I've been using my 4x2 for a year now. So far so good. From 2013 xlt manual now using wildtrak 4x2 2023 model . I'm enjoying my car so no regrets.. and yeah the oil maintenance medyo mahal talaga but the comfort of the ride of this car.. "I love it"
Mahal ng parts ng ford. Wala masyadong aftermarket parts na mura. More on oem talaga bagsak mo. Kya mahal maintenance ng ford. Same with mazda kasi halos same lng naman sila ng parts.
We have this as family far. One kami sa mga unang nag purchase ng 4x2 before the public release. Wala kaming naging proboem sa ranger. Unless siguro mag offroad and overlanding. Madalas pinang lilipat ko lang yung ford ng gamit ko everytime mag rerelocate ako ng city.

If a 4x2 CAN GET YOU! Out of that sticky and wet situation then again,.You've got nothing to worry about 😉
This is the car we've chosen coming from a 2018 Fortuner V. sawa na kami sa tagtag ng Fort. 4x2 lang pinili namin, hindi naman kami nag ooff road. medyo dikit price niya sa Ranger 4x4 Sport. kaso dami kulang din nun, like rear ac vents, rear disk brakes. medyo deal breaker. unless of course, trip mo talaga mag off road tapos nasa 1.6m ++ lang budget mo, pwede mo consider yung Sport 4x4 ü
4x2, less components = less things to break and lower maintenance cost, it’s lighter = little better fuel economy… if you plan on doing light off roading, get better tires… former 4x4 owner that spent 95% of it’s time on pavement…😅
I would suggest that you'd go for a 4x4, you can never go wrong with an additional 4x4 capable pickup truck + you can also see the lack of sensors and features from the 4x2 wildtrak, for a pickup truck with that long body and no rear sensors and just cameras, the reverse assist braking really comes in handy. I myself have a luxxe yellow 4x4 wildtrak and it never fails to impress me, power, stability, no body roll on higher speed, definitely a 4x4 I would suggest
For sure you can't go wrong with a 4x4 truck. But 300k is a lot of money. I'd sugges buy what your lifestyle requires. If its just a daily that gets loaded from time to time a 4x2 is good enough. Of course 4x4 is better but the 4x2 will do most of the jobs done with ease.
you could ALSO, not go wrong with a 4x2, is more fuel efficient, and not everyone will tow all the time. i suggest you go for the one that best suits your lifestyle.
you get a 4x4 variant just for the other ADAS capabilities? 4x4 is kind of useless if you're in the metro, your 300k unused. What use-case of the 4x4 do you think if you're living in the metro
Naka drive na ako ng first gen raptor. We planning on buying the next gen ranger either the wildtrak or raptor. Same lang ba talaga sila ng drive feels? Di pa kasi ako naka drive ng wildtrak
Wildtrak feels so good. I can’t imagine myself driving other pickups anymore. I used to own a Navara and Colorado. Also, the Raptor is a performance pickup truck. It’s not your work horse.
Not necessarily, lol i owned a farmed in high pick Mindanao area, got 4x2 and 4x4 pickup.. hnd ko nggamit 4x4 not unless malakas ulan and floody road, but most of the time i used 4x2.. And tested 4x2 mode can be more fuel efficient
@@dispelledword7818 hmm, thanks for the feedback, but sana hindi ka naglagay ng "lol" that's taunting. Naisip ko lang dahil kaunti lang diperensya ng sport sa 4*2 wildtrak. dahil OFW ako, misis ko ang nagma-manage, is it worth buying 4*4 wildtrak for added safety features? thank you
After many months Still deciding between Ranger Wildtrak 4x2 or Nissan Navara 4x2. Any helpful tips? For daily driving with occassional(1x a year) 6hr provincial trips.
The best way is to test drive them both. That is exactly what I did. And I am telling you man, the Navarra 4x2 doest impressed me. But when I test the Ranger, o my, AYOKO NG BUMABA. As in.!! Sabi ko eto na talaga. Lalo na sa features, technologies, and infotainment. Grabe ang laki ng lamang ni Ranger. Kaya eto kumuha agad ako ng Wildtrak 4x2. The same color na nandyan sa review.
We have a Navara and test driven a Ranger. Man, Navara is so behind in terms of comfort. I think the only advantage of the Navara is the timing chain driven engine which according to them, will last a lifetime of the car.
good luck turning-on 4x4 on the whole trip for hauling and cargo 😂. 4x2 can do hauling and cargo too, where pickups has 400+ Nm of torques for that reason 4x2 or not.
@@jamesmadlangtuta3156 sure on the normal road, but can the 4x2 can get out in the sticky situation like mud, sand, gravel and rock?while carrying your stuff and cargo?heaving a high torque is great but it's not enough to pull you out when you don't have enough traction. Goodluck with that.
I've been driving the Next-gen Ranger 4x2 WT for over a year now, here are things I've observed about it: - Delayed power: there are times that it feels like no power is coming through even when pushing on the pedal all the way - The auto hold brake breaks oftenly: this feature allows you to instantly engage the e-brake (or hand brake) by pushing on the brake pedal, very useful in traffic but many owners, myself included encountered an issue where the feature automatically gets disabled because of overheating - Delayed ifotainment system: I use apple carplay and while I love the wireless connection feature, there are times when it automatically gets disconnected (probably due to external signal interferences) and there's a slight delay between what's happening on your phone and the carplay audio output - Windshield wiper jumps incessantly: so this latest ranger's wipers have an 'OFF' state where it gets tucked in and slightly hidden just behind the hood when not in use, when in use mode it will automatically spring up and do its 'ON' state, there are times however that it jumps to the 'OFF' state even while turned ON, I noticed this only happens in AUTO mode though - Center console rear AC vents: a bit nitpicky on this but I've had backseat passengers complain as to why the vents get closed or turned off when pointing the left and right air vents all the way to the left and right respectively😅 - Truck bed 230V outlet is basically useless: I once tried powering up my drill by plugging it on the external outlet to do some woodworking but turns out it can't power it continously (the car engine was running and battery was still new mind you) Other than these, there's still a lot to love about the car. We've gone on camps and it hasn't let us down on the light offroad trails and river crossings we've taken it to albeit being a 4x2.

- Delayed power: there are times that it feels like no power is coming through even when pushing on the pedal all the way
- The auto hold brake breaks oftenly: this feature allows you to instantly engage the e-brake (or hand brake) by pushing on the brake pedal, very useful in traffic but many owners, myself included encountered an issue where the feature automatically gets disabled because of overheating
- Delayed ifotainment system: I use apple carplay and while I love the wireless connection feature, there are times when it automatically gets disconnected (probably due to external signal interferences) and there's a slight delay between what's happening on your phone and the carplay audio output
- Windshield wiper jumps incessantly: so this latest ranger's wipers have an 'OFF' state where it gets tucked in and slightly hidden just behind the hood when not in use, when in use mode it will automatically spring up and do its 'ON' state, there are times however that it jumps to the 'OFF' state even while turned ON, I noticed this only happens in AUTO mode though
- Center console rear AC vents: a bit nitpicky on this but I've had backseat passengers complain as to why the vents get closed or turned off when pointing the left and right air vents all the way to the left and right respectively😅
- Truck bed 230V outlet is basically useless: I once tried powering up my drill by plugging it on the external outlet to do some woodworking but turns out it can't power it continously (the car engine was running and battery was still new mind you)
Other than these, there's still a lot to love about the car. We've gone on camps and it hasn't let us down on the light offroad trails and river crossings we've taken it to albeit being a 4x2.
