The way he switched between the personalities when necessary was amazing. He is completely amazing.
There was a particular moment where he changed from one to the other with no cuts and with no dialogue, and you could just tell. It was an incredibly impressive performance all around.

McAvoy deserves an Oscar for his portrayal of Kevin Wendell Crumb's various personalities in Split! This movie is remarkable in it's concept and delivery. I don't see why people need to have it explained, because if you pay attention, it all comes together. I've never seen Unbreakable, nor M. Knight's other productions, but I'm certainly interested if he is making a trilogy. I'm now a huge fan of Mr. McAvoy! He pulls off the truest American accents incredibly. I never knew he was Scottish until I watched an interview!
The creepy way that he transitioned from one identity to another was so seamless and scary I had to watch it 4 times until I completely watched the whole movie

If he wanted to talk to someone with DID and who is very open about it, he should have spoken to Jess and her Alters from MultiplicityandMe. I think they would have had a very interesting conversation.

Him not getting atleast an Oscar nomination for it was nonsense. I'm not just saying cause "oh it's so difficult to pull it off, it's so cool blah blah". Dude literally took on one of the most difficult acting jobs in history, not only did the risk pay off, he even gave the performance of the lifetime. I was expecting to see some of the persons acted in a cringe fashion, but I was blown away every single time. The subtle changes from persona to persona were mesmerizing. He was simply incredible in this.
I’m glad he cares more about representation than the creators ever did. I hope they do come out with movie with system superheroes, comedies, romance, etc and we would be happy to see him play some more roles as alters.
It is so important to make people understand that DID or any other mental disorder doesn’t make you a monster or dangerous. Can’t wait for some good representation!

I totally agree I remember a friend recommending the movie filth to me I couldn't believe it was the same guy from the movie Wanted hell of a performance. You'll enjoy Split as well the man is destined to get an Academy award.

Hipotenuza Bruce Robertson is an amazing character in Filth. It's probably James McAvoy's best performance to date in my humble opinion. The writer did an exceptional job and James McAvoy was brilliant in bringing the character to life.

After I watched Split, I immediately came to RUclips to look for an interview because I needed to see HOWWWW James played these parts so well!! & I had no idea he had this accent wow 😍 but I was really impressed by how well he acted in this movie. I was absolutely blown away. I've seen the movie 5 times & each time I watch, I notice new details & understand the characters a bit more. Absolutely brilliant.
