trying to use the software, but it was just impossible for me to get over the amount of bugs I needed to hurdle through. Yeah, it's not worth the time or energy for me to review the Momento on my RUclips Channel. I'll wait another year and see what fixes and add-ons for MySewnet Crafting Software have developed by then. Otherwise, if MySewnet Crafting Software was stable and had many rich features as Siser or Cricut Designspace, Momento would be a game changer for the home crafting or small business cutting machines industry in my opinion.

    I have a Cricut maker 3 and I pay $100.00 a year for unlimited designs that i can use to cut out, I also have my sewnet . most designs that I cut out are small and 12 inches seems to work out pretty good. I feel the price for the new Singer cutting machine is way to high. What I would enjoy in a new machine would be one that I could print designs on an Ink Jet printer that is 24 inches wide would be more useful to me ,now that would be something I would love to have. Thanks for the demo on the singer cutting machine it was intresting.

    Interested to see how this would compare with the Cricut Venture that was launched last year. It seems that the target audience is for those that work with fabric primarily and possibly cut patterns. I would use it for those purposes if I was into quilting or patchwork.

    Another difference between the Silhouette Cameo and the Momento is the cutting file. In the Silhouette the file comes with some extra cutting lines when using the rotary blade while in the Momento that doesn't seem to happen. I think that's a very good point to take count on, specially if your using it for your business

      I saw the Siser Romeo 24" at a trade show when it first premiered. I thought they would come out with a rotary blade for the machine so we fabric cutters could have a better experience. But so far, I've seen any rotary blade offering from them. This is pretty much a deal breaker because it means you must back the fabric before you can cut with a standard blade.

    Do you know how long the mats last? That is my complaint with my Cricut as it seems the mats last really only for one project.

    • @ThimbleBook
      @ThimbleBook  4 месяца назад

      I don't really think there is a difference in the mats between brands. After each use, we wash the mats with mild dish soap and water. Then they are hung on a hook with the original plastic film over the sticky part to protect it. This allows the mats to last pretty long before they need to be replaced.
