O yea, the emulation is great, forgot to mention that, no problems there. Also, again, don't ask me how i got HyloX and where to get all the other stuff; search engines are your friends.
Here is the solution to your Hylo X crashing. I'm 90% sure it's not your flash drive. Open up the back of the bar top, and plug your flash drive directly into the PCB. The problem with the USB port on the back of the machine is that the cable that comes stock with the machine is not fast enough to transfer the data necessary to run Hylo. You can plug your flash drive directly into the back of the PCB, or do what I did and grab a 3.0 usb-a to usb-a cable to replace the stock cable that came with the machine. Just try this before buying a new flash drive. I had the same issue, and this fixed it. My Hylo now runs perfectly. If it is the flash drive, which I am pretty confident it is not, grab a Samsung fit. That is what I am using and it works great.
Great indepth review of the cabinet.
Awesome birthday present to buy for yourself 😄
Undoubtly, i could have said more. I try to keep the commentary compact and fluent so it's easy to comprehend for everyone.
Thanks so much. I want this alot now
Go get it!
Right now there is no pedastal solutions for 2 player countercades from a1up. Can you do a video showing what it would look like using the mvsx stand? I may buy those for my countercades as a cheap solution. But i was wondering if it would even work. Can you show me a pic or do a video
In this video i show the stand an how it fairs. That's what you mean right?
@@fistbumpbros no, i want to know if the new arcade1up 2player countercades would fit
I have no idea. You should look up the dimensions and compare them i guess.
Great review, it's awesome hearing honest opinions. We found that the buttons were okay but the stick needed help- but that obviously depends on the user.
Thank you. I already have stick ready for replacement, making a video about that as well!
@@fistbumpbros STICK it in! :D
Need more free time to do so 😬
@@fistbumpbros you and me both. Fistbump
Great Video dude, I love my MVSX, props to the Hylo Team! My Hylo OS boots every time with no problems. I like NBA Jam on Mega Drive on my MVSX
Yap! I released a video yesterday on how to get HyloX running stable! I still need to update HyloX to include the Capcom and Megadrive packs though.
hello, can I ask you what is his name and where did you buy that nice animated picture that you see hanging on the wall?
Sure! This is the Divmoo Pixoo. I reviewed it in this video : ruclips.net/video/Na6375u9afg/видео.html
Does Hylox allow you to use dip switch settings? The main reason I haven't bought one yet is the lack of dip switch settings.
There isn't a way too use (software) DIP settings as far as I've seen. As an example: every game is set to free play. You can of course, don't hit that continue button each time. But as an Arcade machine you cant scam your customers into inserting more money into it 😬
Good review, it seems like with a bit of mod work this could be a perfect solution for someone that wants that Neo Geo feel without the enormous price tag. Thanks
Thank you. It still is a great cabinet, just wanted to point out some flaws as honestly possible. Lots of things I said haven't been addressed since it's release.
Lucky I wish I had room for this. Makes me feel nostalgic. My childhood arcade was abandoned a long time ago. Makes me sad to look at the building. A tornado, storm damaged the place, and the owner never rebuilt.
Sad story man. I moved a few years ago to a huge house, although I don't have infinite space, this MVSX isn't that big. I was oogling at a Astro City but I've been playing on one for a few months every time I visit the arcades here but it's way too big. And heavy. I thought the US had many arcades? My youth arcade has been replaced with funfair machines, which isn't the same.
@@fistbumpbros The US used to have a lot of arcades. My town has one at a bowling ally, but it is not the same. Most of the stuff they have are physical like basketball counters etc. I know they have good arcades in the east, but I'm stuck in Texas in the middle of nowhere.
I understand about playing with the machine months before buying it. I always do that with gaming keyboards.
I always wanted to visit your country again. It has been 20 years since my last visit. With the arcades you've shown, it makes me want to visit even more.
@@jes2276 yea sadly that's where commercial arcading is heading towards. Its all about quick revenue and adrenaline fixes with these ticket machines. Let's call it, 'playful gambling'. The only way to enjoy the real arcade gaming is to go to these niche venues with an entrance fee or buy your own collection. A lot has changed in 20 years though: when this pandemic is over, you should consider coming over. Hit me up when youre around, we'll hit the arcades!
Hi thank you very much a Video, it opposite Arcade machine, there is a pictures Screen, what it is and what is called, where can buy? very cool to have this at home too 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hi, it's the Divoom Pixoo 64, as in my review here: ruclips.net/video/Na6375u9afg/видео.html
@@fistbumpbros thank you so much nice of you
@@Swdragon76 No problem! They have multiple versions and products to suit your needs.
