  • Please note I am not a professional, I just do this to learn more and to keep me busy. The pollen filter in the cabin and the fuel filter in the Petrol tank must also be changed I didn't think it needed to but check it and replace if necessary. The fuel filter will be a mission on its own as the back seat must be removed and the tank must be opened. Thank you for watching hope this helps someone.

    Great Video! Really helps car owners to understand their car and service it themselves. My car is a 2014 i20 Petrol, i feel the engine vibrations inside the cabin, the steering wheel, the dashboard. The vibration or engine feel happens only when the car is on drive or reverse gear with breaks applied. When the car is running, there is no vibrations. Can you please advise what could be the issue?

    • @YusufPetersenCPT
      @YusufPetersenCPT  Год назад

      Could be an engine mounting or your brake disks are warped. If the cars just normal running idle and no vibration then im not sure. Hope you come right.

    It's been 6 years now that I own this car and I still can't find an answer to this: At what intervals do I need to change the manual gearbox's fluids? And how long (years) should I keep them if I don't do as many kilometers / miles? I never got a satisfactory answer from the dealership. It's the PB 1,25L version.

    • @YusufPetersenCPT

      Nice question i know as a rule of thumb gearbox oil change every 60 000km if you can keeps it nice and healthy some maybe 80 000km i have not yet changed this cars gearbox oil and its on 120 000km i should do it i think it was done at 50 000km according to the dealer book. That sort of oil is never lifetime like some manufacturer s claim. Unless you open fill hole get some fluid out have an inspection a nice smell and feel if its all still good and not leaking and topped up dont worry

    Hi yusuf how is the fuel consumption of the i20? I do get around 650km on a full tank. Also do you only service your personal cars or doing it as a job? Pls let me know thanks.

      Hi there not sure how much on a tank as wife drives it but she gets on average 7.0l per 100km. Thats like city driving. Get it to 5.9ltrs on the long road if not less. She drives easy a month on a tank. Very good on fuel. Yes i service my cars as a person not a business. Both cars are out of service plan so its the most cost effective and i know im doing it right.

    • @YusufPetersenCPT

      Theres not much to do just remove sump plug and oil filter that can be a bit of a b*tch coz of where it is if its really tight. So you gotta do my chain move or a oil filter wrench the rest is pretty straightforward. Best of luck and check dipstick after start. Can use the email on my about page.

    Be careful with the oil level, always check the hot engine.

    • @GC2560
      @GC2560 3 года назад +3

      Actually, it's better on a cold engine. Oil expands when hot. That is, indicates a higher fluid level than actual.

    Bonjour, super vidéo merci pour le partage ! attention votre véhicule n'est pas a plat sur le sol, l'avant étant levé, l"intégralité de l'ancienne huille n'est pas vidangé. Sur ces moteurs asiatique, il faut aussi préciser que le niveau d'huile ce control moteur et huile chaude pas comme les moteurs européens =) @+++

    • @YusufPetersenCPT
      @YusufPetersenCPT  3 года назад +1

      Yeah raising the front is a bit crappy but i dont have a lift or enough jack stands thats why i dont lift it higher, the pan at least is at and angle so it would still drain most of the oil it not slanted too much to the back. I get the car real hot to help the oil come out easier. Also when i checked oil dipstick it is after i ran it a bit to get it off the ramps and let it idle for a few mins i do this to both my cars as im used to it coming from my previous Asian cars.

    where did you get the box, did hyundai send it to you or did you go buy it somewhere ?

    • @YusufPetersenCPT
      @YusufPetersenCPT  4 года назад +8

      I went to a Hyundai dealer at the parts desk just ask for a service kit for the appropriate km's they put it all in a box, the box came up to R1700.00ish not too bad at all seeing that a 100 000km service comes up to R5000.00 at the dealer.

    • @YusufPetersenCPT
      @YusufPetersenCPT  2 года назад +3

      I technically already did it but cars only at 102000km now wife hardly drives it but the only difference would be changing the engine 'fan' belt and doing a coolant and brake fluid flush if needed.

      @enricobeukes6373 2 года назад +1

      Hi yusuf i bought the car recently Im not sure if the 2013 model has a service light that indicates or pops up on the dash for when the car is due for a service .or do i only keep track in the service book?

    • @YusufPetersenCPT
      @YusufPetersenCPT  2 года назад +2

      @@enricobeukes6373 no there is not a service light the service book should be followed if you are driving less than 15000km a year then its every year this one drives way less so i service it every year around the same time. Even if you dont change the plugs on time just make sure to change the oil and oil filter that keeps the engine good

    hi. i have a kia rio with your same engine. 22.000 KM now. on cold start, engine make a noise like tappets, 30-40 seconds. I noticed when engine warms up, the noise goes away. did you noticed that in your car? i don't know if what i have is piston slap or something. oil shell ect c2/c3 0w30 every 10.000 KM, original filter also. can you help me please? sorry for my bad english.

    • @YusufPetersenCPT
      @YusufPetersenCPT  4 года назад

      Maybe it's a timing chain if its smoking bad then maybe piston issues.. also that oil seems really thin. Maybe go thicker like 10w40 or 15w40 its thicker and coats better at cold start .. your engine still very low km so it could be defect somehow.

    • @filosofolowcost
      @filosofolowcost 4 года назад

      @@YusufPetersenCPT Engine doesn't smoke, the mpg average is fine and no oil consumption. Can you help me and make a video starting the engine when it's cold? And also, record the engine idle when the engine it's at normal temp?
      Thank you!

    • @YusufPetersenCPT
      @YusufPetersenCPT  4 года назад

      @@filosofolowcost sounds simple enough will do that today just came from a drive so will idle it warm and then later a cold start... never had a crazy chain noise at start up just a little rattle after a few days of standing for like 2 seconds, thats normal because theres no oil on the top of the engine from it standing. What i think it might be is you are hearing the injectors that are a bit loud at clicking when idling so will put that all in. hope it all helps.

HX8 is good,I put in Castrol Edge works great. goodluck hope all this helps him.
