James’ performance was so damn good, that as I watched the movie, I could tell what personality he was playing just by looking at his face, without him even saying a word. I’ve never seem anything like it. Simply impeccable.
I remember seeing this movie with my family shortly after it came out. A random Wednesday night, we were the only ones in the theater, about 6 of us. We were all floored. One of the most compelling performances of recent memory. Bravo, James McAvoy.
James McAvoy is such an underrated actor, he plays really amazing characters. Plus, he can play 23 different identities, which is literal talent in itself. Its amazing and just like Leonardo Dicaprio, he deserves an oscar!
The way he plays Dennis is CHILLING He’s a dark man who so desperately wants to try and do good by Kevin all the while struggling against his nature. The fact that Kevin portrays that perfectly with his tense way of moving and talking and facial expressions is AMAZING My favorite scene is when they’re trying to escape and push past Hedwig, who struggles physically to hold them back. Once Dennis takes over, he easily overpowers them as he’s a grown man.
Do good by Kevin? Why? He didn’t seem to try that desperately overall through most Also it feels as though the description of his personality is inconsistent
The way he changes his face to truly LOOK like the different personalities is astounding. There are folks who can sound like different people, but to change to such a degree that you are visibly a different person? Absolutely breath taking. Bravo James. Bravo.
*Bruce Banner* : I share my body with Hulk who had been in control for two years . *Kevin who shares with 23 dudes and a dudette and was out for five years* : That's rough buddy
Dude, it is so creepy how well he does so many different personalities. I agree that he deserves an absolutel Oscar for this performance! Truly just absolute brilliance.
How James McAvoy didn't earn an Oscar for this, amazes me.. One actor playing one particular character goes through trouble, and yet James doesn't get acknowledged for 8 personalities..
The moment he finally controls his personality disorder is equivalent to a psychologists “break through” with patients who have PTSD. It’s much harder as illustrated, but even severe cases of dissociative disorder can be managed with treatment. Fascinating movie.
Plus: Mr. Pritchard, Heinrich, Bernice, Rakel, Jalin, Kat, Luke, Polly, Ansel, Samuel, Norma, Goddard, Felida, B.T, Mary Reynolds, Ian, and of course, the Beast.
His ability to switch voices, mannerisms, and accents so effortlessly is next level acting ability. Samuel L. Jackson said the same thing about him in “Glass”.
The fact that Kevin asked Casey to use the shotgun to kill him is heart wrenching. His death in Glass was what he wanted but not how I would’ve expected. Still loved the Unbreakable Trilogy
skinny legend No in his mind he thought he was a beast. If you genuinely believe something long enough then you’ll eventually start acting like it. It was just an extra personality.

the kacama74 oh yeah, if some of them are co conscious then they would know. But some systems don’t communicate with the host which then the host knows nothing, which is sooooo scary for that host
But it's sad that DID isn't portraited like it really is. Yeah, a movie like Split is more entertaining than the reality, but it does but a lot of stigma on a very real disorder that people suffer from
just watched an interview of eve a multi personality right after this... whoooo.... goosebumps
i have blue socks too I DIED AT THAT PART NSMSMSKKS
"You might be pregnant now." 😂😂😂

Split is so scary, but such an amazing film, especially with this actor.
I love Patricia so much, and the way James plays her is just perf. What an actor
It’s got paprika in it. 😂
Perf 😂
So, James McAvoy is a dude, playing a dude, playing 23 dudes...
And dudettes
One of the 23 dudes is also pretending to be one of the other 23 dudes XD
they aint all dudes lmao
Disguised as another dude
Sad all these replies didn't get the reference to the dude playing the dude playing another dude. Guess they're all just dudes who don't know what dude they is
“My names hedwi-“
*harry potter mode activated*
G i s e l l e playz I mean I haven't seen the movie but Hedwig is nine so maybe he likes Harry Potter? And that's why he's called Hedwig?
Lol
lmao I was hearing Hedwig the whole time but thought it was just the Harry Potter fangirl in me mistaking Henry for Hedwig XD
@@shadowmare9620 Hedwig was the name of Harry Potter's pet owl
@@Toy_In_Tub i know, i was referring to the alter hedwig :)
basically, this whole video's point is to show james mcavoy's acting talent and how amazing he is at what he does.
and also, hedwig is 100% my spirit animal.
"what, are you blind?"
I feel like we all emotionally have red socks
The line really got me too
what are you, blind?

