Now that i've played everything so far in this Black Ops series... which one was your personal favorite?! It's between BO1 & BO2 for story, & WAW being my favorite in terms of pure action. I really loved this! We have 3 days for BO6 so i'll be waiting impatiently until Friday. THANKS FOR WATCHING 🙏🏼
I’d say blacks ops 2 is probably my personal favorite since Menendez is such an interesting villain. Black ops 1 for the story and black ops 3 for the gameplay/zombies are also so much fun. Can’t wait to see how black ops 6 comes along
Story wise I loved all three but my favorite has to be BO2 because of the multiplayer, I have fond memories playing that with my brothers. Looking forward to when you upload BO6 and the Modern Warfare campaigns. Keep them coming.
59:51 yesss this is that Dimitri, the events of this game took place before black ops 1 which is why in black ops 1, Reznov says Dimitri, deserved a better death.
And it was a real life building, it was the HQ building on the Peleliu airfield that the Japanese built up into a stronghold which turned into a bloodbath of a battle for the marines to capture. It was even featured in the Peleliu episode of The Pacific TV show because it was so significant to the story of capturing the island.
When Polonsky and Roebuck need saving at the end of the marine campaign, you can only save one so you didn’t really screw up. One will live and the other won’t.
On the charging with bayonets, great granddad served on Saipan with the 2nd Marines, he saw civilians throw throw themselves off of what would be known as Banzai Cliff, he had a bronze star accommodation and saw the last and largest Banzai charge of WW2, it overran the 105th regiment of the Army, Captain Ben L. Salomon was a dentist awarded the Medal of Honor later for protecting his aid station with 98 Japanese around him and his body slumped over a machine gun protecting his aid station.
On the ambush parts too, yes they did tie themselves into trees quite frequently as snipers usually wearing the local vegetation as more camouflage, and used what is called a spider hole, its small usually enough to hunker down in and usually covered with growth and vegetation, it was common for such a thing to be overlooked by US and Commonwealth troops and would result into taking fire from behind, the pillboxes they built were ingenious too, they built them to where if a grenade was thrown into the entrance the shrapnel would be deflected from the gun crew giving them time to fight back. Peleliu was the first time the Japanese really dug in and waited instead of throwing themselves against a wall of automatic fire in an attempt to drive the US back by bayonet point, a tried and true tactic they used in China against poorly supplied forces, their AT guns were extremely effective in making it hell for the Marines to bring any sort of supply on the island, they would wait for an LVCP carrying supplies to come ashore and wait some more until the Marines started unloading to fire upon them, this was a tactic they used to maximize casualties. All in all the Japanese were tenacious fighters that made use of their terrain to the best of their ability
@tippy4674 the Saloman story was fake. He was a jew. Jews don't have enough tenacity to do what he did. He should've been against the SS. Would've fit him better
The events of Project Nova occur on October 29th 1945, just under 6 months after the events of Downfall and the end of WAW. If you replayed it you might notice the WW2 weapons and the use of music from WAW designed as a callback. Dragovich was also the commander at Stalingrad who ordered the attack at the Fountain Square which ended in disaster(we don't see this, but it happened right before Vendetta starts, we see the aftermath. That whole mission is based on Enemy at the Gates so presumably it played out how it did in the movie, Dragovich orders them to charge in, first man gets a rifle second man gets ammo, it ends in disaster, dead at the fountain, cue Vendetta. That's why Reznov did not trust the man, and also seemingly why he left that unit afterwards(The Comissar he takes orders from during the Berlin campaign is a different guy)
49:00 Your name is so fimiliar to you "Pvt. Petrenko".. Because You saw him at Black Ops 1... Dimitri Petrenko.. Reznov's best friend.. Remember.. "Dimitri Petrenko was a hero, deserve to hero's death" Reznov's speech..

LVTs are the name of the vehicles at the beginning of the second mission. They are amphibious vehicles, designed with treads similar to a tank that could allow the vehicle to traverse different types of terrain to deliver troops onto the beach and continue to carry them further inland. These are also the same things that got the soldiers onto the beaches at Normandy during D-day.
