I’m guessing that would put prices up… they have a 100 day return policy (I think). I have 6 of their guitars always picked up at the warehouse but never played till I got home because I’d be too embarrassed to play in front of anyone else 😂
I have just ordered one exactly the same, color and everything although I'm in Australia not New Zealand. I' have no experience with any type of musical instrument, but i thought I'd have a go even though I'm 65 years old, hopefully I'm not too old to learn. I've got to do something other than gardening in my retirement from work.
Too old to learn is a self-limiting belief, be open to being successful at something new and you’ll be fine. I wish you the best of luck - the world needs more musicians
What an excellent review, just what I was looking for. A real person, buying, trying and reviewing, with out any bias. I’m looking to provide a cousin with a bass & amp while he visits from the UK. I don’t have a heap of money to spend… spent it all (nearly on my latest Maton), but I do have an artist strat clone, that does the business. Your review has settled the matter for me. I’m ordering a JB style as soon as I’m done here. I like your playing as well. Thank you my friend.
Hey, just wondering how the buy from them went, I've seen a few bad reviews on their website and I'm worried about buying myself a new guitar from a random Cheap website.
@@Yo-pw2ee No issues for this purchase. A second one had a screw missing on the pickup, I was on a deadline (birthday gift) so instead of the replacement screws which would arrive after the birthday, they shipped me a full replacement within days.
I was skeptical and had all the concerns you described. I bought an acoustic pack. Verdict. Totally amazed with the product and service. These are very well made and will exceed your expectations. Thanks Artist guitars.
I’m glad you also had a positive experience. I think Artist Guitars are on to something. I’ve bought other items from them since and continue to recommend.
Got the Artist TC59, and played it for a week straight (I own a PRS 90 C24 Maton, Fernadez Super Strat '87.. TC59 was my first online Guitar. Played just that for a week. Couldn't stop. I too am sick of Midi bass except for adding a fat synth, or on certain occasions only. So this demo review sold me, these things are a bargain!
A friend of mine just got one of these, so I have it here for the week. It's honestly the nicest sounding bass I ha e ever played (I have a fender rumble) The highs are perfect, the mids are perfect, it sounds exactly how I've tried for years to make my basses sound. I'm seriously going to get one of these, and never gonna let it go.
Great experience that mirrored mine. Very first guitar purchase, just over a week ago. Mine is black as lefties can have any colour that is black. Love the sound, the feel and the tuning is solid. Support gave a very prompt response (2 minutes) to a minor issue I had with the tone knob and the advice fixed it. I did not get the amp because I want to get some skills and experience before choosing an amp/speaker setup.
Go the lefties. We are the last overlooked minority! :) You gotta get an amp for an electric guitar dude, skills or no skills you need one - some very affordable options out there.
@@15MinuteGuitar I agree with you about the amp there are some great options out there and I have been studiously compiling a list. I have some solid headphones (HD280 pro) lo listen to my playing with. A good amp/speaker setup means I would feel my playing in my entire body. I have noticed my ear for music, and tone in particular, has changed since I have gone from "listening " to playing. My brain is getting "rewired" and I am hearing things in songs I never paid attention to before. I am also hearing more detail in my own playing. No doubt this will inform my amp purchasing decisions. Thanks once again for your video.
I got the exact same bass but for some reason the strings are very sensitive and basically as soon as I touch them they make noise I'm new to playing bass so idk if it's on me or the guitar 😅
I have serious GAS!!! and Artist don't help with good quality lower priced guitars!!! So on their basses.... have purchased 4..... 1 like yours....was great no complaints.... gave to a friend who was learning. Then 2 x 5 string PJ styles. 2 because the first was unplayable due to electronic probs.... easy return and replaced. Replacement had earth hum....sold it as I was struggling with 5 string - Yep not for everyone. So just got their 4 string PJ version and same earth hum!!! so frustrtaing because the guitar otherwise plays fine. Will need a setup... intonation, neck adjustment (some buzzing).... but that's kinda why I bought it.... learn to do some tech stuff on a cheapr bass. I have original Fender "P" pups that I may put in..... the pups in already sound ok. Summary.... Artist guitars great service and pricing. Some guitars may need returning.... but Artist look after you!!!
You can actually go to the warehouse in Yennora if you live in Sydney Australia and try before you buy . Great value and really solid guitars ..
I didn’t know that Keith, I reckon they’d do well with some pop-up “try-before-you-buy” testing stations for those of us outside SYD.

Happy to hear this. I have the tone on mine all the way down, always for that low growl.
have the same guitar ill say its good but the frets might need to be leveled im not sure if its just mine

This could be a grounding/wiring issue with the bass or the amp. Make a video if the issue and send it to support, ask if this is normal.
@@15MinuteGuitar currently I'm restringing, will do when I'm done tho
Cheers mate. I bought that exact same package. I have an Artist Acoustic and Franken-Strat Copy so I took the punt. Nice to see your review though.
Nice bro, glad you also had a positive experience.
Squire ( Fender) and Ibenez sell similar packs for about 400 USD here in the states also with a 15w amp which most adults hate but it's fine for kids

Thanks George, I’ve been crazy busy with actual gigs and rehearsals. Might post a vlog to show you what I’ve been up to.

oh sorru bro newzealand
My top E string is twangy and even after taking to the shop for a bit of alignment it can only handle when i lightly play it.
You could return if its within 100 days of purchase.
aussie

Looks like you had fun.
Definitely Vic. Fun before learning always. Even better is fun during learning.

Well I guess the first step is admitting you have a problem :)
Pulling those bakes correctly
Huh? Not sure what that means.
@@15MinuteGuitar oh sorry bit UK slang, I mean faces. Great guitar faces :)
Novotny I’m from the UK, I’ve never heard that one. Maybe slang from up north?
@@15MinuteGuitar yeah might be more northern irish then.
Flee would approve lol. Nice work bro
Lol, ah Mike it was pretty terrible but thank you. :) Interesting to be a learner again.
@@15MinuteGuitar man I have zero bass skills. Got friends that can lol. Not a bad deal on your setup .
I just bought the MiniP 3/4 short scale 3 weeks ago. Now I'm buying the JB2
Nice, I don’t think you can go wrong with these guys for affordability and value
Hey, I know it's a year later, but I'm thinking of getting one of their 3/4 basses. How has it been for you?
@Pushing_Pixels bloody awesome mate. No regrets at all considering the price