4:24 he sits up when he says "9" thats exactly what a kid would do when proud
"I'm this many 👌🖐️🖕"
That's a merit of the Director, not the actor
wish I could see all 23 of them. love this movie 🙌

I love how confused he looks when the doctor doesn’t buy that it’s Barry. It’s very childish and narcissistic. He couldn’t believe she didn’t buy it.
everybody gangsta until the quiet kid said that he have 23 siblings, and the 23th is coming

James McAvoy is such an underrated actor, he plays really amazing characters. Plus, he can play 23 different identities, which is literal talent in itself. Its amazing and just like Leonardo Dicaprio, he deserves an oscar!
Tf is wrong with jeff bezos
Uhmmm
money got to his head, smh
Hands down the funniest comment here
xD
Lmao
The way he plays Dennis is CHILLING
He’s a dark man who so desperately wants to try and do good by Kevin all the while struggling against his nature. The fact that Kevin portrays that perfectly with his tense way of moving and talking and facial expressions is AMAZING
My favorite scene is when they’re trying to escape and push past Hedwig, who struggles physically to hold them back. Once Dennis takes over, he easily overpowers them as he’s a grown man.
Dark man?
I’m not sure people have nature
Do good by Kevin? Why?
He didn’t seem to try that desperately overall through most
Also it feels as though the description of his personality is inconsistent
A cold grown man who is a clean freak and a perv but honestly I'd live up to it if it meant being food for the beast-
Okay ill stop being crazy
James playing Patricia is such a realistic way to portray someone like that, it’s so perfect
The way he changes his face to truly LOOK like the different personalities is astounding. There are folks who can sound like different people, but to change to such a degree that you are visibly a different person? Absolutely breath taking. Bravo James. Bravo.
Hedwig is boss and have great dance moves ;)
Ms Patricia lowkey triggers my asmr
Serena Varischetti omg yes!!!
High key. Someone should make a Ms. Patricia brushes your hair ASMR
Low key high key middle key static key key key

Damn James is just such an amazing actor!
*Bruce Banner* : I share my body with Hulk who had been in control for two years .
*Kevin who shares with 23 dudes and a dudette and was out for five years* : That's rough buddy
Kevin doesn’t have to worry about killing thousands and destroying a whole city tho, so it’s all relative
Kevin: "I don't remember anything..." Also Kevin: "There's a shotgun I bought in the bottom cabinet..."
“Before the bus”
hedwig must be protected at all costs. i want to hug him *so much*
FR
"How old are you?"
" *9* "
PLS I CRACKED UP SO BAD 😭😭👆
The way he straightened up like he was proud of being 9 was hilarious.
"Yeah I'm younger than everyone in this body etcetera! Heh" type of attitude i was getting
The fact that he's playing one personality pretending to be another personality is insane! He's really good!
The acting James McAvoy does in this movie and X-men: First Class are absolutely unrivaled, definitely an underrated actor.
Y’all he got red socks
He’s got blue ones too
Yeah don’t forget the blue ones
Boy ain’t no way boy
Kevin : *Is it still September 18th 2014, right?*
Anyone living in 2020: *I wish*-.😂😂
Ms Patricia's lil shrug after saying "paprika" is legendary! I keep going back to that part..
The beast.....scared the paprika out of me when I watched this for the first time😭
"scared the paprika out of me" bro im dead... etcetera
How was james overlooked for literally any awards is another wonder of the world
He does the impression of age and personality so well 🥺 especially with Hedwig 🌸
The moment he finally controls his personality disorder is equivalent to a psychologists “break through” with patients who have PTSD. It’s much harder as illustrated, but even severe cases of dissociative disorder can be managed with treatment. Fascinating movie.
James did an amazing job with this one!
“It’s good, it’s got paprika in it” badass actor!
I haven’t watched it so there’s:
- Kevin
- Barry
- Dennis
- Ms Patricia
- Hedwig
- Orwell
- Jade
Plus 16 other personalities (17 if you count the beast)
Plus: Mr. Pritchard, Heinrich, Bernice, Rakel, Jalin, Kat, Luke, Polly, Ansel, Samuel, Norma, Goddard, Felida, B.T, Mary Reynolds, Ian, and of course, the Beast.
Dont forget beast
His ability to switch voices, mannerisms, and accents so effortlessly is next level acting ability. Samuel L. Jackson said the same thing about him in “Glass”.
*James McAvoy Is A Pure Genius, He Played These Personalities With Such Finesse Oh God, Hats Off 🙏🏻👏🏻!*
The fact that Kevin asked Casey to use the shotgun to kill him is heart wrenching. His death in Glass was what he wanted but not how I would’ve expected. Still loved the Unbreakable Trilogy
Kevin's 23 other personalitys: You got the whole squad laughing
I just imagine how hard it is to be a guy playing the role of 24 different
... I don't even have the word to say.
James Mcavoy deserves the credit.
Thank you Hedwig, very cool 3:28
The fact that James McAvoy is acting as Dennis acting as Barry is mindblowing
I absolutely loved this movie, until it went supernatural... It was brilliant though
same
Not super natural, his mind made an extra personality
It didnt go supernatural though.Feel like the whole idea of the movie flew over your head.
@@Blannkss the beast was supernatural tho he was literally climbing the room
skinny legend No in his mind he thought he was a beast. If you genuinely believe something long enough then you’ll eventually start acting like it. It was just an extra personality.
The first one was Dennis too.
“It’s got paprika in it 😏” HAHAHHA
I swear this movie is forever a certified classic James McAvoy is a legend he played the beast and the role perfectly
What everyone is forgetting is that he's Dr.Xavier.
i *DID* not forget
That’s Professor Xavier to you.
