Shane, I love these videos on these Artist's guitars. Can't wait to hear Ben play that Tele in the background, I've checked out Artist website, I just don't know how they build guitars with some of the hardware they use for that price.
Great demo. These are such awesome little guitars. I pre-ordered it and the yellow Artist double-cut when they were first released. It's quite a bit heavier than the set neck. But a killer guitar. I can totally recommend it as a brilliant first guitar. And I would actually jam and gig with this guitar if that was still a thing for me these days. 😂 It's definitely going to make its way onto some recordings.
To tell the truth, I never really bonded with mine. I think mainly because the necks a bit chunky and also its screwed on. I did a pre-order for it when they first came out (as it was going to be a glued in neck like the DC version), then it changed to a screw on. Still sounds pretty good for what it is and can't complain about the price. But it's not one I gravitate too unfortunately.
Just about any guitar can be good with a little work. Unless there’s a major issue like bridge placement that causes intonation issues, some minor fret work, setup and maybe better tuners is all most guitars need.
Sounded great in that Jr. vein! Great playing, as always by Benno! HOWEVER... For what it is supposed to represent, I find the bolt on neck a bit disappointing!
@@markelliott5151 LOL, no! Scarf jointed necks are STRONGER than 1 piecers! I said that because Artist have a DC model for the SAME price & it is a SET neck! The prev SC Jr. models also were set neck!
Looked and sounded great! I’d pick this up if I saw it in my local shop. 👍 My LP Jr doesn’t sound anywhere as good… that because it’s stuck with me hammering on about learning to play. I feel sorry for my guitars. 😂
I've brought far to much gear in the last 6 month....dam it now I want one of these, considering the epiphone's version is $800 and I hate to know the Gibson price, this is most definitely a great alternative 👍

@@lincolnjohnson6511 Ok, well, it IS a 1 pick up guitar, but many do not see its versatility! IF you play around with picking technique, position and play with the vol/tone pots, which are interactive, you CAN get a range of sounds out of it, including a fair NECK pick up sound! My boss said the same thing to me:'No1 wants a 1 pick up guitar!' LOL! Yes they do. It's the simplicity! I hope that helps! Go PLAY 1 & the penny might just DROP for you! Cheers & rock on!
"ARTIST" 😂 An guitar that cost like an pizza and a couple of beers, maybe should ease down a bit? But impressive that they got an Wilkingson tunomatic and mahogany wood. The mike sounded quite ok (how about noise n squeal on higher volyme?) Thanx for the video Shane, you rule🤘 And thanx Ben.

This was a really fun guitar to demo, thanks for having me, Shane!
Great stuff, Ben! Always good fun! :)
nice playing fella
@@TheMichaelseymour thanks, mate! I appreciate those kind words.
If these were in the US, I would totally check them out. The fact that they are also like $.25 US is a steal.
They ARE! (As far as I know!)

China!
BUT they found a maker that does it RIGHT, so less mistakes in quality 1st time round, means LESS labour, which means lower per unit cost!
Great sounding guitar gentleman ! Thanks for the demo !
Go Joe !!! Fabulous 😮. Instantly recognised the rhythm, simply loved your effortless lead. More please. 😅
Like the look of that guitar. Will have to check out Artist if I ever return to Australia.
Have this guitar and love it. Mine is a tad heavier than most but I picked it up in store for its great looking piece of wood. 👍🇦🇺

Exceptional value

Just gave mine to my adult nephew as wants to learn to play. Such a great guitar. Guess I’ll be buying another, lol
Introducing the Artist Les Paulternative Jr.
Fabulous playing Ben.❤

Very good video of a nice LP-type guitar (with P90) at an extra reasonable price. Greetings. Pavel CZ.👍👍👍
Thank guys😊
Sounded great in that Jr. vein!
Great playing, as always by Benno!
HOWEVER...
For what it is supposed to represent, I find the bolt on neck a bit disappointing!
I also see that the scarf-joint done at 3 fret area…fragile right?
Is that why it’s a “bolt on neck”…quick replaceable?

Page not found on your link, but nice rundown Shane. Thank you!
And thank you for the tasty playing Ben!
Weird, I will update it now, thanks for the heads up!
Harley Benton has them in left handed glued in neck I got the sg in blue
Killer tones! Wish it was in yellow!
At that price, you could totally justify a paint job.
That would be cool.

Great video!
Very cool guitars, but appears none of their Gibson like models are not available in the US. Bummer
These instruments are fantastic , for $250 who wouldn't want one?
For what it is supposed to represent, I find the bolt on neck a bit disappointing!
I'm personally more of an Ibanez RG fan.
How do I get this in the US?!?! I need one!
That neck really, really looks like flamed maple, not mahogany. The website also says mahogany. I doubt it.
First link to the guitar dont work Shane.
rock and roll machine!
A bolt-on neck on a les paul JR type guitar ?
Most of the 70s Japanese Ibanez Les Pauls are bolt ons.
@@joesantamaria5874 Most Gibsons and Epiphone are glued.
Please I want this in the US.
Keep an eye on their US site - they have some guitars on there already, but not this new one yet.
Is there ANYWAY to get one sent to the U.S.?

Not good looking but good sounding. 🎸😅
Sure, just ignore US, see if we cry, yes, we do....
Too bad you can't buy these Artists from Europe !
That broke my mind for a minute... your voice with a right handed guitar was downright disorienting.
mate, how do you think I felt 🤣 I felt so uncoordinated haha
Crappy tone, bolt on neck. Sorry, not worth $249!
Tone is subjective, but yes, the bolt-on neck is disappointing.
