One thing I noticed about Ngannou vs Fury was that Ngannou didn't bite on Fury's trademark feints nearly as much as Fury's previous opponents. I mean, you could see Wilder being visibly flummoxed and exhausted by Fury's rapid fire feints, but Ngannou was mostly stonefaced and solid, letting Fury harmlessly pop-lock the night away. I like Wilder, but his whole career up until Parker was cherry picking. Even fury was a cherry pick because the guy came out of retirement fat and depressed.
The balls it took to make this video. I remember your old Cherry picking gone wrong video, and that thing broke ground. All you're doing is pointing out the reality of professional boxing. Rules exist for a reason. Mandatories exist for a reason. I love how you know so much about Muy Thai too. I love Deiselnoi. Everyone called me a idiot for saying Francis would do well and when I saw Fury, I knew he didn't take him seriously. Fury is one of my favorite boxers btw. Fury had better learned his lesson or he's gonna get outboxed by Usyk.
Wilder managed to duck his mandatories for years. He cherry picked his fights for hid entire career including the first Fury fight which was a classic cherry pick as he thought Fury was a fat, drug addict who had nothing to offer. Al Haymon has a track record of doing this. The WBC have a track record of allowing this. And casual Americans have a track record of supporting this. Where was Teddy Atlas when Wilder padded his record with unranked fighters for the majority of his career.
And you probably think fury is not cherry picking now? Dudes reign is one of the worst and pretty comparable to wilder who tf did fury fight? And when he fought Francis he got exposed and he’ll get exposed again by usyk
I 101% agree with you actually. Fury's resume is a disgrace - Again another profitable fighter being protected by the WBC. I do think Francis exposed him, and I do think he will probably lose to Usyk unless he uses his I'll lean all over you tactic. Furthermore I think he loses to Joshua who he is also ducking and has been for years (not that Joshua is amazing). @@axeclycan6633
@axeclycan6633 Not one word of what you said proved the other dude wrong. You wrote nothing. Fury got beat up by Nnganou, which js irrelevant to the point that Wilder cherry picked. Cry moar baby
I was so proud of Francis ... Fury couldn't bully him with his weight, nor could he impose his size & strength on him. Francis was just too massive & really didn't fall for Furys' veteran tricks in the ring. I thought Francis won by a close decision because Fury looked bad in there compared to what he usually is. He just looked like he lost a step & Francis brought the fight to him. I was proud of the guy. He was a warrior & for his first time boxing professionally, he gave himself a good showing & earned a lot of peoples respect that night. Bloody fantastic 👌🏽
Yeah, he really did win that fight. He's so strong, Fury tried wearing him out with his weight, but Ngannou was strong enough to carry him. Fury really relies on that one trick, and that's because it always worked until Ngannou. Francis is going to be a terror to deal with in the ring. I hope he makes Floyd money and eventually becomes a promoter. That way he can help younger guys out with fair pay. The boxing game, and really all combat sports in general need a guy like Ngannou to help ensure the guys get decent pay. It sucks that it's all going to fall on his shoulders, but he's the guy who's strong enough to carry them!
Who won and who lost? Oh yeah that’s right. Fury out-landed Ngannou. Just look up the compu-stats, it’s literally there lmao. The amount of delusion is absolutely insane. I feel like I live in a world full of Gen Z morons.
@@davewilson9738 Yes, of course he took it seriously and by round 5 he was taking it very very seriously. that said, if you don't know how boxing is scored - why make these big dumb announcements?
I'm so glad you said that about Tyson Fury, you have to criticise his opponents just like Wilder's, the WBC protect their fighter. Tyson Fury is absolutely a cherrypicker, he actually always has been, but again I'm so glad you said that. I think more and more people are finally waking up to Fury's BS, lies and contradictions, he doesn't want anyone tough, he'll take every chance to avoid a tough fight.
I hate to say it, but Wilder was at least fighting 2x a year. So his WBC reign was better. Putting beside the fact Fury has one of the worst lineal reigns ever.
I feel like you can add Wilder vs Parker on the next edition. Whole of boxing media saying Parker is getting knocked out? Check. Already talking about setting up a megafight with AJ? Check. Most conversations overlooked Parker and his strengths? Check.
Don't think that's a cherry pick at all. He was a top 10 fighter and a former champion. I picked Wilder but always gave Parker a good chance. May of been overlooking him though with the AJ fight being apparently signed.
@@GRF64yea that wasnt a cherry pick this time. That was wilder fighting somebody that is worth a damn and being exposed again. There was a reason Luis Ortiz is the only worthy opponent he fought before fury
@@JayBlahaugenyall acting like wilder is actually terrible dude put up with fury who you guys say is the best in the division but never ever talk about how bad his reign is and how he’s cherry picking aswell who did he defend his lineal against he literally didn’t defend his titles against big names and the only non cheery picked is usyk
@CookyKrhemRuiz was a late replacement for Miller, who was ranked 2 for WBA, and 3 for WBO. Late replacements aren't the same as cherry picking as it's much more difficult last minute
No, Fury was still recognized as the lineal Heavyweight champion of the world even after his hiatus and Wilder at the time was unbeaten and the WBC Heavyweight Champion. Fury fought someone who at the time was thought of by many as someone who was the best HW in the sport. That’s not a cherry pick.

