Shepard-class was my favorite Discovery era design. So I was very happy to not only see it get a 25th century update in Star Trek Online but to also see the Gargarin-class in Star Trek Picard seasons 2 and 3.
Oh yes I know who he is. You should look up an astronaut by the name of Robert Henry Lawrence I think he would be worthy of a Gagarin as well. By the way who does your work just out of curiosity it's amazing stuff
I think that's 1 heck of a ship. I know people are going to object to it but face it after the Dominion war and everything else that happened Starfleet had to get smart so they had to build ships like this. Because not everybody is gonna be peaceful. Updates and replenishments and replacements are part of naval history.
Not my personal cup of tea. Looks... flat. Don't know why I dislike this one when the NX is on of my favorites. Might be the collectors. The double pylon supports maybe? Something reads as off. Before anyone says something, I only know this ship from STO.
The predecessor class looks very similar to this:this is the updated version. The original version was called the Shepherd class. It's designed to be flat because it's supposed to have a lower profile
@@rolandmiller5456 I am aware that this is some sort of refit, something just seems off. Looks like it was flattened, rather than built flat. Maybe a Constitution put in a hydraulic press? The double pylons also are odd. Maybe it is just the 25 century design language.
Love how you capture all the great angels of this ship.
That is one hell of a ship.
1:03 ... The camera move is super! Like it.

What I love about the Gagarin is how imposing it looks. If you didn't see it in-game or look at the specs, you'd swear it was 5x the size it is.
It's also TECHNICALLY a quad nacelle ship. It has 4 sets of warp coils. Neat.
Gorgeous ship
Facts
Looks like the designer took inspiration from the NX class and Klingon bird of prey...looks like a tough ship
It's a 24th century update of the shepherd class. There's a whole background story of it on star trek online.
By the way for folks who don't know the Gagarin class I named I named for noteworthy astronauts from both Earth and other planets
Yep! This one keeps to the naming convention of the Gagarin, as it is also named for astronaut Guion Bluford!

@@rolandmiller5456 He definitely would!
To answer your question, all of the videos showing off STO ships were done by me!
Your work is extraordinary. And as a Star Trek fan I do appreciate it.
Judging from your answer I see you looked up Captain Lawrence.
I'm gonna have to look you up and contact you about something if that's alright with you.
Oh by the way endeavor I joined your website. Still trying to figure it out 😊

Not my favorite ship though it is one of the few Disco family designs that doesn't make me want to commit various warcrimes
War crimes ? Really.
@@rolandmiller5456 I'm sure it's just a bit of hyperbole for emphasis.
