@@lilcritic3260 Alright, ending spoilers: All of Alex's party die to the final boss (which is of course a big evil alternate Alex). He then literally pulls the plug on reality to defeat the final boss, ceasing everything's existence forever. Nothing matters. The original ending was going to be a happy one, but after losing his mother the dev went "fuck everything" and decided to make it bleak as fuck. While the original ending still had that Yiik wordiness, it was an actual payoff. Also, because of the ending change, a ton of what Essentia is telling Alex in this part of the game is a lie (rather than her telling the truth and genuinely being on the side of good).
I can't believe we're still getting videos with Ding Dong & Julian 3 months on. I genuinely thought they'd only be back for maybe a handful of videos like Ding Dong's previous visits. I dread the day Tomar finally regains his full power and banishes them back to the void.
Alex: how can I destroy reality? What power do I have that can do that? Robot: inaction is the same as action. Neutrality is the same as picking a side. What the fuck kind of answer is that? Did the creator hit his head when writing this scene?
It means him not doing anything can destroy it. Is that really hard to understand? It’s like watching some poor lad get slugged by a jerk and you just standing there watching him take it and not doing anything. Silence is violence
It's supposed to mean all of us have the potential to destroy simply by not doing anything. Not Alex specifically. It's still a really weird and dumb thing to write. Alex's arc has never been that there is a bunch of stuff going on, but he won't get involved. He's actively involved in a bunch things that have almost nothing to do with him. He isn't neutral about anything they've introduced in this game. This only way this kind of works is if at the end of the game, Alex realizes he needs to get involved in 2000 politics and get Al Gore elected. Which is the most bizarre "message" a game could have because no one has a time machine. It's just really really bad writing.
@@buhgingo2933 How could silence be violence if he himself has no say or possibility of knowing what the violence is or how to stop said violence. 6:55 I'm not one to defend this game, but it just looks like the rib cage is at a very similar angle to the arm, despite her tum-tum being more vertical right up until then. Along with the detail of her outline being a similar color to the dark green, so it looks like her torso extends further back behind her arm It's more convincing without the close-up for sure, so I get why it looked that way. I always think of these things when I draw or look at other drawings. The idea of having details that, while fine on their own, end up creating an illusion of sorts that wasn't intended. The faces you see on cars is a good example in the sense that each part wasn't put there to intentionally make a face, rather they happened to match up like that. It can be easy to miss for sure, but it's like when you accidentally draw a shlong just because that's how everything *_lined_* up. :3 Seriously, though, my art classes never mentioned such a thing (not referring to shlongs), because there are times when you have to slightly alter something, because the added lines from their hair make it look like they have a droopy eye, as an example. I'm not saying this because they need to know or whatever, I just find the idea of accidental illusions (that word might be over-selling it, but you get my point) interesting and that it's something that any artist should look out for, since it makes you feel mighty dumb when you finally do.
I'm unironiclly endeared to the story and even Alex at this point. Certainly the writing could've been better polished to say the least, but I really like the weirdness of it all. It puts forth some interesting ideas with the whole parallel selves concept and etc, but unfortunately in a rather clumsy manner. vibratingwithmotion/10 looking forward to more!

im in a similar boat; im trying to give it the benefit of the doubt and read into the story to see what the author could be alluding to, but every 5 minutes my eyes glaze over. these kind of games benefit from having multiple endings or hidden themes. if this was as post-modern as it claimed to be, i'd love to see a situational ending for having enough money in your pocket/helping mom. economy is booming in 1999, but your mom missed out on investing because she sent her kids to college. now she's out of a job and needs you to come up with $20k. dont make it obvious, but let it be a bonus if you manage to do it. i dont know much about this game, but there are at least a lot of lessons to be learned from its failures. i dont even mind the main character being a pretentious asshole; the player doesnt need it to be a self-insert. laugh at the man-baby. there are so many things that are close to being good, but the core elements of gameplay are too rough.
@@kenwynnelson6340 there's an alternate ending where Alex finds Sammy and gets a job. It's considered a bad ending by most people because chasing Sammy is a bad thing in the first place.
@@amuro9624 wasn't that ending like a weird developer thing and non-canon? Many characters in the building refer to themselves as cut content, Rory's ghost is there, and the Sammy that appears in that ending is also a strange ethereal glowing being that refers to Alex by the player's name, not his. The guy who mistakes Alex for the intern also uses your entered player name and not Alex's. Alex doesn't speak at all during it either. I can't really take it seriously as a legitimate ending.

Ok so that 20 minute essay on the most basic moral shit ever can be summed up as "People feel guilty for being responsible for a problem, even if not directly, and we often argue defensively on our behalf in order to maintain our good appearance and approval." This game tries so hard to be deeply philosophical, but comes off with a narrative more shallow than a puddle.
@@amuro9624 Lisa: The Painful is a good example, it basically teaches you the significance of "the ends don't justify the means." Taking your 'friends' with you to the soul space to avoid the potential destruction of the universe, and knowing this because you have glimpsed into other parallel universes. That sounds like a story a cult leader would tell just before handing out the death tablets.
i'm not sure if it's intentional, maybe it is, but i find it weird that essentia is the only woman in the game who has a 3d model that isn't horribly ugly. maybe it's supposed to be about how she's the woman alex loves the most and thinks is the most pretty.

