Buckle in bc READ DEAD IS STARTING! This feels like the most perfect way to start 2024. From my understanding, it's gonna be a long playthrough so sit back, grab a snack, and enjoy! If you have any spoiler-free tips or suggestion please feel free to leave them BUT also keep in mind this is Part 1 so sometimes it just takes a little while to adjust to a new game. I'm excited for this and i hope y'all are too! Thanks for joining me! ❤
You can talk to any NPC in the game by focusing on them with LT (with weapon holstered). Especially take sometimes a moment to talk to gang members and go around the camp, there is a lot of conversations and content.
My Grandpa was born in 1889 so he was 10 years old when Red Dead 2 was portrayed . He grew up on a homestead in Minnesota and he loved these times. He was always reading what was called dime novels about highway robbers and gunslingers. He died when I was 8 years old but I know he would love me playing this game and living in his world.
Rdr2 is in my top 3 favorite games however I'm gonna have to disagree with it's story being unparalleled in the industry. The plot just consists of the gang running from the government and the characters are pretty one note. Even Dutch, one of the main characters, just repeats "I had a plan!" 500 times throughout the game. It reminds me of Jon Snow on the final season of GOT repeating "she is my queen" over and over. I think both the witcher 3 and cyberpunk have much better written plot, characters and dialogue. However Arthur is an amazing character definitely one of the best in video games and the acting, directing and production value are all top teir in rdr2
I cannot wait to watch this play through Sky! Take your time with this game, it’s long but there’s so much to see, and you only get to experience this masterpiece once. Enjoy. I look forward to every episode
@@Skyytea Glad to hear it! Talk to everyone, go everywhere, do everything. Don't just do the main missions and a few side missions. You'll literally miss half of the game if you just play the story missions and some of the side missions. The game really is massive, probably more than you currently realize, and it deserves to be fully experienced. Don't worry that it might be "boring" for all of us watching. It's not. Those little side adventures and explorations of the world are the reason most of us watch playthroughs of the game.
This game is an emotional trip that makes you wonder about human nature. I wasn’t ready for what this game had to offer. I hope you enjoy it! And please, take it easy, try to explore this immense map during the campaign.
(Sorry if my English is bad, I'm using Google Translate haha) Recommendations: 1_ Take your time, it's a slow game, each action takes its time and has its own animation 2_ Talk as much as you can with the NPCs (especially your friends from the camp) you learn about them, about Arthur and there is always something to discover 3_ Explore everything EVERYTHING, the world is visually beautiful, it is totally alive and there is always a new adventure or something to discover 4_ Enjoy haha, let yourself go, get lost in the world, in the story and in the characters, the first 10 or 20 hours are an unrepeatable experience
Still currently the greatest, most well written, character driven, well acted, detailed narrative this industry has to offer. You are in for such an experience. I'd kill to experience this story for the first time again.
Interestingly enough, the flashlight was invented in 1899, the same year this game takes place, by David Misell. However, flashlights would not really catch on until batteries and electric bulbs improved.
The line that made me want to stay with this playthrough... "I want to read his journal..." It's often overlooked, but it definitely adds to the story/back-story vs not. 🤠 Enjoy the ride.

SOO EXCITED! Sky I been watching you for a while now and i live to see you experience these games that have shaped me and so many others. Brace yourself ❤
Hi Sky, Happy to see you playing my favorite game. Best advice - Take your time and explore everything this world has to offer ( including side/random missions marked in white ) ( main missions are marked in yellow ). It is a good idea to put the names in subtitles, this will help you familiarize yourself with the gang. Your Eagle Eye can also be used for looting, It will highlight items of interest indoors and outside ( use this often when exploring and looting. Yes as you figured out, drawing your bow, running, swimming will drain your stamina. Keeping your cores full will regenerate your outer bars faster. As you progress your outer bars will grow larger. Keep an eye on the bottom right corner for prompts ( important - tells you to interact ), and your mini map ( also important - tells you where enemies are and destinations ). If you move your camera down a bit, to the middle left side, you will not be covering any messages or prompts. Chapter 1 is a basic tutorial, chapter 2 opens up the free roam world. RDR2 is a 5 year old game that's still better than most the new games. The graphics, detail, soundtrack and story in this living open world raised my expectations for other games. This is going to be one hell of a ride.
LET'S GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the best story/game/movie/whatever I have ever seen in my life, and I CANNOT WAIT for you to go through this game and experience it for the first time, get to know the characters and the one-of-a-kind story. I'm so excited!!!!!!!
