Yes the top mounts cost extra if you going to replace shocks the shops normally just swop over the old top mounts. So it could be the old ones yes it is a crucial part of the front strut but made pretty weak in my opinion for a car as big as the w204 is. But note the bearing this plastic thing is seperate to the top mount it sits within it so at the parts store you can get them seperate or as one they will charge for the bearing and the top mount/top hat separately.

Yes you feel it a bit on the steering if its heavier it could be really bad. And feel clunky. Look it could also be steering wrack but I don't immediately jump that far ahead.

Yes I have come a long way this is when I was still findng my feet on the channel. But then again most people that aren't from USA or UK has a bit of an accent that's now something we can't immediately fix. Especially when we speak alot of non English growing up here.

Umm you can make it move a little side to side but it's mostly up and down there no adjustments for side to side will have to move the whole headlight itself if its way out adjustment assumes the lights are straight

Not the sway bats it was the two front sway bar end links. Yep its tough to immediately find out where the noises is coming from good thing to just have it looked at and then replace the part that's suspect.

@@BMJJ8 it is the sway bar stabilizer bar same thing the things I replaced attach to the end of that bar that goes right accross from the left to the right also called an anti roll bar it bolts to the end of both ends and to the strut. Good question I only realised its the button when in changed the lock and it still had the same issue. I did think about it and there is a way. You will have to remove the panel of the boot close it and if you struggling. Just go into the car and bridge the switch wire its only 2 wires so you can bridge it and the lock should open if the lock still doesn't open then the lock is the issue. But easy assumption is that the rubber deteriorates from the button once the rubber part is gone or broken its easy for it to get wet and dust in there over time and just make the button faulty. The lock seems robust so the best bet would be the button is the issue but you never know till you know. Maybe go to a second hand parts place get a button and swop it out.

They all clip on the side but that one on the right by the blue connector must be disconnected I remember it being simple but there's a bit of wire still on the light housing its the only way. I honestly forgot just how it sits but yaa this job left me baffled I still never got out the headliner its such a hectic job. I mean putting on another head on the engine was simpler than this.😅

Good question if your coolant system is tip top no need to change it unless the pulley is worn or making a noise or the car seems to be running warmer than it should. If all is well in the coolant and pulley department no need to change it. Our one is on 120000km now and no need to change anything like that. I have done little to no work on that engine other than service it and I always throw in purified bottled water in the coolant system that keeps it nice and clean tap water tends to start the rusting in the coolant system.
