    Something I've noticed is that most streamers don't realize they can open their inventory when taking consecutive damage and use items to heal quickly so at the end of the attack you aren't in the red health bar or dead.

      so there is weather in the game? i didin´t know that!

    • @gamester512
      @gamester512 7 месяцев назад

      @@soluciones11s.a.s81 Yes. There's sunny weather, rain, and downpour. Rain and Downpour will cause anything outdoors to become Drenched, which makes them much more resistant to Fire damage (and they can't be set on fire either), but in turn they become far more vulnerable to Ice & Lightning damage (Ice can freeze them solid extremely quickly when they're drenched, and Lightning can stun them and arc to other nearby enemies). So weather actually makes a difference in combat. And some enemies have a natural resistance or even immunity to certain damage types as well. A Cyclops for instance is weak to Lightning & Ice but resistant to Fire, while Ghosts/Phantasms are immune to all physical attacks but take massive damage from magic, and Golems are effectively immune to magic but take massive damage from physical attacks that hit the magic medallions animating them (when fighting a Golem it only takes damage when the medallions are hit, and it will not die until every single medallion has been broken).
      If the game gets DLC, including a new area/region to explore, I wouldn't be surprised if they added more weather conditions like Snow, a Dust Storm, or a Heatwave. The latter two in perticular could fit perfectly into the Battahl region as it's primarily made up of dry and arid canyons, so a Dust/Sandstorm could fit in just fine.
      The time of day also matters, as traveling by day and camping/resting by night is often the safest method of travel, but you _can_ travel by night as well, but the world is more dangerous when traveling at night, as you will run into different enemies at night (particularly Undead like Ghosts/Phantasms, Skeletons, Zombies, Wights, & Liches). So it's a sort or risk/reward decision as far as whether you want to travel during the day or night. And your visibility at night is also severely hindered at night, even if you have your lantern turned on, and even if you have a Mage that cast the Empyrean spell to temporarily light up the area, it only reveals so much. So wandering around aimlessly at night can get you lost or cause you to stumble right into an enemy ambush.
      Monsters and other enemies can and will fight each other as well (for instance, you can stumble across Bandits fighting Goblins or a Cyclops, and if you enter the fray they will not only attack each other, but you and your Pawns as well), and sometimes you could be in the middle of fighting something and then something _else_ joins the fight (for instance, I was once fighting an Ogre and a bunch of Goblins and while I'm still dealing with the Ogre, a Griffin swoops in and joins the fight against me, the soldiers guarding the oxcart I was riding, the Ogre, and the Goblins). Depending on the enemies present, fights can get really chaotic and unpredictable at times, and that makes things more exciting). Enemies in the overworld don't always spawn in the same place either. Where you previously encountered a Cyclops for instance, you might instead find a Minotaur or Ogre there instead....or possibly even a Golem. Some enemies can even use the environment against you. Goblins for instance can pick up stuff lying around and throw it at you, from small stuff like rocks and vials of tar/oil to boulders & explosive barrels. Harpies can grab you and lift you into the air to carry you off of a ledge and then just drop you to your death if you can't wiggle free or your pawns can't hit the harpy hard enough to force it to let go.
      Combat in this game encourages smart and clever tactics over just running in swinging your weapon aimlessly (the latter tactic is a good way to just get yourself killed, in fact, especially as a "glass cannon" Vocation like the Thief).

    • @gamester512
      @gamester512 7 месяцев назад

      @@oddperson8427 That enemy is the Dullahan (one of the new types of monsters added in DD2). It's a type of Undead, and there's a time-sensitive side quest that actually requires you to fight one (you have to reach the Dullahan quickly to stop it from killing a certain NPC who was sent to kill it [as a suicide mission, as he's intentionally sent with far too few men to be expected to actually kill the Dullahan] by a noble who wants the guy dead so that the noble can steal his wife, and if you take too long the Dullahan will kill the guy, as even if you arrive at the location incredibly quickly, the NPC in question will already be fighting the Dullahan when you actually arrive), though that guy clearly stumbled into a random Dullahan out in the wild (this is one reason why traveling at night is very risky, as nighttime is when Undead begin to spawn, so if you're inexperienced, under-leveled, or under-equipped, the safe bet is to only travel by day and set up camp once night starts to fall so that you can sleep through the night and resume your travels in the morning).

    • @vladdracul5072
      @vladdracul5072 7 месяцев назад

      @@gamester512 It took me a while to get there, including camping at least twice for the night, and when I arrived I couldn't at first find the way, but I was still in time, and the fight wasn't too hard at that point with me as archer and a fighter, mage and sorcerer pawn. The first time I met one, inexperienced, under-leveled, and under-equipped, I stood no chance though.

    • @gamester512
      @gamester512 7 месяцев назад

      @@vladdracul5072 The Dullahan is much more dangerous to melee vocations due to it's scream that knocks you down and stuns you (it knocks you down and stuns you even if you have the Mystic Spearhand's shield active that normally makes you just "Nope!" anything that hits you) and this makes you easy prey for it's grab attack.
      As your team consisted primarily of ranged attackers (Archer, Mage, & Sorcerer), that meant you were essentially at zero risk of falling victim to it's scream with your main damage-dealers (as I'm assuming your fighter was there to act as a tank), and thus only your Fighter would be vulnerable to the scream. That, and the Dullahan lacks ranged damage from what I saw in my two encounters with it, it's a purely melee-focused enemy, so if you can play "keep away" with it, you can trivialize the thing with minimal trouble. A more melee-focused party can have a harder time if the Dullahan keeps using it's scream to stun everything around it and then use it's grab.
      Plus, when you fight the one in the side quest you have like 4 or 5 allied NPCs helping you so that it's something like an 8-on-1 fight, which gives you even more of an advantage with your Fighter and those NPCs keeping it locked down in melee while you and your other two pawns can hammer it from range with near impunity.

    • @gamester512
      @gamester512 7 месяцев назад

      I don't think he's crouching. At character creation you can change your character's "stance" so that they walk more or less upright (or possibly to imply that they're old and age is hindering their ability to stay upright). That's likely why he's walking so low to the ground, he probably made the characters "stance" look that way at character creation.