Going to be SO hard not to get spoiled on things, good luck to you. I wish I could play this game again for the first time, but I'm definitely going to go back in and play the story again soon I think, got the itch to play some Red Dead all of a sudden.
@16:57 always check the bottom left screen for any red zones. You can see that the outlaw that was escaping was in the bottom, left-hand corner. Meaning you were going north and he was south west of you.
One of my top favourite games of all time. Great acting, writing and music, the details and worldbuilding are insane! Hope you enjoy the wild west like we all have, and good luck Sky! *Some tips if you're interested -You can find a few guns early and also have a second version of repeaters, rifles and shotguns. -North-Westish of Lake Isabella (in the mountains you started) you can find one of the best horses in the game (best to do this after the mission "Exit, Pursued By A Bruised Ego") -Treasure maps are a great way to gain money, and tour around the map. -Saddles and stirrups change your horses health and stamina core (like how much it drains and how much it refills) so keep that in mind. -Your honour gives you some benefits, good honour give you a discount in stores. While bad honour give you slightly better loot from corpses. Max bad and good honour have their own unique revolver handle custom option. -You can craft different satchels to hold more items. You can only use one and each increases a item category to max 5 items. When you craft all you can then craft a legendary satchel, increasing all maximum items to 99.
I’ve never seen someone make such an effort to memorize all of the gang members right at the beginning! It’s fantastic! This game is all about the characters so it’s really great! Cant wait to see the rest of your play through.
I just discovered your channel and you're playing my favorite game of all time!! I got to subscribe I love watching people experience this game for the first time it's an absolute masterpiece! I've played plenty of games with great story lines but this one is easily the best imo. Plus it still holds up graphically the world is absolutely gorgeous! I am excited to watch you play this story through from beginning to end.
Looking forward to the rest of this. The gameplay is epic in 60fps. I just wish it could force 30fps for the cutscenes; they're very cinematic at 30fps. Also, one major tip... never ride too fast when you're with another character; people miss SO much dialogue by just hauling ass everywhere.
I'm from Brazil and I can say that this is the best game I've ever played and I've now subscribed to the channel through the Red Dead Redemption 2 video, enjoy this masterpiece, when the game's credits start to go up, you'll notice that you've played one of the best game already made
Hey Skytea I have been watching you since Batman Arkham Asylum and I love your channel. Also Everyone who is watching this don't spoil ANYTHING and Sky just to let you know you Aren't ready for this game and it's story Especially the End. I played it twice once when it came out and last summer now going to again thanks to you
been waiting for this. one thing i'll say is that when you're traveling from one place to another during a mission, don't rush because characters talk to each other and say cool and important things
First time here and I really enjoyed your playthrough! I too am part of the camp that thinks this one should be played first, a proper Timeline can have a bigger impact on the emotional connection to the story or characters. In the first game everyone is a stranger, in this one you come to find they are actually Family. Looking forward to this series!👍
Just some tips.. the Eagle Eye ability (that you used for hunting) can also be used to highlight loot. Always keep an eye on the bottom of the screen, right & left… if you’re lost, the map usually tells you where to go, & anything you can interact with appears on the right… you missed some loot. Also if you walk up to a person and hold LT, you can greet them… most times there are some interesting dialogues.
Tips for Looting: First-person pov is nice for looting otherwise i barely used it. keep in mind you can open some cabinets and drawers too. I usually just move and look around waiting for the button prompt in bottom right to show up, otherwise look for the flashing items. Loot is very useful for health, ammo, horse supplies, you can also find weapons and even some unique weapons. Its a looters paradise.
Oh my days ! You are in for the ride of your life !!!! This game is beyond masterpiece… and then some ! For me the greatest game ever made… period. My suggestion for you is- just take your time with it, don’t rush things, explore and enjoy every moment as much as you can ! God speed to you partner !
LOL, you missed so much in the cabin, didn't inspect the blood, didn't search the cabinets, chest and drawers. Everywhere you go, that's pretty much the first thing you have to do or you won't have enough items. Also keeping the heart filled isn't enough to stop losing weight, make sure Arthur gets three meals a day. Looking forward to following you along on this adventure and I've subscribed.
What better way to Start the new year off than watching your playthrough of this classic adventure, I say adventure because to simply call it a game is selling it short. From your smile right when the opening credits started I could tell you knew you were in for something special. Can't wait for the next episode.
It's incredible to me how historically accurate America is in this game. I don't get why more developers don't see the opportunity to teach people more through story and their games. The pinkertons were and I think may actually still be a private detective agency in the US. They started on the mid 1800s and yeah they were what outlaws fled from back then.
