    Man I like your setup. It’s what I’d call a humble shop. It works, functional. I have a 24x24 “shop” it’s filled with all kinds of junk but eventually I’d like to set my self up decently

    If the dust collector is 110, Harbor freight sells remote-controlled outlets that allow you to turn on & off your D.C. from any tool that is plumbed into that system. They retail for about $10 and I think they come in multi-packs. It does not have the ability to turn on D.C. when a tool is turned on. You will need the remote for that. Compared to the other switches sold on Amazon and Rockler with a price tag between $40-$75, it's worth a try. You can always return it if you don't like it.

I would love to get a cabinet style table saw. I have it integrated into my assembly table which helps with the space issue. I look forward to the next video.

      Thank you for watching. I will be back to making videos soon. I just had a pretty busy couple months at my day job(the one that pays the bills. Lol) I heard the dewalt contractor saw is pretty nice. I have a Hitachi I use for job site work. People make a lot of nice furniture with less but it is nice to have a repeatable and stable cabinet saw. Also, I will pick up the remote outlets the next time I get to harbor freight and give them a try. Thanks for the tip!

    New sub. I agree with others, really like your approach. Honest. Down to earth humble nature. I saw a video in which a guy used an Olympic weight plate as a wheel for his leg vise. When you pointed out your broken wheel on your HF lathe I thought it might be a possible fix. Amazon has several 2.5 lb. 1 in. grip (the hole for the bar) for around 10 dollars. Again thanks for the videos.

      @@TwistedWorkshop77 I thought so too. I first saw the Olympic weight used on RUclips channel woodkiefer1, and his video "new leg vise build part 3" shows the weight/wheel on the thumbnail. There are really clear views of it at the first of the video. Keep up the great work!

    You are correct. Keep the Matco Box. You will find uses for it even in your wood shop. I have 3 tool boxes in my shop and use them for all sorts of things. Keep plumbing tools together for the house problems. Electrical tools, meters and supplies in another section. I store all of my hand grinders, sanders, buffers pullers etc. in the large drawers. You will find the uses as your needs arise.

    Put a base on the tool chest. Either shelves/drawers or open space for things. It saves your back and it'll at least not eat up the vertical space as badly. More than a few guys have done this with theirs including Popular Woodworking editors.
    Your large yellow box is a ton of storage. Maybe move things around in it for some woodworking stuff. I personally use my big box for home repair and auto all in one. Weird tools like the Basin Wrench live in mine.

I enjoyed the shop tour but wished you would have shared some of your other tools. I believe I saw some pretty nice bench planes and maybe a Starret square?
    Btw....If you plan to ditch your current router table, look at Summerfeld Tools for Woodworking (You Tube). Marc Summerfeld goes into great detail on how to make a router cabinet using tools you already have and a router bit set that's matched for cabinetry. I made his router bench, came out great. Loved this vid and your shop, it's a well-kitted out shop by anyone's definition but it also feels so much more realistic for you average hobbyist viewer like myself than some of the ridiculously spacious shops and state of the art tool suites of many other woodworking content creators. Not that there's anything wrong with that either, but for a beginner, it does get a bit discouraging only seeing people with massive stand-alone dream shops fully kitted out with Festool and General International. Keep up the content, subbed.

    Is that a single board that goes through your thickness planer as an infeed/outfeed?

    • @TwistedWorkshop77
      @TwistedWorkshop77  4 года назад

      It is a piece of melamine with a stop block on the bottom. I use it as a planer sled if I have a warped board that's too wide for my jointer. The slick surface and the flatness of the melamine work well to reduce snipe and make it easy to feed boards through. And I have a place to store my planer sled!