I love how all these people are playing all these call of duty games but not just any call of duty the Good,Best, awesome and entertaining games of our lives from the beginning to the modern
LCVP's and LVT's are two different landing vehicles. LCVP's are the landing craft that you see in SPR. The Vehicle you land on in the Peleliu mission is an LVT-4 a new model of the LVT that came with a ramp to disembark from.
Sky finding out Reznov was a ruthless war criminal 😭 Also at 3:11:58 A Commissar was a person who worked for the Soviet government and was tasked with making sure soldiers basically stayed loyal to the communist party by yelling propaganda at them like you see in game. They technically weren’t a military rank but had the authority of a commander during WW2.
15:18 It's roughly real. It's a depiction of the marine landing at Peleliu island, you're in an open-top LVT. The landing was ambushed and a bunch of LVTs were destroyed by Japanese artillery, as depicted in game. 3:11:58 A Commissar was a political officer, it wasn't actually a military rank but they were the same level as a unit commander.
The cinematics in-between missions are UNBELIEVABLE. They legit give me chills, especially the one for Eviction 2:05:13 So much attention to detail! I feel like I notice new things every time I see them.
Keeping in with the COD games of this era having celebrity voices. As well as Gary Oldman playing Reznov again, Kiefer Sutherland voices Sgt. Roebuck and Aaron Stanford, who played Pyro in the X-Men movies, plays Pvt. Polonsky.
I'm so happy you've finally played this game! If you didn't know Reznov is voiced by the same actor that played Sirius Black in Harry Potter, Gary Oldman. Oldman was also the actor who played inspector Gordon in the Christopher Nolan Batman films.
Yes, the Dimitri Petrenko you play in this game is the same one from BO1, which is why his death will always hit hard for me. I still play this single player occasionally, it is such a nostalgia trip.
Fun fact: Depending on your choices in the Russian missions, such as whether to shoot the surrendering Germans or let them burn, Chernov will say a different speech about you. You got the mixed one, where he questions whether heroes need question their actions. There's a version where he ackowledges your mercy and calls you a true hero, and a version where he denounces you for brutality and declares you a monster. It's cool because the game never explicitly tells you there's a morality system tracking your decisions, it just lets you do whatever you feel in the moment and then judges you at the end.
Good ole world at war… the game I got into when I was in 6th grade, proceeded to be obsessed with history and WWII, joined the Marines and was an anti tank gunner for my vic and deployed to the Middle East in 2017 helping support Saudi Arabia Royal Marines in their fight against ISIS. 1st battalion, 5th Marines. My love for this game started it all!
3:12:00 I’m assuming commisar is Russian for commander… To my knowledge, In the U.S Army you have 3 types of Ranks. You have; 1. Enlisted 2. Officers 3. Warrant officers 1. The Enlisted goes as follows: Private (PVT) (E-1) Private (PV2) (E-2) Private First Class (PFC) (E-3) Specialist/Corporal (CPL) (SPC) (E-4) Sergeant (SGT.) (E-5) Staff Sergeant (SSG) (E-6) Sergeant first class (SFC) (E-7) Master sergeant (MSG) (E-8) First sergeant (E-9) Sergeant Major (E-10) 2. Officers goes as follows: 2nd Lieutenant (2nd LT.) 1st Lieutenant (1st LT.) Captain/Company Commander (CPT.) Warrant officers can be the same rank as some officers but they more specialize on a specific MOS or job. (Anyone with more knowledge regarding the rank structure, Correct me if I’m wrong)
Commissar wasn’t an official military rank, it was a political officer to make sure the Russian soldiers stayed loyal to the cause by promoting propaganda. Think of like a Politician encouraging you to fight for the Capitalist society of America on the front lines
1:26:57 fun fact: the Type 100 was barely used during the war. Not many were made to begin with and they were only given out to specialized troops. There were around 8,000 guns made during the entire war. By comparison, the US made 1.2 million Thompsons.
