Thanks for the video. Just repasted my G15. It may be a lot to disassemble, but it's doable. Let's not forget, that a lot of devices nowadays are glued down wherever possible to complicate or even prevent disassembly.
@@koolingmonsterI have given you the watch time and now thinking I can't do this all myself (Confidence Shacking in Corner). Let's hope I can find someone who can do that for 10 euros! 🥶 Btw, thanks for letting us know how to replace thermal paste
We are sorry for the disappointing results. You can double check if dust were cleaned thoroughly, also if thermal paste was applied incorrectly. We also welcome you to try our KOLD-01 Thermal Paste, which is specially designed to be longlisting, and is very different from other brands. We use a special non-solvent formulation design that results in better cooling as well as longer lifespan.
might just be how the laptops cooling works, a max of 95-100c is normal for H series cpus and a good temp for the gpu would be 75 to 85 max so your laptop is well within spec
You are very welcome! Thermal pads are used when there are larger gaps between components that thermal paste cannot fill. If your laptop has thermal pads inside, there is no need to change them.
In that case, the screws might be stripped. Next time, you can try our KOMBO-01 screwdriver set, specially designed for laptop repair. Its precision and hardness are specifically adjusted to avoid stripping screws. The best ways to avoid stripping screws are: Choose a high-quality screwdriver. Select the correct bit. Apply vertical downward pressure when turning the screw. You can refer to our video #83 for an explanation (How to avoid and fix stripped screws in laptop disassembly).
I have the G15 5511, with i7-11800H and Nvidia 3060, at the present moment i'm struggling with the throttling problem, my CPU hits 100ºC (212ºF) all the while playing Fortnite, for example. I already try at this point "metal liquid" and the temperature cool down to 96ºC (204,8ºF) sometimes, but I still have a problem with a big fall of frame rate. I don't know if there is more else to do...
Liquid metal also degrades overtime and needs to be replaced, however we would still recommend using a thermal paste for much easier and safer replacement. We would suggest following this tutorial to clean out the dust clogging the fans and maybe give our thermal paste a try!
@FalasDiversas If you hit WIN + R and type in "powercfg.cpl" , you can tweak the CPU power settings. I usually keep the processor power at 95 or 96% (instead of 99%) when plugged in and 89 to 94 when unplugged. Hope this tip helps.
You are correct. Spreading thermal paste is not required but is a easy way to check if you applied too much thermal paste. Accoring to our study, as long as the amount of thermal paste used is correct, the application method and whether you spread thermal paste or not does not matter. You can view our detailed experiment here: koolingmonster.com/insights/is-the-buttered-toast-method-a-good-thermal-paste-pattern-vs-the-pea-size-method
Under normal circumstances, it is possible to replace it every six months to a year, but we do not recommend judging solely based on time, as it largely depends on how you use your computer and the quality of the thermal paste. A better approach is to measure the CPU/GPU temperatures. For more details, you can refer to our Video #1 ("How often to change thermal paste") and Video #84 ("How to know if your laptop is overheating and if the CPU thermal paste needs replacing?") for a more thorough discussion on this topic ❤️~
I am now never going to replace thermal paste on my own after watching this , going to sevice center
Actually, if you follow our tutorial step by step, you should be able to complete it successfully.

My toxic trait is thinking I can do this
Give it a try! Our tutorials are very detailed and easy to follow. A lot of people with no previous experiences at all are able to follow with ease!
@@koolingmonster yea fair enough i paid 10 euros for someone experienced to do it and it runs well
It's easy but it take too much effort. If I could trust someone else to do it, I would paid him

Nice, now i know what to do, my laptop needs a thermal paste and pads replaced, thanks for this video, it will help me a lot
The configuration on dell made a lot more difference in temps. Unistalling some apps, undervolting, basically optimizing windows.
Your advice is very professional.
Thank you so much man for this tutorial. I did it on my own because you. ❤
You are very welcome. Thank you for the comment! We are so glad that our videos or products might be of help!
Followed all the steps
Used artics thermal paste
Yet temps still the same
Around 85° on gpu on load
And 87° cpu

Just finished mine took me 1 and half hours hopefully it fixes my temps.
LOL,Glad our video was helpful to you!
I have this laptop and its pain to repaste..haha..need to disassemble all parts😂
Haha, indeed, repasting thermal paste is a challenge! It requires patience and some skill. So, I hope our tutorial can help you out!
Can I refer to this video for my g15 5521 se?
Is there any difference in the laptops?
Hello! Dell G15 5521 and Dell G15 5511 are two gaming laptops that belong to Dell's G-series product line, so of course you can refer to them
thanks for the video, are thermal pads necessary ? if yes, where do we put them ?
You are very welcome! Thermal pads are used when there are larger gaps between components that thermal paste cannot fill. If your laptop has thermal pads inside, there is no need to change them.
Got it. Thanks again and your video was very helpful@@koolingmonster

I undervolted mine. My cpu hits 92 under a load.
Try using a cooling pad if you aren't using one already. and room temperature also affects the temps.
This looks awfully similar to the g15 5515 but i could be wrong
That is correct, they are very similar laptops.
What “excessive stress” means?
Perfeckt🎉

How often should u change the thermal paste
when you face heating issues or every 8-9 months