Jesus is gonna come back before they finish this game
I asked my dad what he would do if he had a Tiny Hitler, and he said he’d put him in his pants and fart, “gassing” him.
Yay for Jesus
I liked it, and I'm NOT a hooligan
@GigiGiga ugh
Hope so
I'm not sure which is worse, ending all fights instantly or one fight lasting 1 hour
I prefer the shorter fights. A YIIK fight lasting for an entire episode isn't very fun.
If that one hour fight felt meaningful and engaging, maybe I'd pick the first one but this is YIIK, so I'd say long fights are worse because it's boring and it holds you back from getting to LOL at Alex YIIK being a massive freaking nerd.
Yes
Meh, in both case you get faced with a slog, whether it's a fight or the story the game still draws out in length.
At least the shorter fights mean you have to spend less time suffering those animations.
Objectively the latter, nobody is playing this for its robust and dynamic battle system.
this will be lauded as one of oneyplays bestest series you just watch.
also, i'd really enjoy it if detroit: become human came back - really liked chris' approach
Alex power of destruction is that his pretentiousness is just that massive
Alex could’ve avoided all of this if he just went grocery shopping…
I really hope dingdong makes chris sit through all of the endings
That'd be cool, since the KNN ending is actually pretty cool
there’s multiple endings???
Every time I see a new Yiik update, I scream “YIIK, AHHHH” at the top of my lungs. Nobody questions it anymore
at a certain point in the game, the strength stat breaks, it's unclear if this is actually intended or not
so it isnt
This series is turning out to be one of my favourites on the channel. Great work guys!
he was rory in a alternate universe
Instead of “No one cares about your dead sister” it would become “Everyone cares about your dead sister”.
In an alternate universe rory tries to kiss himself but his leg mom hops in and catches him in the act
@@darksamich1173 i HATE how reading that just conjured an image of it in my head ... FUCK
i can not fucking believe it has taken this long for the story to finally present to you the reason for the journey in the first fucking place
I feel like the life bar thing was probably unintentional but was left in because it was neat.
Alex really doesn't strike me as a person who would ever amount to anything ...let alone a reality bending, multiverse-ending being
small part that is often overlooked is how 2000 is manipulating you to make her choices. contant moments of "stop asking questions" and "don't open that door" gives it away
I love their immediate interpretations of the character sprites
"Hmm... I'm dying"
This game just comes in one ear and comes out the other with the stupid exposition dialogue
I needed my daily dose of YIIK, thank you for spreading the joy Chris.

Is Yuzu a girl's name?