AHHHH IM SO EXCITED this game means the absolute world to me it’s so so beautiful and unique and I played it during a time a really needed it and stuck with me since!! I hope you enjoy it take your timeeee really!! doesn’t matter how long it will take pls take your time and enjoy its a beautiful story!!
I play the horror games one episode ahead of you, then I watch you play and pause when you get to my part. It's good you're taking a break from horror, I need a break from all that tension and stress! I take over a week playing the horror games because of the stress.
Love this playthrough you reading the journal and listening to the story and not talking in the dialogues and then you say what you think and all other things hope you finnish this game its a masterpiece
I truly hope you have as wonderful of a time playing this game as I did!! I fell so hard in love with this game during my first play through and it is so so sooo worth the money!! Best of luck and never let anyone influence you on how to play it! ❤❤❤
It certainly is an experience . One that you can't fully comprehend until you have done so. I would never have believed a video game would have such an emotional effect on me .
You're about to play one of the greatest games ever made, featuring the greatest protagonist in video game history. Can't wait to watch the full play-through. Tip: Always keep an eye on the mini map when roaming around for white dots (npc's, points of interest), red dots (enemies, bounty hunters & dangerous wildlife), dark X's (non-looted corpses), faded X's (looted corpses) and nearby missions. Also, always keep an eye on the bottom right hand side of the screen for prompts (missed some things while looting the Adler home in the opening mission).
My brother played this and loved it. It'll be fun to see u play. And just a mention, I ended 2023 by playing Arkham Asylum and began the new with City for the first time, so we both started our year with heavily praised titles. Good luck!
What I will say is explore as much as you can when the game gives you the opportunity to. You’d be surprised at how much there is to see and how much you can miss. I’ve watched at least 3 walkthroughs and been surprised at how much I didn’t even see.
I stumbled upon your channel after the episode where Someone (He) dies, but your playthrough as a somewhat new Gamer, especially since i grew up on video games, brings a sort of nostalgia of playing for the first time as well as learning a games mechanics brings me so much joy! I'm definitely gonna watch your series playthrough 1: bc your reactions as a well as a a lot of ours first first time reminds me of ourselves at the time of playing rdr2 and 2 bc i (as many of us) love Red Dead 2 to have to have multiple playthroughs and watching someone experience what well felt those long hours makes me feel warmed and welcomed
Hope you enjoy the game, i spent 3 months playing, exploring and doing other activities in the game . . . . best advice is always be alert when exploring the open world
Sooo excited for your journey through this masterpiece!! Only tip I offer for now is to try the Dead Eye feature that was suggested/in game tutorial during the O’Driscoll camp raid. Sky kinda just Leeroy Jenkins’d through that part haha. Dead eye is very helpful during big gunfights, or just fun to use now and then :) Oh and when hunting/tracking and using the tracking vision, don’t forget to actually “Focus on the tracks” to see them highlighted even when not in the desaturated vision mode.
Don't worry about having zero insight into Red Dead Redemption (2010) as Red Dead Redemption 2 is a prequal set before the events of the first game following a whole new character and set within new States, Regions, Towns, etc. So you can play these games in whatever order and still have a fun time. The map of this game is also located to the North and East of the first games map, RDR1 was set in the West for context. So RDR2 takes place North and East of the first game and is all new to us fans. It's like watching the Star Wars movies in timeline order or release you just get a differant experience. Other Rockstar Recommended Games: Max Payne - Max Payne 1 and 2 are being remade, Max Payne 3 still holds up really well and has amazing gameplay. Bully - Such an amazing game that needs a sequel. The Warriors - Underrated game acting as a prequal to the cult film, even got the actual actors as well. GTA - Naturally any GTA game would be a blast, GTA IV and GTA V are a good place to start. L.A Noire - Adore this game so much, Wish we got a sequel as well.
@chandllerburse737true Remedy did make the first and second max payne game but Rockstar games owns it now since they bought the studio but I’m definitely excited for the remake :)
Oh my god. It's finally happening. I cannot wait for this playthrough. It is certainly a long game, it took me forever to finish it, I just wanted to explore everything. I think it took 82 hours before I finally finished it. I think you'll really enjoy this one. It is incredible. Anyway, love ya work Sky, I look forward to every episode :)
@@YourFavoriteGameEver haha funny how you try to belittle someone over something so subjective. It's like you're tying to MAKE someone like or agree with something YOU like. oh wow. Didn't one of the worst game I'VE seen, Baldur's Gate 3, win "game of the year" ? See? All subjective lol
@@YourFavoriteGameEver I said top 3 because IMO cases could be made for Witcher 3, Skyrim, and Ghost of Tsushima (GoT isn't really an RPG though) slightly edging out RDR2.