2:08:41 okay so the original two zombie maps come from this game and both of those maps are actually in the campaign, and the zombie theme is actually just like a horror motif in the russian campaign
Fun fact: originally, after the game, there was going to be one last mission where you were a German defender on D-day. The idea was turned down, and replaced with another one: zombies
Im so glad this popped in my recommended! This is easily my favorite Cod just bc of how its not some kind of storyline like all the others, and the war itself is the story. Its really cool to me how both "stories" start in completely hopeless scenarios, and by the end of the game youre ending the war. I love the beginning to end journey, and the cutscenes are great at explaining whats going on and getting you amped up. And yes the music is absolute perfection. Now I gotta watch all your Cods and I also see that youre playing resident evil??? I have content for weeks 🤣
I played all the campaign in veteran... I didn't regret but it was so total madness. I love that game The russian campaign is pure cinema. Reznov is God here, so brutal but he saw in Stalingrad how the nazis exterminated all his comrades. Dimitri Petrenko was the Reznov's best friend, just like brothers, he appreciated so much, that's the reason why Reznov said Dimitri should have died in Berlin like a hero and not be killed like a dog in a nova 6 chamber... to Mason in Black Ops 1.
There's actually a secret morality scale in place in the game. In your playthrough, Chernov comments at 3:25:00 that you sometimes show mercy, and sometimes show brutality. There are alternative comments where he comments that you are either a true hero or not one at all
Fun fact: The extremely haunting theme from this game is in German and it's saying "Brave Soldat, stirb mit mir, stirb mit mir, stirb mit mir, Brave Soldat" or in English "Good Solider, Die with me, Die with me, Die with me, Good Soldier", which in english is haunting to even try and extrapolate any meaning from it.
World at War was my first COD game. It gives me chills every time I play it. It captures the horrors and brutality of world war 2. The campaign was phenomenal, multiplayer was broken yet fun and zombies was badass it’s a shame I never got to experience the original DLC maps only the remastered versions on later titles.
Damn. Sky, im actually impressed u rememberd Dimitri. He was indeed Reznov's best friend that died in the Nova 6 gas. He was also in Vorkuta when u escaped with Mason and Reznov in BO1
Realism is 10/10 🎊 Playing dead a quick and useful trick in the pacific campaign. The truth is some of them won’t get out cuz they’re either out of shape or out of time 😢.
I’m just starting to watch you play this, I’m on a veteran play through and it’s the hardest thing ever… I think it’s so funny how you in the beginning thought Resnov was gonna be a good guy but then he turns out to Be so ruthless
Today ima be super productive and get everything I need to get done 😊 *Sees that sky posted another gameplay walkthrough* Welp guess I’m done for the day lmao 😂
This game was so gruesome and gory the atmosphere was scary nowadays WW2 games are heroic but this is just shows the horror of war it’s the deadliest conflict in human history and some people consider it a horror game and the cool thing is there using real footage of WW2 which made it much better and it’s educational too
Before I even clicked the video I thought: enjoy the grenade spam on Their Land, Their Blood and Heart of the Reich😂 maybe it's only a veteran thing, idk🤷♂️
I've literally been dragging myself through University papers all week and seeing this has given me motivation to get that shit done because I can't wait to watch you play this. Such a goated game!!
Commissar was not a military rank, it was a political position. Commissars were members of the Soviet Communist Party embedded in military units to ensure loyalty and obedience. In extreme circumstances commissars could and would execute soldiers who displayed cowardice or otherwise appeared "disloyal" to the Soviet war effort.
One of my favorite Cods as a kid as far as innovation from its early stages. The zombies was the most horrifying on this cod and the action was gritty, the main menu had that horror essence complimenting the entire game’s aura. Black Ops 2 was my favorite cod overall. As always Sky your gameplays are amazing. Thank you
This game makes me cry of joy. It reminds me the good old days when this game came out when times were very much simpler. I missed my middle school years.