@@vince11harris mma fans feel the same about waiting 45mins between fights to watch panel shows and every fighter have a mini concert and 50 entourage on their walkout. Just for the first 3rds of feeling eachover out
Agreed with the final point regarding Fury + Wilder and the double standards regarding the two. Fury’s WBC title reign can be hit with the same exact critiques as Wilder’s was. Hopefully, Fury vs Usyk stays on track for February and doesn’t fall through.
Even more, because Wilder wasn't given the same opportunities to unify like Fury has. Atleast Wilder and AJ had the heavyweight division buzzing for a few years. They were exciting to watch Now it's lame again like the Klitschko era
I disagree with the point that "Fury’s WBC title reign can be hit with the same exact critiques as Wilder’s was" In fact, with the exception of Klitschko, Fury's entire career can be be hit with the same critiques. With only one single exception (Klitschko) everyone he's fought has been a zero - a nobody - a loser. Like Wilder (a complete zero himself) it's easy to look good against handpicked opposition - and even then Fury has struggled - shit, watch his final rounds against Pianeta and Wallin - Fury was gassed and holding on for dear life in both those fights - Nganou was an embarassment (for Fury)
Glad u bought up Chavez. To many uniformed ppl tried to make out cos he fought often he didn’t fight proper contenders. He fought everyone he was supposed to on top of his ‘staying active’ fights in order to sustain his crazy outta ring life.
Pro boxing needs to cut these buffs out that pull all the strings and calling all the shots we don't know about. Also 1 belt instead of 4 or 5 for each division is just dumb. It's not a sport any more, it's usually just a big pay day for a few people and disappointed fans. Ufc does it right, 1 governing body and 1 undisputed champ for each weight division
11:08 this is notably incorrect only worth mentioning bc ufc sitting champions earn what’s called participation points. Hence why rousey’s comeback purse was so high vs Amanda’s comparatively lower as the former does not get ppv pts and this was a massive gamble to walk into that ass whooping. on the low end ppv compensation starts at $0.50 per buy with the confirming buys north of a million m for ufc 207 - parity to what Garcia vs Tank did earlier this year for perspective. So collectively Amanda made more than both boxers that night and their championship purses. It was literally her very first defense of the belt too. Not to mention bc of the draw, women tend to have lower show money amount but especially as champion Nunes put in some amazing fights with another 1,000,000 fight card vs Tate later that year. so this would only continue to rise. For most of her run she would earn significantly more than Shields does by example for a more apples to apples comparison. Brave video though- enjoying it majorly thus far. 18:45The context on the whole Jennings debacle is rarely covered and really loved seeing it here. I think ppl truly would love hearing about all that and the promotional chess moves, selfishly I wish you’d touch more on that maybe it’s own test series 41:13 this is also true - moreover Francis’ reach. As a lifelong fan of both and growing up with boxing, I’ve noticed boxers at the world stage combined with their years of training and skill normally have physical gifts too. They are abnormally high scoring on the ape index with abnormally long reaches with wingspans far above height. This is not normally the case in cross over fights with other combat athletes. Francis has a longer reach than both Joshua and Wilder. Francis was obviously close obviously going to be comfortable in the pocket being the strongest guy fury ever fought in terms of just raw strength but he also had quite a lot of range more so than average ufc fighters . I thought fury would be far more effective at range but maybe didn’t wanna be seen as on his bike vs a non boxer which makes perfect sense and then got clipped. This is why Jon jones was unstoppable at 205 pounds with a reach multiple inches even longer than Francis , a natural heavyweight. Usyk would piece Francis up and imo so would AJ but with the big boys, chin and power is key in crossovers. And tour exact point, Francis had a lot of underlying skills that outpaced a “non boxer”. Should the lineal champion have been able to better handle him? lol sure. But good on Francis for popping the cherry !
It really is crazy how bad the Heavyweight division has been since the 2000s. The fact that Tyson Fury is probably the best of them all is embarrassing. Wilders resume is probably the worst out of any Heavyweight in history. Yes he has a killer right hand but it’s who he’s knocked out with that right hand is the problem. His best win is against an old Ortiz and he wasn’t exactly a great fighter. Good, a few years before yes. They’re all so baaaaad. We went from Joe Louis, Marciano, Liston, Patterson, Charles, Walcott, Foreman, Frazier, Ali, Holmes, to Holyfield, Lewis, Ruddock, Tyson, Mercer, Morrison, to Joshua, Fury, Wilder, Parker, Joyce and Dubois. The skill level has fallen so far it’s almost unbelievable. The Klitschkos were the beginning of the end. Yes they were dominant champions, but they’re level of competition was also pretty bad. It seems today that Heavyweights only have to be physically enormous and that’s the only prerequisite. Most Heavyweights today are giants relative to the ones of yesteryear, and it shows. They’re slow, ponderous, have no idea what a combination is, dont have much punch resistance, throw slow pawing jabs that wouldn’t break wind, have next