    www.atsdiesel.com/ats-gm-gove...
This is a precision cast aluminum pressure manifold block that completely replaces the original part. Dodge uses a very cheep, problematic solenoid that is modulated to emulate governor pressure. This assembly removes the small stock solenoid and cast housing and replaces it with an over sized GM Heavy duty solenoid that has 6 times the force to accurately control the metering valve that creates governor pressure.
Governor pressure is responsible for making the transmission to up shift, down shift and part throttle shifts. Common causes of a failing factory governor pressure solenoid are no up shifts, late up shifts, sticking in a gear, erratic shifting when cold and poor shift performance. In many cases a check engine light will come on indicating there is a transmission problem, often being caused be a failing governor pressure solenoid.
This part can easily be changed by simply dropping the pan, removing the filter, removing 6 bolts and installing the new aluminum solenoid block and HD solenoid.
    Features:
    · Bolt-In Installation
    · Handles Higher Pressure
    · Prevents Over Pressure Codes
    · Connector Type: 4-Pin Rectangular Connector

In 2019 I put one of these units in my 47re (96 Dodge Ram w/6BT) and realized much better performance. In 2023 the 2nd gear band started to slip and ended up to need replacement. The transmission shop I use of course suggested a full rebuild which I went along with, new upgraded everything to a 2 stage transmission(w/ a 2 year/24 month warranty). While in there the shop owner also said they did not like the ATS GM Governor Pressure Solenoid Block Conversion Kit I had installed and replaced it with the Borg Warner upgraded Governor Pressure Solenoid set up. Since then (a year ago) I have experienced 1-2 and 2-3 shuttle shift issues like I had with the previous setup prior to the ATS GM Governor Pressure Solenoid Block Conversion Kit. Getting ready to take the truck back to the transmission shop and see what I can get them to do to address the situation.

Its been a journey with your 47RE transmission! The shuttle shift issues you’re experiencing can be quite frustrating, especially after investing in upgrades and a full rebuild.

Here are a few potential causes and solutions for the shuttle shift issues: When I take the truck back to the transmission shop, I will discuss these potential issues with them. They should perform specific tests and adjustments to pinpoint the exact cause of the shuttle shifting.

Governor Pressure Solenoid: The Borg Warner solenoid is generally reliable, but some users have reported issues similar to mine. Is it worth discussing with my transmission shop whether reverting back to the ATS GM Governor Pressure Solenoid Block Conversion Kit or trying another high-quality solenoid could help.
Valve Body Issues: Could it be the new valve body can cause shuttle shifting if the spool valves are not moving freely or if there is dirt or debris. I know ensuring the valve body is clean and functioning correctly.
Band Adjustment: It could be an incorrect band adjustment leading to shifting problems. Double-checking the band adjustments might resolve the issue.
Hydraulic Pressure: Incorrect hydraulic pressure can also cause shuttle shifting. A pressure test can help identify if this is the problem.
Electrical Connections: Faulty or loose electrical connections to the solenoids and sensors can cause erratic shifting. Ensuring all connections are secure and functioning properly is essential.

the 2004 has the same issue my 48re in my 2004 has the same solenoid and transducer and they are junk I went with borg warner upgraded solenoid because the GM conversion solenoid is not good for the trans unless its properly built for it

At the beggining of the video you say its an upgrade for a 1997-2003 but at the end you say it's for a 2003-2007? Which is it? I am trying to upgrade my 48re from a 2002.5 2nd gen 5.9. Also does this part come with the new sensors or are they separate? Thanks in adv -Jack B.

1998 12 valve 47re with fresh billet build. Before build it used to shift into 2nd at low rpms and low speed (maybe 8 mph). Now after the billet internals it almost seems to shift into 2nd twice. Once around 10 mph and again around 20-25 depending on how hard I'm on the throttle. My first thought was the governor solenoid. Any advice? Thank you in advance!

Would that solve my overdrive to 3 gear shuttle shift on 03 dodge 5.9 cummins with 48 re trans. At 60 to 70 mph it will down shift to 3rd gear and rpm spike from 1800 to 2500.. And it doesn’t do it all the time for about a year now.

I’ve seen people not change it out put it all back together still had the same problem and wants to blame it on ATS I just replace it while you’re there it’s what I did fixed everything I’m not doing shit twice And it’s cheap