(end of game spoilers)
they're gonna be so mad when they get to the end of the game and find out that none the story mattered at all. i can't wait
What is it all like a dream or some shit?
The original ending was so much better. I get that the dev's grief affected him, but it would have been better to keep an optimistic ending rather than a "nothing mattered at all" ending that just leaves you pissed off.
@@lilcritic3260 Alright, ending spoilers:
All of Alex's party die to the final boss (which is of course a big evil alternate Alex).
At this point the episodes are just the fellas letting the game talk for itself and allowing us to experience the same pain they went through.
Chris is like the Yiik KING of jello at this moment. he is seriously jelking rn
@@buhgingo2933 Nah, you're a fascist. You want control over people's agency.
@@shorewall what
It's supposed to mean all of us have the potential to destroy simply by not doing anything.
It's dumb because even RoboVella doesn't know what's actually going to happen, so why would "Alek's inaction" be the same as watching some guy get his ass kicked?
I wish these episodes were a bit longer considering how plot heavy they are.
ermmm dialogue heavy... wouldnt actually call it plot
@@RagbagMcShag You right. Plot? More like PLOP... OF SHIET!! DIS GAYME IS ANAL SAUCE!!!
"What powers do I have that could lead to this type of devastation!?" Remember that penny you decided against picking up 5 years ago? Had you picked it up the butterfly effect would have staved off the apocalypse. This is all on you alone because of how special you are. I have told you all this so that we might dwell upon it in futility and kill 20 minutes. Come now, we have a long journey ahead to build dramatic tension before I resume my lecture about how shitballs crazy this all is and how only you can help.
"Do you know why this is happening viewer?" Is what I expected to hear from Alex
i love watching the guys play yiik so much i really hope they finish(ed) it! it's the perfect amount of paying attention to the game when i want to know how a plotline is progressing and then ignoring it when it's annoying so i just listen to the boys
This has been such a fun journey, glad Dingus & Julius came back for this.
I really have to commend them for making it this far, I would have either stopped entirely or I’d just be skipping through all the dialogue at this point.
Can't wait for the 11 hour complete series
Seriously, though, my art classes never mentioned such a thing (not referring to shlongs), because there are times when you have to slightly alter something, because the added lines from their hair make it look like they have a droopy eye, as an example. I'm not saying this because they need to know or whatever, I just find the idea of accidental illusions (that word might be over-selling it, but you get my point) interesting and that it's something that any artist should look out for, since it makes you feel mighty dumb when you finally do.
"He can't destroy a THING without his glasses!"
"Mega Bot used Heal! There is a series of beeps and boops coming from its head."
...Eh, you didn't miss much.
Why does Alex keep moving his lips during his inner monologues.
No, that wasn’t a question.
Stockholm syndrome
I like the character designs and the world but the writing is like something I would have written in sixth grade and the dungeons and combat are dull. I think the other guy is right, you've got stockholm syndrome.
im in a similar boat; im trying to give it the benefit of the doubt and read into the story to see what the author could be alluding to, but every 5 minutes my eyes glaze over. these kind of games benefit from having multiple endings or hidden themes. if this was as post-modern as it claimed to be, i'd love to see a situational ending for having enough money in your pocket/helping mom. economy is booming in 1999, but your mom missed out on investing because she sent her kids to college. now she's out of a job and needs you to come up with $20k. dont make it obvious, but let it be a bonus if you manage to do it.
i dont know much about this game, but there are at least a lot of lessons to be learned from its failures. i dont even mind the main character being a pretentious asshole; the player doesnt need it to be a self-insert. laugh at the man-baby. there are so many things that are close to being good, but the core elements of gameplay are too rough.
This is like going through torture you just barely have the pain tolerance to take.
Fuck, out of all the information that robot has learned from all the different realities, what a paradox is isn't fucking one of them. Just in the final conversation she contradicts herself a few times.
As soon as they started talking about Alex's alternate selves I thought "oh hes the guy who cheated on vella or whatever the fuck happened"
I feel like "WHAT THE F**K IS GOING ON!?!?" is the best and most resonable response to this game
DAMMIT! Why’d they have to mention the arm. Can’t stop staring at it
almost the entire episode is dialogue
OneyNG please do not bully pink MegaMan, the time stopper is good it helps me beat quick man's stage
This game is good because Commander Gotou is in it, and he says a meme I know, and he got in teh robutz, and video games aren't a waste of ti- oh hey, look, a Two Brothers reference over there!
With every YIIK video posted on the internet my soul gets closer and closer to leaving my body to enter the soul space.
I thought about it long and hard.. even longer and harder as every micro second of the ever pacing time flowed through my reverberating mind.. when can I reach the final conclusion of why my chubby is so thick and flubby.
vibrating with motion?
Ok so that 20 minute essay on the most basic moral shit ever can be summed up as "People feel guilty for being responsible for a problem, even if not directly, and we often argue defensively on our behalf in order to maintain our good appearance and approval." This game tries so hard to be deeply philosophical, but comes off with a narrative more shallow than a puddle.
Tell me one game that thought you some moral lesson you hadn't figured out yet
@@amuro9624 Lisa: The Painful is a good example, it basically teaches you the significance of "the ends don't justify the means." I personally don't think a game needs to be philosophical in order to have a great story, but if it absolutely has to say something at least make the message stand out in an acceptable way.
I like how as this series goes on, the amount of us willing to put up with it keeps dwindling.
When i saw this uploaded i put down my alex yiik funko pop, crinkled my toes and giggled with glee.

9:36 Alex yiik asking incredulously if he’s ever hurt any of the woman like Vella before-because he has “no way of knowing with any certainty”-is such a weird highlight of bad writing and self absorbed thinking because, NOT THAT LONG AGO, the Vella in HIS CURRENT REALITY straight-up told him that he was being an asshole and hurt her when he was doing all that shit with the album😂 so uh… the answer is yes, and he also not only *could* have know, he *should* have known, because she told him point blank loll
That boss battle was pretty cool. The music was really nice and the girl-robots beat rush is really cool.
DD and Julian's laughs fill me with joy :) I'm so happy we get to have them on the channel again, even if it's temporary!
Alex YIIK is like those people that are incapable of self-reflection tried to write a character with a redemption arc
I can’t believe this series is so long I’m gonna have to watch every episode i missed
So Alex's arch nemesis is a Japanese war criminal who experimented on maruta.
a yes, the great multidimentional gasslight argument, a question for the ages.
Taking your 'friends' with you to the soul space to avoid the potential destruction of the universe, and knowing this because you have glimpsed into other parallel universes.
6:24 I actually really like the writing here. While most people think of that on a daily basis, Alex YIIK is a bit narcissistic. Narcissists don't recognize that their being defensive further hurts people and actually do need to be told this
"Alex, why?"
"BECAUSE I'M ENJOYING A TREAT DERRICK!"
I'd been waiting from episode 1 for them to start abusing LP Toss. Some things have changed since TehSnakerer did his review on YIIK, but glad to see some things haven't.
Thank god I didn't try to go blind into trying to play this game myself. The only thing that makes this thing bearable to me is the boys' impressions of Alex Yiik.
