Fast forward to 3.40 to gut out the self indulgence.
Love it! Great video, clear, direct, and three ways with three different products! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Thanks for the video. As a tile setter who usually works small, it's nice to see there's a method you can use that doesn't require thousands of dollars in tools!
You bet!
Very helpful! Thank you for taking the time to make this very informative video..👍🏼
That RTC cutter is massive and it cuts nice and clean. I’m really surprised that you don’t have at least 60K subscribers by now.
The sound of that razor scoring the length of that slab was so satisfying, I had ti watch. Those mammoth tile are pushing us little guys into early retirement. Never did like those designers and there stupid ideas. Thanks for the great vid from Vancouver bc
I like your open title with stick ons. When I produced one of my first videos in the eighties, I did titles on a patio door with shaving creme. Now I will go back and watch your video.
Thanks for this. I had to cut a single tile lengthwise only 2" from the edge to make a vanity top. I took it to a marble countertop fabricator and paid him $10 to throw it on his huge wet saw and cut it for me. Best $10 I spent in a long time.
Sounds like a killer deal!
Excellent Thanks you are a pro and make great videos!!!
Foam insulation boards work really well instead of overhanging them. Love these methods. I’m starting a large curbless soon with 2’x4’ tiles floor and walls. 🤪
Great tip, thanks Frank! 🙏
Just did mine and love it. Full kerdi made 2x4 easy for me having never tiled before.
Great video, thanks for sharing!
Great video. Clear instructions, stayed on point, camera positioned well. I learned a lot.
Glad it was helpful!
Landberg Tile TV , I will be installing some of these size tiles next month. We will see how I do!
The first video to show the only way to correctly cut tile with a 4 inch grinder .... thank you so much
You bet!
First and foremost thank you for making this video. I really like the simple techniques you use to get the best results thank you for being original authentic and just sharing the knowledge 👍. God bless you on your journey sir and I wish you well in this life.
You are so welcome!
Damn bro you make this look all so easy no matter what you do or what tools you have!
thanks for sharing. Much appreciated.
Nothing beats hand cutting porcelain.
Great video....concise and to the point. Nice job.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great work
You are Tile Jedi Obiwan! Thanks
Nice!!! Work. Thanks!!!
Good video. I am about to cut tile with grinder method. What side is best to cut, finish i would guess? Tha ks
Will these cutters work with a large slab tile that isn’t flat surface? Or will that pose a problem? I have 4’ large slabs that have detailed grooves throughout. Thanks!
Can you use one for countertops? How would you cut the sink opening?
Wow!
GO Berg!
Thanks brother! 👊
Hi, what grinder blade do you suggest for cutting 2'x4' gres porcelain tile 3/8 thick. & It looks like a thick flat table is super important also!? Please advise.
Thanks
Great stuff how much to install per sqf in the 🇺🇸 roughly? Thanks!
The right tool for the right job. I'm going to think outside the box and lay out my floor 14x14 so I don't have to cut any. I will use 12x12 tiles around the 1 ft perimeter. I can easily cut those. But if I didn't have this layout and had to cut I would rent the table saw.
Thank you.
You sir are a class act
Thanks Paul!
What's a medium price to charge for installing large format tiles?
Have you ever tried the circular type tile saw?
That’s a badass wet tile saw
It’s not a wet saw it dry cuts and uses a vacuum to collect dust. I want one but some reviews I’ve read say it burns out after 1 yr and they cost 1,800.
I have an old model IQ so that I purchased from someone who retired and when you look at it it almost looks like it's slightly angled like almost to do a back cut the way the bar comes down but it seems straight is that by Design on purpose when they mess up their pretty accurate and also do you know if I can get a slide extension for the older IQ cut saw
Were almost done with 870 sq ft of 48x48 and those small cuts on the edges were the worst! A lot of waste :/ any advice on small round cuts on the edges of the tile?
sir what is the best cutting disk for cutting tile
I'm installing 72" tile in February. Should be fun.
wish you luck, heavy tile!
Hello , what was the diamong blade , also what do you recommend for tile edge polishing pad .thankbyouv
what brand is the big tile cutter
Thanks for the tips, hey can I cut granite tiles the same way?
The manual tile cutters will not cut granite
Great video. QQ, for those of us that don't do this for a living, what manual tile cutter would you consider other than a TC52PRO Razor Pro 52? I'm doing a home project and dropping a grand on a manual tile cutter for 24 x 48 tile is a bit much. Rentals in the area suck, so that's out.
Curious if you ever went through with the 24x48? Seems a difficult format unless you are a pro with the proper tools.
About to do my bathroom floor with exact same tile. Bought a Monolit 36 inch manual cutter for cross cuts. Rip cuts I'll do with the hand grinder and a Monolit diamond wheel -which it looks like what you have. Those cuts will go under the baseboard. Thanks for the timely video.