To answer a question you asked towards the start miller the character you play as during the American part is essentially supposed to be a stand in for most American soldiers throughout the war

16:15 that's a perfect reaction for what happened. Truly a masterpiece of a game.
I played all the campaign in veteran... I didn't regret but it was so total madness. I love that game
The russian campaign is pure cinema.
This Game and medal of Honor was my childhood!!ohh the nostalgia
Best ending, creepiest representation of the war, thanks treyarch
The WHOLEEE game!!! Sheeeeesh the grind you put yourself through should get more recognition than it already does 👌🏼
You guys hype me up PLENTY. Thanks for watching Don 🥰
There's actually a secret morality scale in place in the game. In your playthrough, Chernov comments at 3:25:00 that you sometimes show mercy, and sometimes show brutality. There are alternative comments where he comments that you are either a true hero or not one at all
3:25:00 If you commit acts of barbarism or good along the game in the eyes of Chernov he writes about it at his book. You got the neutral ending.
The music, the atmosphere untouched game when it comes to those!
Nice palette cleanser after a game like ghost of tsushima. Something nice, short, and action packed.
Ohh snap WaW!! This is my favorite CoD game and was my first ever PS3 game!
This one is criminally underrated!
Let’s gooo playing the OG 🙏
You know i HAD to! 😏
It’s actually a lot more common than you think to play dead in war as messed up as it is in some situations they will shoot a body just to be safe
As you probably realised, Call of duty World at war is the most brutal Call of duty ever made.
Today ima be super productive and get everything I need to get done 😊
*Sees that sky posted another gameplay walkthrough*
Welp guess I’m done for the day lmao 😂
😂 I want to say sorry but also you're welcome? lol
@@Skyytea thank you! And take no blame for the entertainment i always appreciate and look forward to the vids lol
This game was so gruesome and gory the atmosphere was scary nowadays WW2 games are heroic but this is just shows the horror of war it’s the deadliest conflict in human history and some people consider it a horror game and the cool thing is there using real footage of WW2 which made it much better and it’s educational too
I played this 15 years ago or so and it's the only CoD game I've ever played. It was fun watching someone else playing it after all those years.
Call of duty WaW was nostalgic. I love playing online.
Is online still active?!
@@Skyytea Yeah I think it's still active. As long as the servers are not lagging a little bit.
I was 11 when I first played this. It's still the best game Treyarch has made. The nostalgia is real.
Before I even clicked the video I thought: enjoy the grenade spam on Their Land, Their Blood and Heart of the Reich😂 maybe it's only a veteran thing, idk🤷♂️
If only she knew about the crouching in the craters to get the raygun Easter egg in the second level. God I loved this campaign as a kid
This cod is best era since 2007-2013
3:18:59 this was WWII. The only soldiers issued any kind of optic were snipers. You used iron sights and you learned to love it.
"i hate when a grenade pops up"
veteran mode: 600 million grenades around or on you
This is the first COD I ever played and haven't played it in like 10+ years, so it's exciting to see someone playing it now.
I've literally been dragging myself through University papers all week and seeing this has given me motivation to get that shit done because I can't wait to watch you play this. Such a goated game!!
YOU GOT IT! Video will be here when you’re done 😊❤
@@Skyytea I'm going strong! Only 4 more days haha
Let’s goo full play through 🔥🎉
One of my favorite Cods as a kid as far as innovation from its early stages.
My favorite cod game. The most dark and gritty cod and opening to the black ops series
loved seeing a first time playthrough of World at War, one of the best CoD games in my opinion! would love to see playthroughs of the original Modern Warfare trilogy!
That was a GREAT SHOT on the sniper duel in Vendetta!
I absolutely love the intermission cutscene, they are so well made.
I havent played the WaW campaign since i was a kid but now re-watching you play it some 10 years later omg the black cat mission was horrify and depressing. the planes crashing into the ships and the screams I cant believe stuff like this actually happened
I love that more and more people are discovering and enjoying this incredible game. Like a fine wine, Call of Duty World at War gets better with age.
