I was recommended your channel by the RUclips algorithm, so glad I checked it out. So far what I have watched has been very informative.

"just go ahead and click off" - 😂
I think you've summed it up pretty well. Entry level, going to last a couple of years and be replaced. Singer of today is not the pre-bankruptcy Singer and the name doesn't really mean anything anymore.
    Thanks!

Thank you for your always informative videos. I appreciate the time it takes for you to give us your honest opinion and the demographic details. I have the mechanical grey HD singer. I don’t like it at all. Blessings.

My 1978 Pfaff 1222E has a nylon cam-stack I just replace it 3 years ago. Yes they still make them. My mother was the Original owner. So it was the first time it was replaced. I have seen the Singer heavy duty machine get repaired. This is not your singer 201, 501 or a featherweight. It does have a place, you should not compare it those work horses. Singers from that time are closer to a light indusial machine. As for noise of an all meatal mechanical machines should sound like clock ticking. Not that a loud meatal on meatal noise. You should clean and oil your machine every 5 projects. Once a year it should go to a service tech. This goes for new ones too. This machine is one small step above the Singer Basic 3337 machine.

@SewingandCaring I think people confuse the term "Industrial" to mean a heavy duty machine (not the model "Heavy Duty"). Plenty of industrials are incapable of sewing thick or stiff leather. It generally just means a specialized machine that should be capable of working all day, every day for years on end. And not without periodic maintenance. Though I suspect that some of the inexpensive "industrials" on the market today fail to meet that definition.
