This game still, 10 years later, has to have to most emotionally compelling opening of any game I’ve played. Seriously a masterpiece when it comes to story driven games.
I remember when I first played this game. Rented it out from the video store with a friend. We were like "we have a little bit of time to kill, how about we check out the beginning. I heard it's quite a opening, should be fun!". 20 minutes later, two grown men on the couch, in the verge of tears. "I wasn't expecting THAT!".
Definitely one of the more shocking and heartbreaking openings. And great job to Hannah and Troy for making us care enough about Joel and Sarah with only 20 minutes of gameplay

This is the most impressive intro to a game i have ever seen or played. In 15 minutes they make you love the Sara character and then they rip her away from us, leaving even a full grown 48 year old man like me get teary eyed. So amazingly done by Naughty Dog even though its f´ed up how the intro ends. Absolutely love these games. Look forward to watching you play them :)
A note about the closing scene of the prologue (in case you didn't know already). When they initially shot the scene, they had spent six hours that day going through take after take. Troy and Jeffrey were exhausted, and poor Hana (who was only 12 years old at the time) was in a constant fountain of tears. But then two weeks later, Neil Druckmann called them back up and said "We need to reshoot the scene.". At that point they could've just simply thrown in the towel, but they didn't. And the end product is perhaps one of the most heart wrenching cutscenes in gaming history.
Just some tips/tricks to help you in your playthrough: - There are a number of hidden conversations in the game (in Boston before the truck blows up, when sneaking past the soldiers with Tess/Marlene, etc.) when it's quiet, pause and give those with you a chance to walk around and look for the triangle prompt. Aside from an achievement for listening to them all, they flesh out the characters and include some of the best moments (Ellie puns FTW!) - If you want to succeed at stealth, use listen mode! - Throwing rocks/bottles can lure an enemy but alerts others that something is going on, be strategic in when/how to use - Keep an eye of for doors that can only be opened with a shiv, tons of loot behind each - Clickers can only be stealth killed with a shiv and they can't be melee killed with your fists (only with pipes/2x4's)

The TLOU series is my favorite game series of all time so you could say I’m a little excited to watch you play it lol. I love Part 1 but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t looking forward to your reaction to Part 2 the most. Part 2 is the most emotional and mentally draining game I’ve played but that’s what makes it my favorite game of all time. It made me feel a way no game has ever made me feel before. It made me feel every emotion all at once. It made want to stop playing but as soon as I put the controller down, I just had to pick it up again. In my own opinion and experience, it’s a masterpiece. Both games are. They have one of the best stories in all of media, in my opinion ofc.
11:38 lol You can see the whole way up the road that none of the cars are able to move. Who the hell was that dude talking to when he said, "Let's go?"
43:05 how would the world look 20 years after an apocalypse? Depends on the kind of apocalypse. Disease? Likely yes. Meteor? Not a chance. Nuclear war? Maybe, but also maybe the plants would walk around instead of people.
at the begining Jimmy was the very first guy Joel shot, granola bars- a 2nd form of first-aid, so when your health is full, and you first aud is full you can't pick them up.

The reason they worry about people leaving the gates is that, like Joel and Tess, they will usually then try to come back in (from smuggling/scavenging etc). So any person who leaves is a potentially infected person coming back and threatening the whole QZ.
It is somewhat accurate that nature would reclaim a city if left untouched, whether it would happen to that extend in 20 years is debately I suppose, but there are loads of abandoned places in real life that has been overgrown with no humans to keep nature down.
After hearing your intro about not being attached to Part 2 having played it first. I was worried but it makes sense, since you didn't have all the stuff in Part 1 to get attached to. Hopefully you experience Part 2 after you're finished with Part 1 and see it in a different light. Best games ever made imo.
If you stop and watch the people lined up in the street they are tested for infection with a scanner and one is infected and shot. It's a good storytelling thing but its easy to miss because it's not required to stop.
I found you through this video and I'm gonna subscribe. Wouldn't mind seeing you more often! I like your laid back vibes and the way you commentate for your viewers, not talking down to people's intelligence. I'd also love to see you play some nice cozy games as well. I'll go back through your past stuff since I'm new. Curious if you've done anything that's exactly like what I'm talking about.
You might've figured this out later in the episode but just in case you haven't, at 39:20 you couldn't pick up the chocolate bar because your health was full. There are two types of healing items in this game. 1. The medkits, which you can hold 3 of and use at any time. 2. The food items (chocolate bars/cans of food) which you cannot hold and can only be consumed if your health isn't full Edit: you did indeed figure it out later in the episode lmao.

Girl if you really want to be good at stealth you have to use your hearing mode so you know where the enemies are lol! You out here winging it praying they don't see you & in this game, they will always see you girl lol! Imma have fun watching you play this game for sure. :)
Found ur channel searching for resident evil village playthroughs and i ended up watching all of re village and really like watching ur vids.
37:32 No, Sky. This is no Ethan. No giant axe or hammer for Joel, I am afraid. So, don't go full Resident Evil with your ammo lol.
Im Glad to see I'm not the only one who loves rain and rain sounds especially at night.
Appreciate your vulnerability in playing the game. Best storyline series ever.
If you stop and watch the people lined up in the street they are tested for infection with a scanner and one is infected and shot. It's a good storytelling thing but its easy to miss because it's not required to stop.
I’m from the south too but live in the west now and loved how you did this gameplay video thank you 😊
Aww my god. Welcome to the world of The Last of Us. Right before the show as well. Looking forward to more of your journey
Great choice in game, can’t wait! Cranking out these titles so fast. Love it.
17:15 yup, my reaction to this scene every time.
Very excited to watch you play this series!
I found you through this video and I'm gonna subscribe. Wouldn't mind seeing you more often! I like your laid back vibes and the way you commentate for your viewers, not talking down to people's intelligence. I'd also love to see you play some nice cozy games as well. The views might not be quite as big as a dramatic blind playground but with your disposition the vibes would be impeccable and I'd love to see you get to be playful too. I'll go back through your past stuff since I'm new. Curious if you've done anything that's exactly like what I'm talking about.
My favorite game ever! So glad you’re playing this.
Such a good opening, so intense and sad. One of my favorite games ever
You’re just hitting all the Bangers! Get you some!
You might've figured this out later in the episode but just in case you haven't, at 39:20 you couldn't pick up the chocolate bar because your health was full. There are two types of healing items in this game.
1. The medkits, which you can hold 3 of and use at any time.
2. The food items (chocolate bars/cans of food) which you cannot hold and can only be consumed if your health isn't full
Edit: you did indeed figure it out later in the episode lmao.
Last of Us Part 1 and 2 are my favorite games of all time so I'm excited to see you go on this journey.
That opening segment hits differently. Fully invests you in the story and characters.
Holy shit I didn't even see this, hell yeah! I'm so glad you're playing this!
