    • Oil Change - Mini Coop...
The interval of spark plug change on this mini cooper S is between 50 000 km and 100 000 km ; However there can be exceptions if the car is driven slowly in average and the rest of the maintenance is done on time , then you can go over 100 000 km with the same spark plugs .
But in this situation where there is a turbocharger is most likely that the previous owner did drive it more aggressive therefore the spark plugs will be worn up quickly.

I own a 2015 Mini Cooper S Countryman ALL4 ( R60 ) , so this helped me greatly in changing out my Coil Packs . One thing that helped me greatly , was popping both long , skinny pieces above the Coil Pack Head . This was done carefully using a flat head screwdriver . They snap back into place after connecting the Coil Pack to it's Connector . Mini Dealership wanted to charge $500+ to change all 4 . I bought a new set for under $140 shipped . Labor cost would've been what they wanted to charge for something that took me less than 30 minutes .

You said 16mm? My original plugs are 14mm 12 point.

@@jenniferfeitel9479 ended up being a 14mm. Make sure you use a 3/8 drive socket. I tried a 1/2 drive socket and the walls were too thick and I got the socket wedged down the hole. Took an hour to get it out! 🙄

@@bigworm1363 when you replace with new spark plugs what is socket size then? 5/8 thin wall 6 point?

@@jenniferfeitel9479 The spark plugs I bought were 14 mm 12 point. I just wanted to make sure that somebody uses a thin wall socket so that it doesn’t get stuck like it did to me.

Yes it’s 14mm not 16 and for those who want to change their plugs , never use aftermarket always original