Cyberpunk 2077 is what got me interested to try other games, The Last of Us is what got me hooked on games, but Red Dead Redemption is why I LOVE games! Amazing first episode, I cannot wait to see more!
I’ve been watching you for a while and I was wondering when you’d get to this masterpiece. Just know you’re starting down a path you won’t be able to return from. Remember to take your time (it has more content than Arkham Knight and any other game you’ve played) and enjoy the ride this game will take you down! Excited to see your experience!
This game is honestly beyond any game I played. The most well written story with the most well written protagonist side characters and the best and most hated antagonist in gaming history( for me)
Great to be with you in this ride Rockstar really outdid themselves with this game just remember it is a very slow paced game and world of this game is filled with content, so many detailed side storylines, so many places to explore so i suggest you take your time with this one and enjoy every aspect of this game

You’re in for the long ride. Take you time, and hope you enjoy. As a video gamer for decades, I can safely say that Arthur Morgan (mainly high honor rank Arthur aka Good Arthur) is my top 10 favorite protagonist.
Suuuuuper excited for you to start this playthrough Sky!! Fun Fact, the voice of Charles who Arthur goes hunting with is the same voice actor that did Mysterio in SpiderMan 2 AND the English voice for Sekiro :)
First time watcher of your content and I really liked the vibe. Subscribed! :) By the way, RDR 2 is the greatest game ever, so I wish you a lot of fun with it!
Gonna watch this whole playlist. One of my favorite pastimes is watching live reactions to this masterpiece. Been a fan of rdr since release of 1 in 2010. Glad you are getting to experience it
I too started this game for the first time and am totally in love the soundtrack, the characters are increibly well written looking forward to watching this playthrough
The story is so impactful when playing 2 first. You can play Red Dead 1 at 60fps on PS5, so no worries about that. And I cannot stress this enough, don’t be afraid to take your time. Everybody loves the story AND side stories in this game.
I’m so happy that you’re finally starting this amazing journey. And it’s nice to hear that this game is already bring back a wholesome memory for you , one of the reasons why this game is the best in my opinion.
When you’re in a big shootout, check the mini map for nearby enemies and the Xs on the mini map are their bodies. That way you won’t miss their loot. Giddy up 🤠

I love that you read the diary 🤔 It adds so much more depth to an already incredible story 🤠
This is gonna be an awesome play through Skyy! 😃
Tryin to use a bow from 500 yards away is hilarious
Love this playthrough you reading the journal and listening to the story and not talking in the dialogues and then you say what you think and all other things hope you finnish this game its a masterpiece
The epic journey, begins.
I truly hope you have as wonderful of a time playing this game as I did!! I fell so hard in love with this game during my first play through and it is so so sooo worth the money!! Best of luck and never let anyone influence you on how to play it! ❤❤❤
Finally. Been Looking forward to this. It is a masterpiece. Please enjoy.
It certainly is an experience . One that you can't fully comprehend until you have done so. I would never have believed a video game would have such an emotional effect on me .
YES!!! Finally!!! I've been refreshing my YT all morning for this episode!!
I would turn on name subtitles because it helps a lot with learning the names also can’t wait to see your playthrough
So excited to watch you play this game! It’s easily top 3 for my favorite games ever played!!
The Pinkertons are historically real. They’re the equivalent to the FBI at the time.
This game is just a film in my eyes need to replay Red dead 2 & 1 ugh it’s soo good! Happy your loving it
One of my favorite games, definitely my #1 favorite story. Excited to watch you play and see your reactions.
My brother played this and loved it. It'll be fun to see u play. And just a mention, I ended 2023 by playing Arkham Asylum and began the new with City for the first time, so we both started our year with heavily praised titles. Good luck!
Nice! these RDR2 playthroughs are what will keep me sane with my Rockstar fix until GTA 6
What I will say is explore as much as you can when the game gives you the opportunity to. You’d be surprised at how much there is to see and how much you can miss. I’ve watched at least 3 walkthroughs and been surprised at how much I didn’t even see.
This gonna be a good series. They’re all good but this one will be really good.
First Sky video of the year! 🎉 Can’t wait to watch and hope you enjoy the game
Dead eye is very helpful during big gunfights, or just fun to use now and then :)
Oh and when hunting/tracking and using the tracking vision, don’t forget to actually “Focus on the tracks” to see them highlighted even when not in the desaturated vision mode.
