It's been a blast so far and I will never get over the insane detail and opportunities given to me already. I can tell this is going to be a very in-depth story. If GTAV is Hollywood by comparison GTAIV is it's less flashy, grimier darker yet more realistic, grounded and soulful cousin. It's going to be a great experience to see you go through and I very much look forward to it!

I haven't seen GTA4 since my childhood, and it's honestly an entirely new feeling seeing this game now. I'm russian, and it feels so surreal hearing random pedestrians or character speak in slavic languages. Even one of the stations is just pure slavic music. And if years ago it was probably the only thing I could understand without reading subtitles, now it balances so well with this game's overall atmosphere for me

GTA IV is one the last games of its kind to be made with love and genuine effort, glad you're enjoying it so far bc it's one those games that I can't stop going back to
GTA IV has some of the most subtle personality out of all of the GTA games. It has the most complex and torn character in Niko. Overall tied for best GTA game with San Andreas. It has some filler missions and can feel a bit long but if you pay attention, everything connects in ways you wouldn't think about. Great start to a playthrough!

GTA 4 missions are horrible and seems like rockstar ran out of idea when making the game there's nothing creative about any mission in GTA 4, drive to point A, shootout, rinse and repeat. Even the best mission from the game (Three leaf a clover) follows this cheap formula

Tbh GTA 5 is only half the game of what GTA 4 is. I probably have 6k hours in GTA 4, and there's nothing like it.
Nothing wrong with 5, but the open world is kinda empty for what should be a major city, and the story was bloated.

This game is an absolute masterpiece, I personally feel like this game actually hit the GTA brand, so grim, dark. The story is incredible and captures the attempted balance of being good and bad. Can’t wait for you to experience this for the first time!

@@iammiller5478 Nah, GTA V's story has the *MOST* plot holes and inconsistent storytelling in the entire franchise. GTA IV's story does an excellent job foreshadowing major plot points and recurring events. (literally in the first 20 secs of the intro) This goes in tandem with the two story expansions which explains most of the plot holes in GTA IV story. Providing a unique point of view from all three characters. It's the highest rated GTA game for this very reason.

I like that you said "the driving feels not so bad" because everyone hated on it. This is why it's so easy in GTA V, where ANY car can take a corner at top speed like a Formula 1... and all cars feel like they weigh nothing.

The story of this game is incredible. Niko is one of the deepest characters in the franchise in my opinion. Hail from Brazil 🇧🇷
I'd argue that this was the most revolutionary GTA game of the franchise. The jump from III to IV is nigtht and day. I didn't have playstation back when this came out, so every day after middle school I would go over to my friend's house next door and we would play this and eat bagel bites or pizza rolls.

Only in graphics and physics. In fact it went from SA to IV and many felt the lack of stuff... no car tuning, almost no clothes, no tattoos, no way to workout, no way to get an haircut, no aircraft, and so on.

For your first playthrough of GTA IV gotta love how you got the hang of the driving mechanics and the way you handled Dardan by running him over LOL it's cool to see someone's first time playing this game caught up fast with Dardan and not letting him get to the top of the stairs HAHAHA 😂😎
I was really not expecting to enjoy watching this youtuber play the game when I first clicked but I was proven totally wrong... I love the way she plays the game, paying attention to all the dialogue and cutscenes and getting into it, I want to keep watching, great content!
I enjoyed 5 but I’ll always like 4 more. The story is darker and at times more emotionally impactful. Ragdoll physics are 1000x better as well
ragdoll physics don’t really matter unless you purposely trying to activate them
@@Marlinkz_ it’s not a big deal but it adds a little to the immersion. It’s neat to see NPCs try to hang onto a ledge when they fall, or stumble when they get shot
GTA 4 is inferior to GTA 5 in every possible way. Ragdoll is unrealistic in GTA 4, driving 50km/hr and being launched to space for slightly hitting a car is not realistic at all or Niko's head bouncing on the railroad without him dying. And neither does helicopters blade creating a hole in the river. This isn't the bible. Stop the meatiriding 1000x better means you only watch those biased comparisons videos and never played either of them
@@iammiller5478 But I'd say the ragdolls are a lot more fun in IV. In V, it slows you down too much. And its not just ragdoll, its the euphoria physics. Like slowly driving into NPCs and they react like you'd expect, in V, they just fall over. But I like both games.
@@Marlinkz_ I think they matter, I mean every gunfight involves ragdoll physics and how they react. You notice in V, you shoot someone and they just fall over whereas in IV they try to keep their balance which I personally think makes the combat more fun.

Just a tip about the phone calls. Saying no will get you a thumbs down. But if you agree, then call them back to cancel. There's no change in relationship. You'll want to do them. But they do call at inopportune times. Especially Roman.

I remembered watched a GTA 4 video for the first time back in 2011. It totally blew my mind, thought this is the real life. I only played VC and SA at that time.
Protip for bowling, two steps to the right and straight back and forward on the stick and you'll get a strike everytime.

Not sure what system you’re playing on but get used to the handbrake, gives you better quick turns though take some getting used to. Also it was funny that you offed Darden with the car, it was supposed to be a fistfight that ends with Darden tripping out the window of the dock warehouse and into the river. Can’t wait to watch the next episode. Subbed for more GTAIV.

Before Arthur and John we had Niko... As good as GTA 5 is, and as entertaining as Trevor is, GTA 4 definitely has a special place in my heart. The narrative, gameplay, graphics, everything was basically 12 steps forward and two steps back.

The prototype of Niko was the actor Vladimir Mashkov from the movie Behind Enemy Lines (2001). He was also invited to voice Niko Bellic, but he refused, because he thought that games were a niche industry and there was little money in it. Later, he said that he regretted not participating in the project.

grand theft auto will forever be the best series in video game history. the story, the music, the radio stations, the TV shows, plus all the encounters and mini games you come across randomly in the city. the replay value is great. Even if you just want to play for a few minutes you can just jump in to go for a drive and get into a chase or explore the city well getting into a shootout. great games!

This is my first time watching a playthrough like this (Where the streamers face is also on the screen)
And i have to say i love this already :) Its usually not my cup of tea but the reason i like this particular one so much is because i still remember my first time playing GTA IV on my brand new PS3 back in 2009 after playing numerous GTA titles on PS2 before that
And honestly... I had the exact same reactions like the streamer had here when i noticed things like the Cell phone mechanic and dating system and the details of such things like time sensitive missions etc
And it really makes me smile to see that people who played GTA V first has the exact same reactions and thoughts that i had back in the day... Its sometimes just small things like that which makes me smile so much in otherwise difficult times
