- Hey everyone, in this video, I'll be showing the major issues I've been experiencing with the supercharger on my C32 AMG. I'll also talk about the steps I've taken to try to fix it, and why I haven't been successful so far. If you're facing similar issues or just interested in car maintenance, this video is for you because I need your help and input!

C32 owner and yup that supercharger is toast. Maybe the clutch not engaging properly led to the gears within the front of the supercharger missing timing or something along those lines. I’d definitely do a clutchless fixed pulley on a new (to you) supercharger just in case the magnet causes this issue again. Really love the videos, hope it gets fixed soon 👍🏼
That actually makes a good point as well! The clutch not engaging properly leading to the gears within the front of the supercharger missing timing. I didn't even know that could be a thing on these superchargers. So here is what I'm thinking. I will be getting a new Clutch pulley from Moscow Supercharge and check the gap. If the spec is correct then I will possibly run it. If its still not to spec then I will run with the fixed pulley and be safe. Thanks for watching the channel and the added thoughts! 🤘🏾
@@HeyboysGarage glad I could offer some help! Your catch can video helped me out so I’m just paying it back lol
I was in the same boat even now, after the upgraded pulley and Needswing pulley saver kit. Realizing the tensioner pulley was toast after the fact and eating up my belts. So on the hunt as Needswing also told me it was the wrong tensioner.
High pitch noise- crankcase ventilation? Pull the dipstick out see if u still hear it.
I'm going to have to try that once I replace the supercharger. I didn't think crankcase ventilation could be the cause
Only recently found your channel. Big fan of your videos. Keep making content as your helping me out big time! Love from Dublin, Ireland
Awesome! Thank you! yea hopefully i can solve this one
Hello! I just came across your account as I purchased recently a 2004, W203 C240! For $1,000. Run&Drive clean title, Very cold A/C just needs some cosmetic work and a tune up. I purchased off a older person the car was stopped for maybe around a year, I plugged a new battery and the car is amazing started right up. Your are getting me very excited and hyped to restore and make it nice! Keep it up bro!!! Amazing work with the W203
Thanks! Just a few more cosmetic mods and it will be where I want it! They turn out really nice with cosmetic mods
04 c32 owner here I’ve never heard anything like that from my car. The only thing I can think of would be worn out gears allowing the screws of the supercharger to bounce off of each other when spinning.
Seems like thats the most responds from others! I did end up doing some research and it is true the alignment and timing of the supercharger can be off which will cause them binding or bouncing of each other or hitting the inside of the supercharger.
Good luck brother and one thing if you do get another one can i get the old one😅 i got a clk 500 and im triyng to work w what i got
This supercharger will only work on the M112 and not the M113. You will need the supercharger from the M113k for your CLK500
@@HeyboysGarage wooow what a pleasure for you to reply bro that's Awesome. And thank you 🙏
@@HeyboysGarage do you have any recommendations for the clk?
@@ManuelPerez-jw5ei difficult to add supercharger not worth it
@@emiledutoit9434 not to supercharge specifically just more power and reliability
The noise at 6:30 makes me want to cry!
I know 😭😭😭 so bad!
Noo, Mannn, sorry this happened to you. My 32 is my DD and I spend so much effort and money in maintaining it that I would literally cry if I started my car and heard that noise, I feel for you. I run a fixed pulley and have changed the SC oil but have never had a reason to pull it apart and have never heard that sound coming from any other 32 before so I don't have any answers for you. Since you did the bearings and it's still doing it, I guess it's toast, right? That noise is so grating that I would have to assume there's some real visible internal damage. Could you try a clutch delete pulley and see how it runs with no magnet on there? How do your rotors look? are they chewed up? Shit, it would be cool to see a whippled C32, haven't seen one of those yet...
i know... from the responds I'm getting. seems like the twin screws are out of timing/miss align causing them to bind or bounce of each other or hitting the internal walls of the supercharger body. Not sure what caused it.. Not sure if a out of spec pulley can do that or a worse out tensioner would do that?
I'm a C32AMG owner and I have to say this one has me puzzled. What air intake are you running? SL55 or standard C32?
M113k y pipe
@@HeyboysGarage would it be worth running the oem air intake? See if it helps? Process of elimination. I run a split coolant system, a small pulley but with standard air intake. Mine has run fine for the 3 years I've owned it. Probably not related to your problem but it's the only thing I've got 😉
I'm waiting for my replacement pulley from vtech, and then I guess I will need to get a new belt and try again, I have a tune from mss, which was causing a misfire, but I think it was the whole pulley. I was running a fixed pulley with the magnet removed. Mine has been down for like 2 months cuz of it.
How come you didn't look at a different company for a better pulley/different pulley. Your's is just down due to a bad pulley right?
@@HeyboysGarage sorry it sounded a bit confusing the fixed pulley was from a company on eBay looked exactly like yours... I then ordered one from VTech, yet to be installed that didn't need the drum... It's the tensioner I think it's bad on mine that was eating up the belt. I hope, but when I was searching for pulleys didn't find any company that was still making them for the m112k
@@Frankie_Freedom was the fixed pulley on eBay from company called UPD?
@@HeyboysGarage you know what I had not realized who it was from. Just went back and checked and it looked like it was from them.
@@Frankie_Freedom their fixed pulley was not good?
Superchargers a weak point on those engines… will need a whole new kompressor… may be able to rebuild.
Rebuild might cost more than getting a good used supercharger? For now not sure what I will do with this current supercharger
@@HeyboysGarage If you can rebuild it yourself it’s definitely gonna be cheaper.
it sounds painful my boy its cooked
Exactly what I was thinking also!
Maybe that supercharger went bad watch that video
I did come across that video and thats the exact same noise! I believe the supercharger is also bad! @ryano4713 had a good point as well on this comment!
It maybe that time to get a new supercharger bro I don’t think it’s anything else bc you had some new replacements already and the fact that you said that motor runs good without it should let you know it’s the supercharger
It happens bro you got a beast car don’t over think it it has to be that supercharger fs fs especially watching that video on the difference on how superchargers sound when they goes bad should let you know also AGAIN ITS THE SUPERCHARGER
Go*
buy a new supercharger
Most definitely 💯
