  • Technical tests using an FPV drone camera powered by a Lthium Torch battery and running on a OTA wagon pushed around to observe any track problems. The layout is 'Beechingless Barnstaple' and laid with Rocoline track - with trackbed. It is currently being 'resurrected after years of non-use due to proritising portable layouts: so track cleaning and some alterations - resulting in many buildings and landscape sections being lifted and stacked wherever possible! Later videos will be once the scenery is back in place 8-)
The camera used this time was: A Micro FPV Camera, S 2 OSD AIO 5.8G 800TVL HD Micro FPV Camera NTSC PAL Switchable FPV Camera 150° FOV Horizontal 170° DFOV Diagonal Viewing Angle, via Amazon, and hard wired to a 3.7V Lithium Battery holder.
Recorded on TF card in a BETAFPV VR03 FPV Glasses with DVR Function, Interchangeable Antenna, 5.8G, 48 Channels 4.3 Inch 800 x 480PX, HD-LCD, NTSC/PAL Support Recording Playback - this model uses mirrors instead of fresnel lenses.
The video recording was 640x480 4x3 format 50Hz.
The occasional break-up / signal loss was when I accidentally touched the receiving aerial on the Goggles.
The video features: The 'High Level Loop' built on the RSJs of the loft conversion. some stills of Wrafton/Exeter/ExmouthJunctionSidings, then video of my Torrington Branch, and Ilfracombe Branch.
The TV screens can show: video cameras monitoring pointwork on the lower [storage] level or, now, Z21 App trackplan displaya via an Android Tv box loaded with the Z21 App.
There is also a 'half speed' version with tighter editing.

Recently it has been either the incredulous Post Office enquiry (live) or a Carry On Film from ITVX on the screen, but in this case it was ITV's [recent?] 'Tom Jones' period drama (now being blurred). When 'operating' the layout: the monitors show video from cameras pointed at pointwork at each end of the lower storage level (Exeter St Davids) ... but can now also be used to show the Z21 track diagram screens by using an 'Andoid TV box' with the Z21 App loaded ... replacing earlier PC-based mimic diagrams ( Rocomotion) or my original 2 metre long hardware Zero-1Micromimic display which is now mounted on the garage wall.
