I was in the hall when this went down. Still trying to catch my breath. Ketch and the boys nail it. The Old Crows so captured the wild abandon of the original. Only in Nashville.
Kris Kristofferson was working as a janitor in the building and listening in at the recording of Dylan putting down this song. I think I read that in a book. That and Bob Dylan introduced The Beatles to weed. Using Ringo as a demo 🤠👍🇺🇲
I had the pleasure of enjoying these guys last night at The Pabst Theater in Milwaukee....opened with this totally raucous tune, and kept the energy up all night.... So much fun was had by all !!!!! I highly recommend Old Crow live !!!
Fantastic! Great Song! Overwhelming at first (in a good way), often times songs that start strong can't keep it up but they did it with this one. Great Work!
Leave it to Old Crow Medicine Show to get all raucous and rowdy, and do justice to “Rainy Day Women #12 And 35.” Story goes that Bob Dylan and the gang of Nashville studio musicians got smashed and trashed on booze and weed, then recorded the song. It became one of Dylan’s biggest hits, and he would enjoy this cover version. I watched it three times.
This song is something else; when well performed it is desperating, a psychotic cry against the system and the feeling that the system is all against you... Most people seem never understood it.
Here is a version by tribute band, MAYA LOVE for Bob on his 80th Birthday. We opened with Rainy Day Women #12 & 35: ruclips.net/video/OZc9d5lfkzM/видео.html
it's an album celebrating the 50th anniversary of Blonde on Blonde, the first double album in RocknRoll history- recorded in the Country Music capital of Nashville- saw them perform the whole album here in Sydney Australia last night- with 3 Tom Petty songs as part of a 5 song encore-amazingly energetic performance, changing instruments for each song- I have seen them before doing their own songs and covers and was very impressed, but last night's show was a total buzz from start to finish
This was a planned project to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Blonde on Blonde, which was recorded here in Nashville. Trust me, Ketch and the boys wanted to do this project and they delivered.
When Bob Dylan wrote this I bet he didn't see Old Crows flying in and making it their own..Superbly executed. ✌🥰🎶
I can't stop playing this track. Love it.

When Bob D. wrote this he said he wanted it to sound like a "Salvation Army Band".....GAWD I love Dylan.
A Demented Salvation Army Band
It certainly fits the “old-school band” feel, so congrats on the Crows for being able to pull it off!
Salivation Army?
Double meaning. Ppl stone you. You can't escape criticism. Ppl need a hobby when all they do is insult other ppl. They need their head checked.

I love OCMS, but enough with the Bob Dylan songs. Dylan is a legend, but when I listen to OCMS i want to here them not Dylan.

OLD CROW COVER BAND OCCB
Old Crow was good. But they've gotten too full of themselves. They really don't understand Dylan songs.
And you understand Bob's songs on some higher plain? Give it a rest.