Everthing the characters, music, missions, details, graphics, banter, seriousnes are incredible
Other Rockstar Recommended Games:
Max Payne - Max Payne 1 and 2 are being remade, Max Payne 3 still holds up really well and has amazing gameplay.
Chill.
16:53 See that HUGE RED MARKER on your compass bottom left surely you can't miss it well that's the runaway.
Starting the year with a banger!! Happy new year Sky and wishing you more success in 2024!❤
Absolute BANGER of a game. A top 3 open world RPG of all time.
Bro said top 3 😂 it's top 1 buddy, I actually want to hear what other games you have over this game 😂 rdr2 is on top
Facts. It solos every other game and it’s not even close
RPG????
The most well written story with the most well written protagonist side characters and the best and most hated antagonist in gaming history( for me)
I would argue both Elden Ring and The Witcher 3 have more content than Rdr2, but it is definitely up there.
Great to be with you in this ride
Rockstar really outdid themselves with this game just remember it is a very slow paced game and world of this game is filled with content, so many detailed side storylines, so many places to explore so i suggest you take your time with this one and enjoy every aspect of this game
i am YELLING at my screen for you to get closer to the deer 😭
@@goose9170 that sequence was hard to watch. I just wanted her to fill up her stamina core so the dot would hold still🤦🏻♂️ I almost lost it when she ate the oatcake
@@mitchellriner3522I wanted to see if she could get a shot from far out that would be pot luck
Oh man!! Sky! I’ve Been watching most of your play throughs and catching up recently. You’ve played many games that I love and I’ve been really enjoying watching you experience these games for the first time. Red dead 2 is a masterpiece truly and this will be awesome to watch you experience this. Get ready to truly experience another world!
Omg, this is gonna be a laaaaaarge journey 😅, good luck Sky! When this is all over, you should try the other Rockstar’s games!, they’re masterpieces.
Bully’s been on the ever growing list. One day, one day 😂
@@Skyytea Enjoy it 😅🙏
@@Skyytea Bully is a great choice
LA Noire, Max Payne 3, GTA IV, GTA V, GTA Vice City, GTA San Andreas, Red Dead Redemption I, Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare should be on that list too. @@Skyytea
You’re in for the long ride. Take you time, and hope you enjoy.
As a video gamer for decades, I can safely say that Arthur Morgan (mainly high honor rank Arthur aka Good Arthur) is my top 10 favorite protagonist.
This is my favourite game. Randomly found your channel. I’m definitely tuning in this whole play through till the end🤗😎👍💙
Suuuuuper excited for you to start this playthrough Sky!! Fun Fact, the voice of Charles who Arthur goes hunting with is the same voice actor that did Mysterio in SpiderMan 2 AND the English voice for Sekiro :)
2024 didn’t start till Sky uploaded 🎉
oh man I've been waiting for this!!!!! this is gonna be something special what a way to start 2024
Hell yeah girl, going to be a killer series, im here for it
First time watcher of your content and I really liked the vibe. Subscribed! :)
By the way, RDR 2 is the greatest game ever, so I wish you a lot of fun with it!
This is so exciting to see her play the red dead redemption
Omg I can't believe it!! You're going to love this game!! My favorite of all time!
love to see it. One of the best games ever. Such a masterpiece
Gonna watch this whole playlist. One of my favorite pastimes is watching live reactions to this masterpiece. Been a fan of rdr since release of 1 in 2010. Glad you are getting to experience it
Damn... you're in for one incredible journey.
I too started this game for the first time and am totally in love the soundtrack, the characters are increibly well written looking forward to watching this playthrough
Have fun friend
Giddy up 🤠
:I don't think I missed anything" as she walks by 2/3 of the loot in the cabin 😂
2nd part today?
Unfortunately not, she's still upset about yesterday on how people we're saying she wasn't consistent with uploading so she's punishing those people by not uploading 😕
@@BayekOfCompton it was like 1% of viewers if not less
@@BayekOfComptonHold on was this on her twitch streams or something? Because if that’s the case they need to be banned
@@BayekOfCompton Incorrect. She's experienced some technical issues outside of her control regarding the upload of the next episode. The delay has nothing to do with the comments from the prior episode.
Wooo excited to watch this series! One of my favorite games
So, out of curiosity, are you planning to play any of the gta games in preparation to gta 6? Sort of like you did with gow?
I hope so. At the very least GTA4 (and the DLC) and 5, the HD era since 6 will also be in the HD universe.
its kind of unnecessary since the stories don't really connect with each other.
One of the best and most memorable openings to a video game I have ever seen. You're in for a treat.
