  • Cutting porcelain paving tiles with a grinding tool, to facilitate infill slithers or to pave around drains etc, is not difficult. However, it does require a little practice and patience to build your skill level and confidence to achieve perfect results every time.
Mark Brown, Pavestone's resident expert landscaper, guides you through how to cut narrow strips in Porcelain patio tiles using a grinding tool so as to avoid tile breakage.
We hope you enjoy this Pavestone video from our "How To.." range of videos and find it educational.

If I’m cutting plank porcelain tile do I need to do this many passes or can I just cut through it in two passes?
I’m not a professional and it’s a small 10ft bedroom so I won’t need to make many cuts.

When using the 9 inch grinder is there anything wrong with using it with water

He said you can't use water but actually you can, a small mist or stream just don't overdo it with the water and use a water safe plug, and keep the plug out of way of any water

Yes you can use water we use a little spray water bottle and get some 1 to gentle spray as I cut

Great if you have half hour per cut spare and happy with an aching back.
Best wasy is to score the line with a 115mm grinder, then just simply push it through my £1800 water cutter 😅😅😅

use wet saw or Rub tz tile cutter... doing straight cut with angle grinder looks very unprofessional.

Well I've just watched the same video as you and the finish looks professional enough for me. But then we can't all have your class-leading skills.
What's the address of your RUclips channel by the way? I'd love to learn from you.

Why? Being able to do good straight cuts with the Stihl saw or grinder shows you're skilled, if you do it well that is.