to no defence or footwork, and rarely have any kind of snap on their punches. If a Tyson-esque fighter came around today, (a fast, combination puncher who could slip punches and get inside) he would clean up the division without much pushback. The division is SCREAMING for another star. It’s wide open for an actual boxer with great fundamentals to take over. The card that just happened last week showed how bad the division actually is. All the supposed best Heavyweights on earth were there and every fight was a dull, painfully slow affair. I’m just glad Fury wasn’t there as I can’t stand the man as a fighter or a person. Some say he reminds them of Ali? Or you fucking serious? Ali had more charisma in his peehole than Fury has in his entire skinny fat body. Fury is a loud obnoxious coke head who constantly screams the same four things “DOSSER,!” “PUSSY!” “I’LL FIGHT YOU ANY DAY OF THE WEEK AND TWICE ON SUNDAYS!!” and “THERES NOT A MAN BORN FROM HIS MOTHER THAT CAN BEAT ME,!” over and over. He spends more time on social media than he does in the ring. The man fights once a decade and let’s not forget the time he uppercutted himself in a fight….can’t remember Ali ever doing that….I needed to go a watch Ali vs Frazier after watching that card.
I think another one is Mayweather vs Marcos Madiana. Mayweather put out a post saying whoever wins this poll will be my next opponent 70% voted for Amir Khan so Mayweather fought Madiana someone Khan had beaten, in a fantastic fight that was voted fight of the year. With how competitive the 1st Mayweather vs Madiana fight was we can see why he wasn't too keen on the Khan fight. Although to be fair fo Mayweather Madiana wasn't a poor opponent in the slightest.
Pretty good vid. But geezeus, you literally just had to google Francis Ngannou's name to get the spelling right. Also, McGregor actually won a national boxing competition as an amateur(though the evidence is murky as the record-keeping for young low-profile amateur isn't great) , on top of which McGregor IS a genuine kickboxer, probably even more so than a MMA fighter.
I think the Mayweather Pacquiao at last did a great job covering the problems with making this fight happen back in 2010 . And I don't think Floyd was purposely trying to stall out a 100 mil fight during the time when the economy was absolute crap . There were too many cooks in the kitchen and bad relations between Bob , Oscar ,Floyd and Haymon.
@@thenedsmmachannel8970the fight happened at the best Time in terms of money. In 2010 Floyd and Manny were big stars but by 2015 they were bigger than ever and they made way much more money because of it
@joel8692 who cares about money when we all wanted to see them in their absolute prime. They were massive stars regardless anyways. They were the 2 big ones during that entire time, it still would've sold over 4 million PPVs but would've been a far better fight if they fought in 2010-2012
Great intro. Other than it still being very corrupt, it's ridiculous how no one wants to fight one another. Instead of fighting one another they just make another belt. There is way too much negative stigma on a loss as well. They lose one fight and that's it. Instead of understanding that losing is part of the game and it's a learning experience they are written off so none of the fighters want to "risk" it. That's why you always see 40 -0. They pad their record with nobodies
i stopped spending money on watching boxing, the boxers don't give two fks about fans other than their money, the boxers now never give what the fans want. sh!t boxers are getting paid more to lose so a guy can keep an undefeated record.
I don't thik you can call fighting against Marvin Hagler cherry picking at any point of is career while I admit that Leonard was tricky and witty and waited to moment where he saw he had the greatest chances and Hagler was not in his prime peak however he was still Hagler he was still dangerous and Leonard wasn't in his prime peak either.
That left hook Morales cracked Maidana with was as hard a shot as I've seen him eat. Idk if I've ever seen Morales throw a hook that good either, if I remember his right hand was always his money punch
In my book, the 5 BIGGEST cherry picking champions are: - Adonis Stevenson - Not fighting a mandatory or top rated boxer for several years. Refusing to unify against Sergey Kovalev. Real fraud champ. - Felix Sturm - Completely avoided all the best middleweights and refused any unification. Even was caught "buying" his Super-duper WBA title to avoid mandatories. - Riddick Bowe - Completely ran from 1# Lennox Lewis entire career. Dumped the WBC title in a trash can. Fough 2 unranked shot fighters as next title defences... - Deontay Wilder - Only defeated aged Luis Ortiz as best title defence and the rest till Fury was low-picks of fights no one wanted. Easy KO victims. - Tyson Fury - Avoided a mandatory obligated rematch with Klitschko, avoided then WBA mandatoty Luis Ortiz and fighting unrated journeyman Derreck Chisora for a 3rd time + fighting a non-record of boxing opponent in MMA champ Francis (that greatly back-fired) and have runned like a maniac away from Oleksandr Usyk unification....yeah. These 5 men truly ran to the hills to avoid fighting the real challanges! Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis, Roy Jones Jr, Oscar De La Hoya etc are champs who took on the best of the best.
Hancho you should do a video with joe Vincent. A mean you two guys are the best at what you do. He does all sports so yous could collab on a boxing video. A would love to see that, what’s up kings and queens and nobody does it like Joseph Vincent. Lol. Would be cool.