Yes sir, that is a good setup. Problem with 50" + cutters, the price jumps up fast. Maybe check out Seeutek on amazon, cheap 48" cutter
@@LandbergTileTV Thanks!
What kind of blade is that on the grinder?
Nice video
Thanks
Good vid like watching them. Extremely important to zoom in with a close up shot slowly (not a far away quick moving glance) to show the mass chipping a dry table saw and hand held grinder does to porcelain, natural stone and ceramic (sanding stones won’t fix that totally). Also a close up shot with a straight edge needs to happen if you’re giving an honest review. When cutting with dry saw or handheld grinder, It’s common to have the tile veer off and split towards the end of the cut. This happens especially with the high honed glass sheen, extremely fragile porcelain - and happens even with the smaller 12x12 or 12x24 - would be compounded with the 24x48 just from a single tap vibration especially on rectified edges. I’ve been installing tile for 40yrs for reference. Keep up the great content.
Whats best the razor or montolit manual cutter ??? Please I would love to know your professional opinion since I'm getting one soon. Thanks for the videos
They are both great! Montolit is more popular
Ive seen mini skill saws made for tile. Maybe clamp a straight edge and use the guide or shoe of the saw like cutting large plywood with a straight edge.
It would be nice to know the costs of the different options!
They are junk.
We need to get you an iQ sticker :)
You mean you need to get us an IQ saw?? @IQ Power Tools 😂😂😂😉😉💯 awesome saw
Where can I try one of your saws?
Great video man. Keep up the great shares. Im looking for a new grinder blade...Whats that one/Link? And is it as good as a Pearl? Appreciate it. Rocky.
That blade is by Montolit, you can get it from Contractors direct. It's better than the Pearl, but pricey $$$. Keep in mind though, the diamonds don't burn out so it's worth every penny!
@@LandbergTileTV Thanks buddy, love Montolit!
Thank you so much! Cheapest method to rip 30” tiles in half that will be used in the filled?
Hey, sorry unclear comment last time. What I meant to ask is: What is the cheapest/best method to rip 30" tiles that will be used in the field? I hardly ever half to do this so don't want to invest too much.
Thank you! About to do an art gallery with 4' x 8" porcelain was looking for a waterless solution. Great video!
Glad I could help!
Have you ever tried cutting glass 1/4” panels on the wet saw?
never tried that
I’m thinking about using go board. What is your opinion on that product
We have used it for dozens of showers! Good product if waterproofed correctly.
I’m currently working on a project but the tiles are 32 x 64“. I don’t have any problem with long ribs or crosscuts. Trying to cut out a c shaped notch has caused me to break 4 tiles already. Any recommendations?
not trying to be smartass but , find a local company who does waterjet work and ask them to cut it.
Where can I get this manual cutter
What was the model of wet saw? Im using montolit tornado but it cuts only up to 70cm
iq tile saw
Can you do a video on how you got into doing tile?
Working on that video currently 😎
you left out one method, skill saw and guide... jk tile cutter always the fastest way... great video...
Anyone tried modifying the iq extension table to fit the DeWalt??😉👍
Awesome love your inthusiasim for the tile
I do I'm a tiler and I'm a little slower than the run through tiler but I always take the extra to make the job right
Good evening sir.please machine ka price batay
Im about to start a job with 5 foot tiles. Good thing i have a manta ray 6 foot bridge saw
Yes sir, that saw is a beast!
💥💥Great video, thanks. The link to that Montolit cutter shows that it only cuts 24.5 inches. 🤟🏼
Cool, thanks
Does that iq extension table fit on the dewalt ?
negative
Where did you buy the razor tile cutter?
Online, google the razor tile cutter
Boss told me checkout cutting 6ft tiles...hoping this has the way we have the tools for..😅
You think you could rip it on your porter cable saw?
impossible, would bind blade, bend blade and burn out the blade
Wish you had shown your hands when you snapped the tile after scoring it.
Use spray bottle with Grinder to eliminate dust.
красавчик, чо!
How would you suggest to miter a 4ft tile to wrap around a corner?
Grinder with a new diamond blade would be best. The dewalt d36000 with foam board on the tray would work, but I haven't tried that.
@@LandbergTileTV foam board idea makes sense. I'll give that a try. Thanks for the suggestion
Can you cut out a niche inside of a 4x8 porcelain tile or would the tile crack?
Yes, with a grinder.
You can also core drill the four corners then diagonal cut across. Score the straight lines after then snap.
Whats the polishing pack big dawg?
