- This definitely NOT what it said on the tin. A frustrating day of mis-information and the trusted internet. A set my morning on visiting a cafe I had previously researched - to find when I arrived it was closed. Being a part-time RUclips vlogger it doesnt help when I plan venues - however, I found another place. I just need to say, there are sausages and there are sausages. Also, this is NOT a full English breakfast - I never have them.
I asked if they were PROPER sausages and she said yes. 🤷♂️

Well done for helping the person who had broken down. Hope he got to his destination safely. These cafe's need to get the information on their tins right as I can feel your disappointment and frustration when it doesn't work out as you planned, but never fear DJ, we will still be here watching you regardless as your content is excellent.

Some people are wary of scams involving strangers asking for you to ring a number which turns out to be a premium rate one thats what maybe the reason the guy got ignored.
Or rob your phone when you pull it out of your pocket.

Love seeing the videos in Islington, Hackney and Stoke Newington. I've told you before mate that my grandparents moved from Wales to London after the war. My dad was born in Hackney then they moved back to Wales when he was 2. Always tell a cheap sausage when it has cigar ends 🤣🤣👊👊

Looks nice, eggs look nicely done. Shame about the sausages. I have the opposite problem, two cafes near me have nice sausages but even though I ask for the eggs to be runny, a lot of time they over cook them. Last week I lost my patience and complained about one of the eggs which was like a boiled egg. Hopefully after having to replace it, they might get the message.

Kudos to you. It costs nothing but a few seconds to listen to what someone has to say. Sadly, there are a lot of chancers out there, but you can generally weed out the genuine and, of course, we should always help when we can!

Fried bread looked okay but not the sausage. So much of London we have yet to see Dj x.

I went to cafe fabrizi today, it was open! had coffee and the second I tasted it, knew the food would be good :o) (sausages were very decent, definitely not catering style) you would like it Darren!
There is a phone scam where you are conned into calling a premium rate number.Maybe that's why people wouldn't help him out.

Man after my own heart, I'll help anyone if I possibly can, even paying for the shortage of a bill in the shops or supermarkets which I have done on more than one occasion. That's the second time unlucky now DJ with the eatery info, to be fair the waiter in the cafe wouldn't have known what you meant by "PROPER SAUSAGES", they've only probably had the pleasure of the catering version. Third time lucky fingers crossed. 🤞

I dunno, I love a decent quality snag but with a fried breakfast I feel a snout and sweepings mystery bag often does the job lovely. Those eggs looked on point.

All butchers sausages are different. you put crap ingredients in you get crap
sausages. just by saying butchers doesn't make them any better. I've had
decent factory produced sausages.
@@williebobs3830 never had a bad butchers sausage in my life you must be using dodgy butchers 😜🤣. All butchers use superior ingredients why would they not they have a reputation to keep especially in these hard economic times obviously you’ll get an occasional one that might not be great but nothing is 100% brilliant everywhere but in general they’ll be better than a catering one. Agree you get some good factory made sausages especially ones for M&S , Sainsbury’s etc but most cafes will use the cheaper ones in general 👍🏻

@@cuemaster1475 I can see your point thankfully we don’t have those type of sausages on fry up’s here in Scotland we use Steak slice or Lorne sausage on ours which is much better & tastier 👍🏻
When my brother and dad were around I’m the late 90s we
Used to go to the chapel street market. Always vibrant then. And have fish and chips in a nice fish bar there. Your nice video brought back happy memories the world had changed a lot since then. Always a pleasure watching you and your son cheers Darren

I went to the coronation cafe just by Glasgow cross on Sunday whilst I was waiting on my bike getting fixed at the saltmarket. I ordered a fried breakfast consisting of Black pudding, beans, a large unbattered chip shop style pork sausage, fried egg, potato scone, hash brown & bacon. I had a plate of chips on the side too & a pot of tea. I had Gold star brown chip shop sauce on the fry up and on the large plate of chips I had gold star tomato chip shop sauce with salt & vinegar. I had an ice cold can of iron brew to finish .
To be fair, I am not sure how I would have answered the question « are they proper sausages ». Maybe ask to see them before ordering. Better luck next time. Hang in there.

Looks like those sausages were deep fried to which I’m not keen on myself. Would of still nailed it all tho as I was brought up to clear my plate lol.

Me too, unless I’m using a knife and fork. Then I use my left hand for the fork, I don’t think I would be able to cut the food up properly with the knife in my left hand. Each to there own I guess 😊.

Got to have a builders with a cooked breakfast. Not sure about those snags but impressed how many greasy spoons in the big smoke do fried bread & bubble - wish we got more of that up North.
To be fair to the waitress, I'm not sure she understood what you were asking about with the sausages & it would take a brave one to admit they were rubbish (actually I think most non-Brits think all UK sausages are rubbish, not having had the chance to try the good stuff)

Hi Darren you need to take a trip to a little hem I found on an industrial estate in Colchester it’s called the Eat in Diner, proper butcher’s sausages,free range eggs, amazing fried bread, all quality produce, I had there big breakfast with a cup of Rosie Lee for £10.86!!!!!! Amazing value for money and in my opinion off the charts, give daisy duke a run out I’m sure you both will enjoy it, all the best Ian

You have to go to the breakout cafe 2 minutes away to get that breakfast you want,the rest of the cafes in the area are 2 bob,i was born there in the early 60s