You missed one in Barrera vs Hamed. Hamed cherry picked Barrera over Morales or Marquez because he believed he was naturally smaller and because Barrera had been stopped before vs Junior Jones. Barrera beat Hamed and basically retired him.
I think a lot of people give Sugar Ray grief about the Hagler fight but there are reasons to praise him too. I think the grief comes out of the decision which a lot of people think is a robbery but I watched that fight on the day it happened and it wasn't a robbery. It was a close fight that probably should have gone to Hagler but it was a very close fight. I haven't thought about it in a while but I do remember that Leonard was smart enough to steal rounds and people sometimes hold that against him but that's just good ring craft. Also you've got to give Sugar credit for fighting a man who, if you saw them side-by-side you would realize, was the much bigger guy. I definitely miss the Four Kings era.
Yep. This was a great video except for the Leonard part. My god, to call Hagler a cherry? People forget that Leonard was the only one who saw any decline in Hagler, and that he also explicitly and honestly expressed that he had waited. No one says "I'm cherry -picking" out loud, you know. Leonard was a natural welterweight and Hagler a natural middleweight, and arguably the best middleweight ever. You don't call a smaller retired man challenging a bigger all time great pretty much still in his prime "cherry picking".
@@DoctorEduardo That criticism I can take. He was like that. The sad thing about the Duran II fight was that it worked. It almost ruined the great Duran's legacy. Duran also had his bid of mind games with Leonard in his first fight, calling Leonard's wife out as a whore in public, which is even by boxing standards a step over the line. It actually had the effect of luring Leonard into a brawl, something that Duran had an edge over Leonard. The thing is, I personally don't think it was a mind game played on Duran's part, I just can't rid the feeling that it was a genuine outburst of Duran's rage at that time. In any case, what the heck do I know...
@@clubeyxander5132Hard for me to buy later SM champion (only a fight later, no less) Leonard as a natural "welterweight". Sure, Hagler was more used to the middleweight division and perhaps, naturally bigger in the ring, but by no means Leonard was a "small fighter", not to mention Leonard had already won a major title at Jr middleweight, so it was'nt the gargantuan 2 division jump. I would consider It something similar to the controversial "Canelo-Kovalev" situation, wich on future years is going to be seen on a similar light
@@desanctisapostata I respect your opinion. That said, I still stand by my opinion that at that time Leonard was the smaller fighter, and that though he was sometimes very sneaky in choosing the timing of his fights, he was never a cherry picker. Hagler was no cherry.

