  • 3d test v2 [see note below]
Reading Show of the Association of Large Scale Modellers on 12th May 2018 including Steve Howard's 'Hambleden Valley' live steam layout using R/C gas-fired locos incorporating an Australian Slow-Motion Mechanism allowing prototypical slow speed running for shunting etc.
Also including Whiteleaf's G Scale Tramway - also with live steam and the Piko DB Railbus.
G Scale Society represented by the Thames Valley Area Group. Many other layouts, including live steam oval running. On show, but not actualy running 8-) : A Warship and a Western ...in large scale.
3D Copy 2D version available in 'Fillin 3D Test'...
NOTE: This video required 3D correction throughout - to avoid bringing the image forward of the screen (and caption !) A 'translucent' chimney on Steve's layout can still be 'seen' at times ...
The 3D camera requires periodic calibration of the twin lens alignment - and on this occasion it was not done or used a poor image for calibration - apologies - but as it was back in 2018, and I don't have a working TARDIS, this correction is all that is possible for now.
The error usally arises at a show when a 'sudden closeup' presents itself - and the camera has not had time to adjust the lens setting from the previous shot ... you may notice that when a model train pans past the camera, I usually 'back away' to maintain a minimum distance ... which in 2D only requires the auto focus to follow or depth of field to be adequate. [All these show visits are shot 'as is'. The best 3D shots leave the camera static - covering the overall scene, and allow the viewer's eyes (stereo) to wander over the landscape just as if they were standing there ... the 3D perspective does not change during the shot
