I changed out the fluorescent bulbs in my garage light to an LED replacement. You remove the ballast and it's an easy switch over to the LED tube.

My fixtures are ancient, so I replace the entire lighting this weekend.

how does this differ from the Baofeng? and the audio from your older 101 videos sounded fine to me. this video is more high pitch tone sorta sound. peace

Just the branding. It does seem to pick up less noise than the UV5R so maybe there were some upgrades to the circuits.

Thanks for the video Buddy. I also have an IFR 1200, the S, not the super S and was wondering if it can detect CTCSS tones on a handheld. I don't think so, have checked the manual for this. Have a good day.

by the way, love how most of us are trying to troubleshoot the spurious noise with ya ...maybe try turning all the lights off, one by one...or try ferrite beads on the mic line in.. I'm sure you know all that... anyhow, compared to some of the other videos, I actually prefer the audio on this one.. seems like the right amount of punch

To me it also sounds like crickets from the outside. But yes the lights can be a problem. Those types of lights that you have can be converted to led quite easily.

I spent the week end replacing them all with LED lighting. And while listening to the audio it is very tinny sounding,

Nice to see you will now be able to talk to construction sites on your ham bands, you might be able to get some lumber supplies.

LOL, Sad but you are correct. Even the big three lets this happen. Miss Radio shack. Un-modded rigs then.

What would have Been great as part of the review is sticking them on the spectrum analyser and measuring the spurious signal output to make sure they are compliant

Just google "Baofeng UV5R Spectral Purity Test" It has been done multiple times.

That's some really "tinny" sounding audio. Quite unnatural sound. It almost "rings" on the high frequencies. Almost sounds like some phase shifting going on also.
Might be interesting to sweep an audio input to the mic via a good speaker and see what's happening with it.
