Thermal paste generally has better thermal conductivity than these materials, so there should be no problem with cooling. Some people say not to use thermal paste because typical thermal pastes are too runny and their flowability and viscosity are not specially optimized. The gaps between the small chips and the heatsink are too large, causing the paste to flow away easily. Therefore, it is important to use high-quality thermal paste.