Diamond polishing pad I think you mean, links are in the vid description brother
Where did you get all those stickers from?
online and from companies like Dewalt and IQ
Wow, sooooo easy.....using all those tools that a guy who watch youtube on how to cut tiles doesn't have.
grinder? come on bud
Which blade you used for the grinder please and thanks
This is a Montolit blade
@@LandbergTileTV thanks a lot I really appreciate your response you’re always professional
Is there any reason not to use huge tiles besides the tougher installation?
The bigger the tile, the less grout and less maintenance, and they look clean and modern.
Do you have a video of installing the 4 foot tiles?
as a installer how much supposed to charge for sf. .. ?
Minimum $10 floor $20 walls.
When cutting with grinder, I tend to get chipping....tried everything...is this normal or wtf am I doing wrong? Also what blade is that on the grinder?
Yeah, better blade will help and a diamond pad 60 grit to knock down the chips.
@@LandbergTileTV I usually use p4. Thanks for the reply...really enjoy your vids!
What grinder blade are you using
That's by Montolit, great blade!
@@LandbergTileTV Which Montolit blade, there are more then one availalbe
A spray bottle can work well instead of the sponge
I used my small Porter-Cable tabletop wet saw to cut a huge tile, put it on the floor and used a dolly and some 2x4’s (for height) as my rolling table! Worked like a charm!! I still can’t cut a great straight line with a grinder, not steady enough 😩
That's awesome! Great little saw
I clamp a piece of 1 inch angle steel to the tile. The offcut protrudes this ensures that you cannot cut into the piece you need I also have water from a hose on it. The best place to do this is on the lawn. I don't know how he cut that tile so quick and straight it's hard enough to cut a normal tile let alone porcelain and without water. He obviously has a better grinder.
Use a sacrificial straight edge and run your grinder along it to score your cut, then cut just off your score line and tidy it up after
When I am using a wet saw or angle grinder method the tile continues to fracture at the same Spot. Any suggestions? Tried new blade multiple times. Very frustrating
Are you cutting straight lines or complex cuts? When using a grinder you'll wanna trace the lines by cutting the surface of the tile and then cutting all the way through each end before cutting the whole piece
Is there anything bigger than 4 ft tile? Or is that the biggest they make them?
The biggest is a 40" x 40" or 2ft. x 4ft. There is BIG porcelain panels also, very expensive though and difficult to cut and install.
@@LandbergTileTV sounds like you would need to template the layout before cutting. Similar to slabs of granite
I priced a job the tiles were 2.4 metre by 1.2 £800 per tile customer didn't want to pay the labour cost happy to pay the big bucks to buy tiles but not the tiles he said was far to expensive told him my expertise doesn't come cheap he got much cheaper guy to do it and guess what he maid an arse of it asked me to fix it ha not a chance in hell just usual in Scotland
@@erwinwalker1810 should have told him now it costs double
The link for tile cutter points to something made by Montolit, not RTC and has a 25 inch capacity only
You can also buy a diamond blade for your circular saw if you do a DIY job.
You can get a helper who can spray water from a garden plant pumpable sprayer in order not to damage your blade fast and not to breathe all the dust.
A guide is easily made with 2 planks of laminate flooring or anything straight.
To not get a single chip - place reasonable strong tape over the cutline. First cut only the face side of the tile only 1/4th then proceed with a cut through. I use painter's tape the regular beige one.
If you do this professionally yeah a machine is a huge time saver.
Save yourself time and Star at 3:15
Can I score with a glass cutter?
Yes, would be difficult to snap.
@@LandbergTileTV well I tried and failed... you were right, very difficult to snap. Went with the angle grinder method.
How much does the tile Cutter cost
Its around 1100
when are we going to see you using the new dewalt tile cutter?
I just now called, it's on a delay, hopefully this month!
kick ass. throw that yuky stabila away for the R beam 300. just kidding. more stabila
Where's the angle grinder And the diamond did blade?
at mark 6:43 of the video good sir
👍👍👊
👊👊👊
Ive tried to cut 4’ tiles before but the best way is to hire someone else to cut them :)
lol
Word
Make a short video about how to polish the edges after cutting?
Niclas Hellström Diamond polish pad, he’s shown it a few times.
1. horsing around a 4 ft. tile and cutting it dry to add dust to your misery is too much.
2. A $1000 52" razr is kind of a steep price to pay, then you get to polish the knife edges.
3. A dry grinder with a sponge???
I just finished a 100ft2 2 x 4 ft tile job with a $99 kobalt hand held 4" wet saw with hose attachment. Clamping a straight edge and measuring twice gave me professional results. I highly recommend it for smaller projects.
That's fantastic, how many blades did you go through?
@@LandbergTileTV Still going strong. Only 6 cuts on porcelain. Lasting longer than my knees!
Was that 20mm or 30mm?
With the grinder you used it backwards
Many ways to use a grinder my friend
The RTC 52” was not so clean at the end…probably go with the grinder. Thanks