Nice review!
Thank you man, appreciated.
some know how to play games like "the king of fighters 2002 magic plus" on mvs x, "the king of fighters 2004 special edition" on mvsx, "crouching Tiger hidden dragon 2003 super plus", "the king of fighters 2004 (is a kof 2003 modded versión with all characters unlocked ) i want to play all this modded versión on mvsx, i play this on neo geo rage, but i want to know how to run this modded hacked versión of this games on the "MVS X ARCADE"
No clue.
imho - that thing is the "perfect base" to hardmod
if you ever get a damaged unit for cheap - buy it and make your own machine with a minipc, i did that and i love my modded MVSX.
Still - yep you are total right about the controls - nothing besides the monitor is original on mine which i most likely also change to a 19"
That's another way of salvaging the thing, thanks for the tip!
@@fistbumpbros when i have all mods done i will make a "full vexplanation ideo" of my cabinet - but i have already alot of videos where i showed my progress if you are interrested :D
Even did Lightguns via Dolphinbar and completely redone the Audio because i disliked the waist level audio and low bass speakers
Why i think especially "that hing" is good for that is - because it has way better build quality then arcade 1ups in my opinion what the "woodwork" belongs as also its a bartop which you can throw on everywhere.
i bought my mvsx for 50 bucks damaged - when you think about the "woodwork" itself - all of what i "stuck in" this right now is more then paid. Because the Wood mostly is the priciest thing when you also dont have a workshop (in europe) not to speak about the. monitor which i actually would love (the angles are lovely) but it bleeds a lil bit too much.
That bouncing pixel frame on the wall... what's that?
It's a Divmoo Pixoo 64. I replaced it with the Divmoo Pixoo. You can check my review here : ruclips.net/video/Na6375u9afg/видео.html
i sold mine after playing it 1 day, my left hand went numb from being smashed against the side & Neo is a 4 button game not 6
Ok
Your supposed to buy the riser to put under the base you purchased to make height for standup play.
No one is not supposed to buy anything. I know there's a riser for sale: I'm talking about the machine as how it's sold. Also, the riser isn't available in most countries (last ive heard only in Canada) so most owners don't bother or make something themselves.
Hallo. Ben je van Nederland? Ik heb hulp nodig met mijn MVSX.
Klopt.
You can also use a 50 pound sand bag
yup
Do you know if it’s possible to change the speakers on this? By far the weakest sound in any arcade😂
@@grgmj1980 Yes you can. I believe they are 10 inchers.
@@fistbumpbros would they go in the same spot as the stock speakers. Sorry for all the questions
@@grgmj1980 Yes. And no problem.
My advice is use a Samsung usb stick and you will never have any problems thanks for supporting unico and the MVSX
I have used many brands to resolve the issue. Corsair Survivor and now a SanDisk. I used a Samsung Fit at first, same issue.
I'm using Samsung fit plus 64 gig and it has been very dependable for over 6 months.
@@thewookiewins9617 Weird, I tried the Samsung Fit but it had the same issues. It's still touch and go on the successful bootups. I'll give it another try.
Some games hang the machine when they are not compatible. It continues to try to load it after you try to exit out. It was a lot of trail and error to which games will work making my own list of games. It is well worth it though.
@@thewookiewins9617 all of the 150 games I have in this pack work 100%. It's just the HyloX bootup which is inconsistent. Mainly after two clean boots it work flawless.
Your problem is the usb stick. With the samsung that doesn’t happen.
I used 2x Samsung Fit's, a Sandisk and a Corsair. It's not the USB stick's problem, but the used USB-A male cable inside the cabinet. I already made an update video about : ruclips.net/video/R6gAnliMtIc/видео.html
@@fistbumpbros nice mate. Don’t blame the devs next time if you are not totally sure about it. Its extremely offensive :)
@@fakemaria In my opinion, i said nothing rude about the developers or the program. I just mentioned that program is unstable and it might be because of the things i mentioned. Also, what i said about HyloX concerning the user interface is something i stand firm about. It's still as anit-intuitive as the stock OS.
@@fistbumpbros the usb compatibility, the UI,etc is a mandatory heritage from the original fw. My recommendation: talk to tye devs next time and get an idea about how challenging it was create something for this shitty board. And if you can do it better,im pretty sure the community will be grateful (there are tons of reviews out there and only one group who were developing on it).
Cheers
@@fakemaria I know the back story. That doesn't mean i can have (imho, very mild) critique on it. The fact that it isn't categorized into sections and that you have to scroll from beginning, to end, is annoying. No one can deny that. Im not a developer, my background is graphic design, but i do love UX/UI.
