I want to see more full on professional RTS guys face against each other. This battle is epic but it’s just so unorganized with missed opportunities. But all’s fair in love and war, right?

I actually kind of like the human error element, makes battles much more realistic. Plus we have to remember that what we're seeing isn't necessarily what they see due to fog of war. One thing I don't like about 'professional' gaming is that it always boils down to just cracking the most effective metas and build orders, and matches all tend to look and play the same because the motivation is money, not entertainment. You almost never get surprises, or come backs, or any kind of crazy circumstance because 'professional' players just don't let that kind of stuff happen much, it just becomes a contest of who can click faster.
1:13 I think you are right, I believe that the king of Saxony was made the ruler of the grand duchy of Warsaw by Napoleon, cause I again think, that the kings of Saxony have often been the rulers of the Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth, for very long. Ofcourse until the commonwealth was completely gobbled up by Russia,Austria and Prussia
The Elector of Saxony was made King of Poland due to the Polish Regency Council of noblemen, and they elected him to be their King. Napoleon actually dismantled that council and put one of his Marshals Poniatowski as Grand Prince of Poland.

They were controlling the commonwealth for some parts of the 18th century
@@manualsm1631 Poniatowski became Marshal in 1813/14 so you are actually wrong, he had that title because of previous Polish King, Stanisław August Poniatowski.
So basicly, Duchy of Warsaw was in personal Union with Saxony but they had seprete army, goverment, treasure etc.

They need a new Napoleon type game. Imagine the dismemberment from three kingdoms when a cannon hits someone and the map they could make could be as big as mortal empires but do the entire globe it would be absolutely amazing.
CA can't pull of realistic warfare for this time period. This mod took years to develop and is NOTHING like vanilla Napoleon Total War. NTW 2 from CA would be shallow arcade like game. It would take 5 years to make it playable by modders add to they would probably make modding even harder than it is. This takes ton of reasearch, testing and balcing devs would never do. So maybe in 15 years we get something similar if second Napoleon comes within next 5-7.
Like sure it would have better graphics and effects but it would be shallow without tactics and strategy of this time period.
Unfortunately we are stuck with ass fantasy warhammer arcadey titles so lets hope somebody else will give more care to the napoleonic era
Pray to all these men in the game that have fallen in this brutal battle and plus I think this was the most bad ass battle we seen yet

Yes, its messy and there sure where some mistakes. But for me this perfectly shows the mess, the disoriented chaos and pure destruction of a napoleonic battlefield. Its pure madness and i absolutely love it
It reminded me of War and Peace when most of the time no one knew what was going on. Everything was so disorganized no orders could possibly be effective. Just men charging into the smoke and coming back over and over until someone wins. If this were in hardcore mode, it would have looked supremely realistic.
The classical music feels a lot better in this video than the last NTW3 vid. It picks up when the battle is more intense.

You mentioned in an old video how cool it'd be to play a game where you are at a certain level in the chain of command and can receive orders from your own higher-ups, well that is basically Scourge of war. It's like if you gave NTW 3 steroids XD

Your panning of the field has really improved. This replay I noticed you were minding the mini map and covering the battle well. We need more NTW3. The forced retreats and maneuvering makes the game more practical.

I would like to see more ntw3 because their is more strategy than Rome 2 and it is awesome to see all the smoke and hear the crack of the guns
please man, their is not more strategy, because with ntw3 they are basically all ranged with rome you need to know how to maneuver you’re troops and how to angle them and how to set up your skirms, more strategy and more epic ness with rome

@Pixaleted Apollo: The Polish faction is in fact t the Duchy of Varsovie, a state created by Napoleon on partially Polish territories taken from the Kingdom of Prussia. If a link is made with Saxony, it is because Napoleon gave this duchy to the King of Saxony as an ally

A duke of Duchy of Warsaw was also a Saxon king. Also during the commonwealth era there were 2 saxon Kings

The Saxony-Poland faction is due to the Elector of Saxony at that time was also the Duke of Warsaw, Frederick Augustus I. Historically the kings of Poland (before the partition) were reigning in Saxony as well.
More like over the 1700s the Electors of Saxony (from the House of Wettin) were repeatedly elected as the Kings of Poland, with some back-and forth with the Leszckzynski magnate family.
But when it comes to the turbulent quarter-century from the beginning of the French Revolution to the final fall of Napoleon you pretty much need a scorecard to track all the political rearrangements being made and rolled back and modified all over the place anyway.
I think what the French were trying to do was the oblique order or better known as the declined flank. One row too hold a line but packs one flank with more units. The idea is to over power the one flank while the rest of the line holds.

The Duke of Saxony was elected as King of Poland and Grand-Duke of Lithuania. Poland-Lithuania was ruled by elected kings for a long time, and the polish nobles elected that king from different nations of the time.
The old Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth was dead and gone by this timeframe though. The _relevant_ political arrangement here is the personal union, in the person of Frederick Augustus I, of the Kingdom of Saxony formed out of the old Electorate of Saxony when Napoleon dissolved the Holy Roman Empire in 1806 and the Duchy of Warsaw "Bonie" made out of the Prussian possessions in Poland in 1807.

I LOVE NTW3!!!!!
The french made 3 major mistakes that game that i can see.
-Blobbing in front of the Russian cannons.
-Allowing that cav come in and sweep 4 pieces of infantry right off the front lines just crumpled that whole front.
But the biggest? Giving up the initiative right off the bat and allowing just 1 team member to push alone like that. Plus he did it along the map side putting his troops along the border which allowed the first two mistakes to occur. Great game to watch though!
Right when I saw the French troops blob up in front of the cannons, I knew it was over. You NEVER wanna do that unless you are sure that you can reach the cannons before they fire or your outnumbering your enemy and your mom is calling you down for dinner

Maybe the French needed to anchor their advance with some flank units forming square. Russian cavalry got away with their spoiling attacks.

The French failed to set up their firing lines in the beginning which costed them lots of troops.
Whenever I face a cav force. I always make sure that I have cav support close behind in my weakest positions.
Also keep my eyes peeled for cav charges that way I can form square in time.
As for the Russians I applaud them by taking advantage of the French when they were out of position.

There was a moment where French could have win - before the cavary charge that succsesfuly took out 5 units at once, the French almost managed to divide Russian army into two

Why the cav units are crowd?
No need for balance.
Even the description says different, armor and shield stats give unit defence against bullets. Its possible to make lower number of cav more effective.
