Lovely well written work Angela. I cannot say I liked Deborah as I thought she gave Alex too much trouble with her assumptions. I am looking forward to the next book.
Battered hero, shattered brained heroine, yet both are such dear characters. I listen to this audiobook often.
These romances are so very addictive! Wonderful!
Very entertaining. I enjoyed it immensely. Having the banns read in church [ usually the parishes where the bride and groom live ] means that the marriage ceremony is conducted in a church. In this case it would have been conducted in the local parish church by a Church of England vicar. Thank you.

Just started, but already enjoy the narration.
Very true indeed! There are quite a few books I would of loved to listen to, but the awful narration immediately turns me off ... This one is very nice! Another thing I found out is that very few authors’ writing style imitates the true conversational English... imagine that! 😊
But since I have many things to do I get to enjoy these stories regardless. Thank you!

Why would she trust Margaret at all
I love this question! Debra is fighting the emotions of not wanting to be forced into a loveless marriage. She feels like an outsider amongst her older sisters who are a bit jealous that their younger sister is being matched before them, especially Kate who had designs on Alex. Margaret offers friendship and Debra is yearning for companionship. She doesn't see the trouble until it is staring her in the face, literally in the mirror.

I think having Debra in so much fantasy went a little too far.

The narrator has a nice voice BUT she does not have the range for so many characters, the males are awful to listen to and the moms sound ancient!
I suppose the moms are ancient. 🧑🦳

I get where you're coming from, but I find them comedic! I don't personally care about side characters as long as the MCs are well voiced, and I think they are, for my taste
This is a fun book but very misleading. Younger inexperienced sisters beware, a man does not need love to kiss you. He would kiss you just to see how far he can get. Enjoy the fiction, dont get ideas
That is what separates a Rake from a Gentleman. Alex is very much a gentleman...