@@6tiple6ix6afiahe's not wrong though and telling people to cry more is a weak ass response you're the only one responding with emotions
Complete lies. Wilder was trying to fight Fury before he got on drugs.
That performance by Morales against Maidana is the stuff of legend!

We need more fighters like Usyk and Zhang!
Fury vs inoue 2024

@CookyKrhemRuiz was a late replacement for Miller, who was ranked 2 for WBA, and 3 for WBO. Late replacements aren't the same as cherry picking as it's much more difficult last minute
Fury really thought Francis was just like Wilder
Would Wilder vs Fury count as a 🍒? Fury was out 2 years, depresssed, on drugs, 380 pounds. Seems like a cherry pick gone wrong to me!

They were exciting to watch
Now it's lame again like the Klitschko era
Oof to that last line
@@jesussuarez1011 😂😂😂
At least Fury has fought one mandatory (Whyte). But other than that his regin leaves much to be desired.
I disagree with the point that "Fury’s WBC title reign can be hit with the same exact critiques as Wilder’s was"
In fact, with the exception of Klitschko, Fury's entire career can be be hit with the same critiques.

Happy holidays Hancho. Best boxing channel hands down
11:08 this is notably incorrect only worth mentioning bc ufc sitting champions earn what’s called participation points.
I think ppl truly would love hearing about all that and the promotional chess moves, selfishly I wish you’d touch more on that maybe it’s own test series
41:13 this is also true - moreover Francis’ reach.
Francis was robbed against Fury and he would KILL aj and usyk. Ur just a racist boxing fan that is mad ngannou a black king destroyed you guys
Erik Morales is one of the all-time greatest fighters to ever laces them up.
Very good break down on what should and shouldn't be happening and also how things can turn abruptly wrong for the right/wrong reasons in boxing.
Keep Don King out of boxing.
Well, now Ngannou got Ko'd in 2 rounds by Anthony Joshua
How tf is that a cherry pick gone wrong

I think another one is Mayweather vs Marcos Madiana. Mayweather put out a post saying whoever wins this poll will be my next opponent 70% voted for Amir Khan so Mayweather fought Madiana someone Khan had beaten, in a fantastic fight that was voted fight of the year. With how competitive the 1st Mayweather vs Madiana fight was we can see why he wasn't too keen on the Khan fight. Although to be fair fo Mayweather Madiana wasn't a poor opponent in the slightest.
Insane level of content right here
Pretty good vid.
6:02 Just like Leonard stalled on fighting Hagler until Hagler showed a decline, Mayweather did the same with the Pacquiao fight.
Floyd is older than Pacquiao. Pacquiao fought for another 9 years
@jeffrejr1 regardless that fight should've happened 4-6 prior than when it took place.
You picked the wrong Fury fight - Fury-Wilder was the best example in YEARS of a cherry pick gone wrong

Nah.. respectfully, that was an ill-advised bet on your part.
Nah you dumb for that Parker had a very good chance of beating Wilder
Should've factored in Wilder's inactivity before making that bet.
Or that he's never fought anyone in the top 10 besides Fury
As much as we hate Wilder, Parker ain't a cherry pick.

That left hook Morales cracked Maidana with was as hard a shot as I've seen him eat. Idk if I've ever seen Morales throw a hook that good either, if I remember his right hand was always his money punch
Wilder has the most padded record and was the most protected fighter in HW history.
In my book, the 5 BIGGEST cherry picking champions are:
- Adonis Stevenson - Not fighting a mandatory or top rated boxer for several years.

Miss the old HBO fight nights.
Leonard was the underdog and naturally smaller fighter and coming off 3 years of inactivity, and did enough to win. I don't get the criticism.
